I have been using this earphone since last 2years. Design of this product is worst and because of the wire is getting torn. Wire quality is also worst, it is worst than Rs. 100 earphone. Never expect this quality from Bose. However sound is amazing.

The build quality is really sub-standard for the price!! And I hate this part. My pair survived only 2 years with the rubber surrounding the earbuds (not the soundtrue eartips) cutting at several places.. I'm thoroughly dejected with the durability... Balanced sound overall.. So much that they would neither please the bass loves nor the treble-lovers.. they're there somewhere in between. Delivers superb mids though.. They say they contribute to R&D in the universities in the US...but should that be done using customer money? hefty money for a substandard product, and fund R&D using the customers pocket?

I bought the Bose earphone a year back. Its very great with sound and comfort but the built material around the wire is so poor. It started to peal off within 6 months of moderate usage.

I bought this airphone for my iPhone 6 Plus. Sound quality is amazing and deep bass groove is too good to hear. But the connecting cable is too thin and broke with in 2or 3 months itself. I gave to the store they replaced with new one and again same problem happened and again I gave to the store and again replaced and 3rd time happened like this. But I had only one year warranty. Finally I vexed and went to the SHURE brand now I am using that one. I totally disappointed with this one and my money also gone waste. Still I love Bose brand headphones and future I’ll buy new type of headphone with good quality of connecting cord if they release better one.

I bought (one) week ago, this is my first Bose headphone, I already have Sennheiser momentum, Shure, Beats. Sound quality is neutral, built quality is not worth for money. You pay for Brand name.

I have been through three separate pairs of this product in the last two years. The cable near the headphone jack and the volume control would always fray and eventually the device would stop functioning. Sound quality is decent, but one would expect better from Bose. Would not recommend due to the shoddy workmanship of the product, its simply not worth it.

Over the past 3 years I have been using these headphones! I love them so much. They are the only pair of headphones that fully fit and give me the best possible sound. 10/10 would recommend

Heard about the problem of this pair, so bought it with a special offer for a try and test. As a big fan of Bose products, never be disappointed with their sound quality. But there are some design problems with this one. The material of the cable shell is the problem, the plastic material itself can stand for long and seems to be able to 'extend the product life' compared with the soft 'rubber' cable. However, with this type of material, noises from any motion and contact with the cable, like vib and scratch, are easily transferred to the earplugs. It seems the plugs will only work well if you sit steady. In addition, after operation for a while, local buckling is noticed close to the joints of the relatively stiff cable and may significantly affect the signal transmission. Furthermore, the cable joint and root material is too 'hard' and would lead to local buckling of the cable itself very easily. Overall, some efforts could be noticed trying to improve the product I guess but non-success with cable design mistakes. Earplugs themselves are still with good quality, comfortable with amazing sound quality.

Bought the lower model and it was great. Bought this one and its HORRIBLE. Cant hear the music properly if you are moving, the interference from the wires moving reverberates back to the earbuds. You can hear yourself breathing !!! Don't buy this product.

Bought this headphones to replace my apple earpods. The idea was to spend a little more in a better pair of headphones but I think it wasn't a good decision. Despite a good sound quality and excellent sound isolation (eventhough they'r not noise cancelling) headphones don't have a good mic. Usually I have to answer a lot of calls while driving or riding bike, with the apple earpods while in a call, people heard me without any problem. With Bose headphones, i'm having trouble when i'm speaking, people can't hear me well. The materials of the actual ear piece is very nice and well made, but the cable has a material that seems a low quality one. I think in less than a year the edges of the cable will peel and break. I also own Bose OE2 and feels better built than this headphones. Hope that the 2 year warranty will cover my product.

Why would anyone make a product specifically for apple devices with a mini jack connector these days. If you were hoping to drop your converter with these headphones look somewhere else. Sound quality isn't good enough to make up for having to use an adapter.

I bought these 1 month ago,was also considering the Klipsch R6i II, I was really on the fence about purchasing these after reading some of the reviews, saying they had very low volume. The ear buds so far have great volumei if there put in your ear canal properly.I had a set of Klipsch S4 that these are replacing, the Klipsch S4 finially gave up on the left ear bud after 5 years.I like these so far the only negatives i can think of is there a little hard to remove once there in your ear canal, unlike the Klipsch which are very comfortable and easy to put in ,and take out of your ear,and the volume buttons are a little high up on the right ear bud, which iam use to having that button lower on the cord, hopefully they will last a long as the Klipsch.

I've loved MEI earphones for 5+ years and been through a few pairs and always come back for more because the sound was truly incredible and the fit was just right. I recenty broke my SoundSport and MEI2 on the same day! I decided to replace with SoundTrue as I couldn't get the MEI2's anymore for android. I couldn't have been more disapointed. The sound quality just isn't the same - sounding less balanced, bass heavy and a little 'dull'. I just can't wear them as they make the music sound underwhelming and less experiential I've managed to glue my old ones for the time being and contunie to use those daily, that's how disappointing these are. I wish I had listened to the other reviews!

I've been using these for a year now, so I've a good idea of what they are like. Firstly I agree with all the negative comments about transmitted noise. Every footfall, every gust of wind, every breath, every rub of the leads against clothing is heard in your ears, so it is a bit like walking in a rainstorm. I can only use them for listening while I'm static or strolling, and only for speech podcasts, as they are virtually useless for running or for music. For that I use my Quiet Comfort over-ear headphones, but they are a bit bulky for on the go. The way the ear hooks wedge into the fold of skin above the ear hole is cunning and surprisingly secure but ... The reason I came here today is to look for replacement rubber tips. Right from new I found these easily come off, perhaps when I pull the buds out of a pocket, or if they rub agains the zip of a coat, but often just when I pull the bud out of my ear! I usually manage to find the dropped tip, but have been reduced to using other sizes (three pairs of sizes come with the kit). Today I lost another one, and am now one handed. It was surprising that nobody else mentioned this in the reviews, so perhaps I am unlucky with these. They do seem to be an aberration of Bose quality, but definitely to be avoided. I'm off to look for customer services now.

This earphones are just awful- I’m on my third replacement under warranty!! I wouldn’t have bothered to go through the rigmarole but it’s a principle now. I just can’t believe that Bose have allowed such a poor product to be released. On the positive side their customer services is very good and thorough when dealing with complaints. However I certainly won’t be calling them again - for a simple reason- I will be purchasing different earphones from now on!

First of all, all my headphones are Bose's, including the QC 35, QC 30, and two QC 20, and this one, the SoundTrue Ultra in-ear. I love them all, except the Ultra in-ear!. This one is unbearable to use for longer than an hour! It builds so much pressure on the ears that makes very uncomfortable, notwithstanding that destroys the sound quality. I swear that after hardly one week using this headphone (less than a total of five hours of use), I had an eardrum rupture in one of my ears! Sure, I love the "StayHear" tips, and this is the reason I purchased this one. But I don't understand why Bose chose a sealed acoustic design; this does not work with the StayHear tips, Bose! You don't have to block outside noise to create a good sound quality headphone. I do write reviews, but I am extremely disappointed!

Used it for about 1.5 year. Sound is perfect, compared to stock samsung/apple trash. The main problem is VERY poor wire quality. I prefer braided wires, but here is not the case. Over time appears glitch: left speaker stopped working.

I am writing this review about the older model (Bose in ear headphones 2008 and 2014). I am not sure weather the problem is still there. I bought two pairs of them one very first when they released around 2008 and the other one in 2014. Both gave me impressive sound and there is no doubt that I am truely happy with the sound quality. But there is always a problem with wires. Both my earphones ended up with broken insulator. but sound quality is still the same. there is no problem with the sound quality. Only the wires does not last longer. I have few Bose products and I love the brand. I think Bose should pay more attention to use reliable wires for their headphones.

I bought it a year and a half ago and I've kept it only in it's carrying case and yesterday, right headphone stopped working! I paid a serious amount of money to it and I love love, love the sound quality and noise cancellation but its durability is so poor. I e-mailed the Boss distributor but they didn't write me back yet. I hope I can get it fixed.

I have had 3 Bose in-ear phones, this ones sound terrible, don't buy them. Poor quality sound, they sound cheap. The design got worse and are unconfortable. Bose didn't let me upload my original review because "profanity".

If you want to buy headphones that you have to return every 6 months because something is always wrong with them these are the ear phones for you! The first time I returned them was because one headphone was louder then the other which they sent me new ones which then proceeded to rip on the bottom area where the jack inserts. When I called they said it was most likely because it was a refurbished pair. You would think the third time is the charm but now about 5 months in with a new pair the buttons for the volume and speaker phone don’t work... awesome I wounder what the next pair that they give me will do.

I bought these in December of 2016 and due to the price took a huge amount of care whit them but they deteriorated at the seam of the connection port and cable within a month i then requested a replacement and revived one after 20 daysbut his second pair has lasted me the same amount of time and this time intsted of just hte sheath breaking the wires themselves must have been affected as neither earphone works. which is a shame because the sound quality is spectactular

I bought this to replace my IE2 in-ear headphones (it broke after 5 years). Unfortunately to me, this headphone's overall sound quality is not as good as IE2. I'm disappointed that the Bass is much weaker than IE2. I hope BOSE restore Bass level similar to IE2 in future in-ear wired headphones. But I am surprised that this product have passive noise cancellation... (maybe because of the design of the new eartips). But to me, noise canceling works better and sounds better than Active noise cancellation QC20 headphones. I am giving me this product a 4 star rating as the quality product is still great overall, the noise cancellation was a plus for me as I was also looking for a good noise cancellation headphone. But it's still not good enough for me to put a 5 star rating as it produces a much weaker bass than IE2. Suggestion: for those who really want the deep bass, or bass level of IE2, try looking for other products.
