Absolutely amazing sound

First off, let me say, if you are looking for quality sound with comfortable fit, I have not found anything that comes even close to these. I use my SoundTrue In-ear headphones at work and need to still be able to hear when someone is yelling for me so I decided to not get the noise canceling QC20’s. I do not like over the ear headphones as they start to hurt over time so these were the best bet. I have purchased 2 pairs in 3 years as the first pair just kind of fell apart after 20 months. If you plan on using these headphones for working out or any other physical activity where sweat will be involved, do yourself a favor and get the SoundSport headphones. They use a different rubber on those that do not degrade from sweat. As for the sound quality, I have never heard any other headphones come even close. These have lowest lows and the crispest highs I have ever heard from any pair of earbuds. On a side note, for any motorcyclists out there, I use these headphones on my motorcycle, and without a helmet, they stay in my ears in 70mph and I can still hear the bass coming through them. Very impressive work from Bose on this front. As for the 4/5 the only complaint I have is they switched from a 90 degree plug to a straight a plug and I have an iPhone 6+ which is rather large, and when I have my phone in my pocket and my headphones plugged in to it, I fear the jack being bent. This happened to one pair already but Bose was amazing enough to send me an advanced replacement for them.

Love everything but the sound.

I've purchased, and have been very pleased with, many Bose proTducts in the past. I recently purchased a set of SoundTrue earbuds because of this. To my surprise, when I plugged them into my iPhone, the sound quality was absolutely atrocious! There is absolutely no bottom end, just a lot of mids and highs making for and extremely "tinny" sound! I love everything about these save the audio quality, but that fact alone makes these headphones worthless to me. I've purchased several different equalizer apps to try and rectify the problem to no avail.

Wonderful headphones

I have these headphones for a short time. Up for now impressed by their quality. These headphones are not noise cancelling! I don't want to have noise cancelling as I prefer to be aware of my surroundings when I am out. I know that noisier location are not good for listening music. I am really bothered that many people complain about nose cancelling. Why didn't they read the product specifications?! I prefer classic music, and the sound is excellent, deep and clear. I also tried Mika (pop/jazz) and the bass was impressive, not bum-bum, just right...High pithed sounds are crystalline clear. The ear pieces were a novelty for me. I like them as they seem to be more stable still, I am not sure if I prefer this style to the the classic inside ear buds.

Great sound, work very well with hearing aids but.

I am on my second pair and unlike others the sound has been consistent even over my hearing aids which is a plus. However, after six months both sets began to deteriorate at the cables. They just rot and then fray all the way down. You would think you could have figured this out by now especially since they are so expensive. The cable material is cheap.

Great sound, but no noise cancellation

I bought these the other day and I'm so surprised at how not only can I hear my music, but I can also hear all of the other noises on the street, on the subway and everywhere else. Had I known that there was no noise cancellation I never would have wasted the money on these. Im gonna put them in a drawer and buy another new pair of headphones.

Bring back the original Bose in-ear!

I bought these SoundTrue in ear headphones to replace the original incarnation of Bose in-ear headphones. Those original Bose had amazing sound including powerful bass. I was disappointed to hear the bass on these new SoundTrue units. I even exchanged the first pair thinking they were defective. Maybe if Bose included (or sent me as an act of amazing customer service) the StayHear+ ear tips from the QC20 the bass might come alive.

Excellent, but...

I love these headphones. They are comfortable, stay put in my ear, sound great, and they are durable. Everything about them is great. Except for one big thing. The inline controls do not work with the iPhone 6. That really is the only drawback, but unfortunately, it's a big one. The controls work for older models of the iPhone, but not the newest ones. So, they come up just short of being the perfect set of earphones. 5 stars for quality, 1 star for iPhone 6 compatibility.

One modification & You'll have a Great Headphone

Ok, so you've done your research about this Bose headphone and you've already known that Bose has a reputation for making great headphones and speakers, but you're still wondering if this $129.99 is worth the purchasing price. Well, the headphone as it is in its original packaging comes with the silicone-soft "StayHear" ear tips that make this SoundTrue headphones sounds about average, YES, AVERAGE! but wait. If you order the noise-cancellation in-ear headphones version of the silicone-soft "StayHear" ear tips for $9.99, or on amazon for a little less, you'll have an amazing sounding headphone that sounds fantastic. I PROMISE YOU. The original ear tip the SoundTrue comes with make your music mix with outside interfering noises which makes it produce average sound. Using the noise-cancellation version of the silicone-soft StayHear ear tips insulate the sound coming from the headphone and keeps out outside noises which of course will result to amazing sounding headphone. Every negative reviewer of this headphone has a point for their criticism, and I agree with most of them, until I bought the other ear tips that comes with the in-ear noise cancellation headphone and there is a huge difference. Perhaps Bose should listen to the complains and include the ear tips for noise cancellation with the SoundTrue version. Cheers.

BOSE In ear headphones

Perfect sound. Was a little put off by the £115 price tag, glad I invested. Great sound!

Flawed design

This is my second set of in-ear Bose headphones. Can't fault the sound quality, far superior to most other brands. However the earlier design had a right angled jack plug that sat more flush with the device - this model has a straight jack the protrudes about an inch. After just a few weeks I knocked the device off the sofa onto carpeted floor. A small drop and clearly no chance of damage to the device but the jack on the headphones bent and now no longer work. Would not have been an issue with a right angled jack. This design just leaves them so much more prone to damage.

Great for small ears, comfortable

I am on my third and fourth pairs, I love them. I use them so much and like to have two pairs on hand (home/office). I wore both pairs from from consistent use daily. These are the only headphones I've found to be comfortable and not hurt my ears. Love that they come with different sizes of buds. Bose has great service and I am a fan of everything they produce overall.

Fantastic quality sound

I received these free with the purchase of a soundtouch system and thought I'll give them to my son.....He never even got to listen through them as they are so good. I have never been a fan of earbuds until I tried these out. So comfortable you forget that you are wearing them and WOW what a crisp sound they produce. I have paid £100's for headphones that don't produce a sound this vibrant.......you actually hear sounds that you have never heard before while listening to your favourite tracks. I would have no hesitation in recommending these to anyone.

Regretable design

I have small ears, not freakishly small, but small. These in-ear headphones are badly designed for small ear person like me. Now, I'm stuck with them because the store won't take them back. I presumed that headphones with Bose brand would equate with quality design. I was WRONG. I cannot comment on the sound quality of the headset as the in-ear piece sticks out too much (meaning is does not fit in the ear properly) and the sound is lost. This is so disappointing. I've lost confidence in this brand - too bad because I had a very positive opinion of the brand until now - and will NOT LONGER buy anything from them.

Sound is Excellent

I have had these earbuds for over 6 months and I just love the sound I get from them. I did have a problem with noise from the outside world getting into my ear (like others have writen about) but I changed the size of the ear bud tip and now they are great, I guess thats why they give you different size ear buds eh. I have been buying Bose for years and I do have the noise cancelling ear buds and they are awesome too but I wanted a pair for everyday life that would sound great and these were the pair for me. Thanks Bose!

Highly disappointed

When I bought these earphones, it was 6 am and I was in an empty airport terminal. I tried them and thought that the sound was great. That was before I tried them on the plane, at the gym or anywhere else other than my bedroom at night when there is absolutely no noise. When I do push on the earbuds, the sound is better, but I would need to always be pushing on them to keep them in place in order to have that sound. This is the first Bose product I buy that I am not satisfied with and that I would not recommend :(

quite disappointed

It's not my first bose purchase,i've already bought 4 pair of headphones but this time i wanted to changed and try this new product, also because the weather in UK forces me to wear a beanie most of the time. They come in a fancy box as usual, spare parts are reliable and they are designed to fit perfectly, nothing to complain about that but unfortunately i'm quite disappointed about the sound quality,it's just average, nothing compares to what i used to have from this brand. I just purchased them 5 days ago and i'm already thinking to sell them and move back to some more reliable pair of headphone.

Very disappointed- Please bring back the angular mini plug!!!

The SoundTrue model is presumably the new version of the MIE2i which I've been a heavy user of (close to 40 hours a week of constant use) for several years now and although the first 3 MIE2i's had to be warranty replaced for mic failure after 6-8 months (Bose has been great about replacing them), the last set of MIE2i worked great for over a year until the in line control buttons and the sheathing on the wire started to fall apart. Again, I use mine heavily and I work in construction. Despite the problems I had with the MIE2i's, I was very happy with them for their design and sound quality.I cannot say the same for the SoundTrue. In particular, the new mini plug is step backwards in design. The angular mini plug on the MIE2i was much better. The in-line control of my new SoundTrue (I've used for about 2 months now) have already stopped working completely. Prior to them not working, the audio would often cut out momentarily and the in-line controls would stop working until I unplugged and re-plugged them in. The mini plug sticks out of the phone about 1.5 inches which I can only assume is the cause. I've also had some intermittent mic failure while on phone calls. The fit is still the same, which I like, and the sound quality seems a little weaker in the lower frequencies but I can live with that. The new mini plug design is a problem for me, it makes it awkward and uncomfortable in my pocket and it seems to also be the cause of the problems I previously mentioned.

Not comfortable

I do agree with other poster. I am Beats user since 4 years. Wanted to try Bose for the first time. Quality is great but only if you are in quite room. If you wear this earphone outside like in train or in bus or subway.. its not that good. If I am talking about myself, I keep pressing my earphone to make sure it is comfortably fit or not as I hear more noise from outside instead of my music. That is the only drawback that they are not properly fit in the ear. Thanks

SoundTrue™ in-ear headphones — iOS models.

I bought the same set of earphones couple of years back and the quality was excellent. Today, I received a new pair that I ordered last week. The quality of the sound is as expected but the look and feel is cheaper than made in china. The connector used to be right angled, this one is straight and protrudes out quite a bit. The cables are much thinner and cheaper. Not going to get these any more in the future.

Dissapointed - Going back to my Etymotics

The sound quality is weak. The high and mid range frequencies meld together resulting in music that is bland. Lower base frequencies are acceptable. The music reproduction is so bad I find myself switching off the music player much earlier than I normally would. Audio books suffer a similar fate.Ending on a positive note they are comfortable to wear.

good sound but break so fast

on my 3rd pair, all broke within several month of regular use. Sound is great, ear pieces are very comfortable, but have to buy new one every year or so as all parts end breaking inside-outside. Very disappointing manufacturing quality.

SoundTrue in-ear buds

My second pair of Bose earbuds. In between I had a pair of Polk's for using at the gym hoping they would stay in place. Slowly the began to wiggle out so I bought my Bose SoundTrue. The silicone tips are so comfortable that I actually forget they are there. I use them when at the gym. The sound quality is above average. If you are a true audiophile and want superior sound vs. an above average everyday use earbud then you probably need to look elsewhere and plan on spending a lot more. If I had to make a suggestion about improvement I would say that the cable could be a tad thicker and sturdy but even with my first pair that wasn't a problem ... I backed over them. Lots of bass which is what I like but again a lot of the quality comes from the source of the music you are listening to. If you are listening to compressed audio MP3 on your phone then you can't expect perfect quality sound so if take it with a grain of salt for those who review the sound quality and say that is not that good or could be better. Go Bose!

Awsome

Sound quality and comfort are best in class. Go to a bose store to test before buying, you will buy them. As for the case I see it as a fit for purpose item that is by no means a consideration in purchasing. Don't understand the level of concern expressed by other poster. I won't even use the case.

Headphones are great, cheap case

Just bought these headphones for my wife as a birthday present, the headphones are great with a clear sound quality. However, she is not impressed at all with the cheap case. The case has a very cheap look and quality is really bad and not what I have come to expect from Bose (I have bought many BOSE products throughout the years). If you are going to make good headphones, why cut down on the case? There are no pockets in the case at all and basically there is no point of using it. Not what I would expect from a premium brand !!!

Break easily

I got these headphones because I had heard good reviews from everyone that tried them and they were not a let down at first. They had very good sound quality, but after a few months of regular use the covering of the wires started tearing off and then the headphones just died. I'm disappointed in these because they cost so much but didn't last very long.

Upgrade from Last Model

I loved the last model, so much so that I destroyed them with how much I used them. That being said, this new model seems to be a great overall redesign with better materials and a more comfortable feel. I like how they changed the headphone jack to a straight piece instead of an angled piece because on the last model the casing at the bend was the first thing to go. I also like how they moved the volume controls up so that they're closer to your ear - it's easier to find if you're wearing a heavy jacket with a scarf. And as always, the sound quality is amazing - much better than my Beats. The bass is there, treble doesn't get lost, and all my songs sound full.

So So

After using a long time, i'm so disappointed with this product. I searched this product's review before decide to buy it. But, only a haft day for utilizing, my ear is very painful and can't use for a long period time. But the sound is nice.

Glade but let down

These headphones were great without the upgrade, the quality of the materials over all I was very disappointed with compared to the last generation, total bummer. But the sound from what i remember (last gen.) is still the best I've heard when it comes to clarity. So overall greatly satisfied to have them back, but wish these were a step up in the material-build quality
