Great product
I loved this worked great. Was not big enough to handle my work load. Easy to operate and set up! I returned it and got a bigger machine to scan back larger documents (50pages).

Not for mobile notaries
Says that it scans 20 ppm but when you put in 20 it scans multiple ones at the same time so you have to restart over again also when you start over you can't put them all in one file was you have to start over. Also it has to be plugged into a computer wall for power

Small but Capable and Powerful Scanner

Inconsistent
inconsistent connectivity; will sometimes connect to our computer, other times won't. Even when using the Brother program/app, it doesn't always work which is extremely frustrating.

Versatile copier.
Very useful and fast. I have setup the 'shortcut' feature to scan and make copies using my PC and special software.

I hope brother will look at it and find a solution
This scan is excellent, the only thing is that you can't email to someone from your iPhone or iPad if those are updated
We used to be able to email as PDF before the iPad and iPhone were updated . I have to use an no updated iPad to be able to email from my scan

Not Compatible with Mac OS Ventura
Unfortunately I had to return this item, I have a Mac and this scanner is not compatible with my Mac OS, there was no mention of this when I purchased the scanner & I was disappointed that I was unable to make it work, I was looking for a small scanner that would sit on my desktop without taking up much space and this one seemed to fit the bill, after an hour on line with support I packed it up and returned it.

Wasted Money
I bought this scanner for a certain purpose because it was supposed to be Twain driver compliant and work with Neat Software. But to my dismay Brother isn't going to update the Twain driver for the new Mac O/S. So I wasted my money because without using it for business it's worthless to me. I can't believe a big corporation like Brother renders a machine useless because they decide they don't want to update the Twain driver for Mac anymore.

Set Up Not Very Intuitive
Setting up for remote usage is not easy. If I dont use the machine regularly, I have to reset it. I recently purchased a new laptop and tried to pair it with the ADS 1700 and I'm still not connected. I will reach out to support by phone for assistance.

Scanning out of the box.
The support for feeding legal size paper is short and could be an issue. Overall is a great portable scanner. When scanning several legal size pages can jam, if the page droopes over the document support arms it can drag sideways left or right and jam. I did not see a way to tellascope the supports, but I do not read all the directions unless I have a issue I can not live with. So far I only used the Quick setup guide and the scanner. I have used commerical scanners, desk top scanners, copiers, all in one printers, with and without ADF (Auto Document Feeders) The Duplex scanning and the speed of scanning with the accracy is great. I reccommed it, I now only use my Printer/Scanner for items your not supposed to scan with this scanner.

Had a slight learning curve, but it works quick!
Tried using on my laptop which is running Windows 11. Didn't work. Ended up installing it on my desk top computer running Windows 10. Took awhile to get it configured and setup, but it finally worked. It is much quicker than my multifunction printer.

Great scanner - surprisingly small for the great job it does! I do find pages stick together sometimes but, for most part, it?s fast and efficient.

Product generally performs well
The scanner generally does a good job but sometimes despite 'fluffing" the pages it gets jammed up. It is also best to limit the number of pages to around 15 at a time.

I had an all in one Brother printer scanner fax that was great. This scanner cant scan more than 5 pages at a time. pulls in 2-3 pages at a time - VERY FRUSTRATING!

Scanner review
Overall, this scanner is a great addition to my office. Scans easily, creates single or double sided pdf files quickly, like the compact style. Only challenge is if you have over 10 pages or so to scan, the upright paper holder will not adequately keep pages straight during scanning process and finished scanned pages can be crooked.

Ok Scanner
This scanner has a nice compact form factor and is easy to take on the go. I've scanned over 1,000 pages, and it's still going strong. My only complaint is the scans come out a bit tilted if you're feeding more than 5+ pages at a time.

KEEPS ON TICKING
This machine (ADS-1700W does a great job in a small package. It is more dependable, as far as holding its connection, than my larger, more expensive, Fujitsu scanners. I purchased it to use in travel: in my motorhome, client offices and even in my car. It has worked without fault. One of my best office purchases.

The mechanics work
This scanner works. Physically feeding paper through the scanner is easy, and it feels durable, although I?ve only had it a few months at this point. The app works great. It?s actually the only way I?m able to use this scanner with ease. I tried connecting the scanner to my pc via usb but my computer did not like it and failed to recognize the device. I?m sure there?s a way to fix this, but I haven?t gotten around to it. Probably won?t. I just deal with the extra step of going through the app and sending files to my cloud service.
