It a good machine but I really only use it as a die cutter around stamped images. The online software doesn't have enough content and is a bit cumbersome.

I love my scan n cut. So easy to use yet very powerful machine. Making gifts is so much better and easier now.

Following the Wireless Network Quick Setup Guide - the ScanNCut Online Activation Card 16 alphabet characters under the scratch off does not work. The machine gives a message that it is incorrect. No place allows me to email or send a message for help with this issue on a brand new machine. It shouldn't be this hard to register a product.

This machine has been a great addition to my craft room. Like any teacher we work at home. I am a preschool teacher and always making new games and art projects for my preschoolers. This machine has helped me cut pieces for art projects in minutes! I do wish that the mats we better quality but it hasn't stopped me fom using my cm350. But is there any talk of developing an app for the scan and cut. I use my tablet for most of the designing and it difficult on the browser through the tablet.

I am huge fan of all things Brother - until now. The mats - how much more do I need to spend to get what should have been functional from day one?? LOVE the machine, love the Canvas, HATE the mats. Seriously, I have owned other machines and decided to go full on Brother because I own so many Brother products. The mats for this machine have made cutting for fun into a complete nightmare. No responses ever from Customer Service.

I bought the CM350 to scan and cut complex paper models from printed card stock. The software does not allow me to identify cut lines adequately. For example, the deck of a yacht. The scanner sees the page clearly but the software picks up solid coloring on the deck rather than the edge of the white deck, a thin solid line. It wants to cut out double lines where railing is detailed by an interior line parallel to the edge. I cannot adjust colors, shades or shapes to get it to only cut the outside edge. Then, when cutting simple 1.5 inch disks from the selected patterns, for the wife, the blade cut cleanly through columns 3-6 of the 6 wide by 5 deep grid of disks, but the left sides of the first two rows were not clean cut from the seven to eleven o'clock positions. I had to set blade depth to 5 and score deeper into my mat to get clean cuts. I bought a 12 X 24 inch low tack mat to use with card stock. The standard mat pulled "pills" off the surface of the mat when I tried to lift pages/cut images. The CM350 showed the ability to cut small parts and along lines, but it did not allow enough user input to tie lines together and erase cuts on interior feature lines on model parts. The left side of the carriage guide bar seemed just a bit higher than the right side causing differences in depth of cut from left to right. This lead to separation problems for cuts on the left side. I bought this to cut out models for children in local hospitals.

I make greeting cards so I use the Scan N Cut 2 to cut out stamped images. I was buying the die cuts for the stamps but that was getting very expensive so I figured with this machine, in the long run, it will be much cheaper to cut out my stamped images and not have to buy the dies. I love the machine!!

I don?t think I will ever learn all of the features this machine can do. Every day you learn more and more. I bought it to cut out stamped images and found that it can cut fabric and so much more. The more you play, the more you learn. It was easy to use from first but by watching videos, taking classes or joining FB groups you will be amazed at what you can create. It?s a must for the serious crafter

I am very happy with my ScanNCut 2. The ability to scan images makes it a stand-alone designing and cutting machine as well as using it with the Canvas internet program. I use my machine for an entirely different reason than crafting and quilting. I scan stained glass patterns into the SNC2. Then place a heavy sticky back paper on the mat, load it, and let SNC2 do the cutting out work for me. There is a bit more learning curve to get the results I want than I expected but I'm getting there and as I get comfortable with the sequence it's a great timesaver for me in my stained glass work.

Before my recent retirement, my crafting had been on hold. Now this little machine has begun a whole new chapter for me. I did a lot of research beforehand, and it is a great investment. It saves so much time in fussy cutting, and it's just plain fun!.

only problem is that some of our files are so complex(not really that the machine forces us to take out some of the offending extra detail and put it on an additional stenci lblade has held up very well after cutting 3 mill mylar

I received the machine as a gift from my hubby. He bought me the wireless card to go with it. I already put the card in the machine and then had to send machine back to HSN. It cut my images out like puzzle pieces, not a outlined image. I spent over an hr on phone with you and couldn?t get any help. So sent it back now have a new one but no card for internet. So 50.00 wasted.

Love my Scan and Cut! Bought primarily to cut out stamped images. Watched a couple of YouTube videos before it arrived and it was very easy to use right out of the box. I am not very good at electronic things, so that is a miracle!

The machine cuts great, however, the cutting mat loses it?s tackiness too quickly. I would have also liked better step by step instructions. I had to go online and watch some YouTube videos to figure out how to use it.

One thing that I don't like about my CM350 is that it doesn't cut deep enough. I am having problems in cutting .020 thick styrene sheets. The machine should be designed to cut up to a depth of .250". Another big drawback is buying accessories. I bought my CM350 from Walmart but had to get the deep cutting blade and the holder from Joanne's Fabric Store and even then they only had one of each in stock but didn't have any other supplies for my machine. I know that I can buy these items directly from Brother but if I buy it elsewhere I don't have to pay shipping. I need the clear plastic overlay for my cutting mat as I have damaged mine and can't find it even from Brother. I can get 8 1/2 x 12 inch sheets locally but the sheet on my cutting mat is much larger. But the main issue is where to buy all the accessories from one source besides Brother. Accessories for the Cricut can be found everywhere.

I got this scanncut so I could make my own appliques,. I haven't had a lot of time lately, but did manage to learn about it and how it works. Relitively easy once you get the hang of it. I'm still learning how to scan what I want to cut. Once I get that down pat.....look out world!!

I was given a gift for my birthday in November from my best friend and sister. They asked me what I wanted and I said: "I want a ScanNCut. Due to several factors, I was unable to make the purchase until March but let me tell you, it was so worth the wait! I love the easy unpack and set up and and clear, simple instructions. I recommend this machine to my friends and invite them to my house to see for themselves! The ScanNCut is the star of my craft room!

If you are a card or scrapbook stamping person, this machine is worth the money. No more buying matching die sets that go with stamps. A little loud, but quick and easy and I'm sure I haven't even unlocked all that can be done!

I use both the Cricut and and Scan n Cut. Love the way the scan n cut - cuts but I go back to the cricut for most jobs. I HATE that I cannot access my fonts on my computer! This should not be hard to fix! Come programers get busy! The text converter is an extra time consuming step! It doesn?t even work for the fonts its says it can! I have even tested them on other programs such as MS word, PS and cricut and they display perfectly! I guess if your using this for quilting only its not an issue but It?s a major issue for people doing design work and needing creative fonts! I want to open and create! I don?t want to use to different programs to get the job done!

With all the great YouTube videos, this is a very easy machine to learn and play with! Changing the blade to the pen is so easy and the tools are so easy to adjust to the materials you are using. The mats could last longer for sure, but the trade off is the scanner!

This machine (Brother CM350) has been AHMAZING!!! & so much fun. I have made several cards, a diorama, a banner, tool holder and saved a lot of planned projects directly on the machine. All of the projects I have made are from the Brother or Canvas Workspace site. I love the ease of use, simple to learn, and ability to do not just paper cut outs but vinyl, fabric, and stamps. Have not tried the embossing or rhinestone yet. I also appreciate the variety of projects available on both the Brother site and the Canvas WorkSpace. Doing these simple projects has helped learn the machine and the correct settings for cutting a variety of material. Excellent crafting machine that offers so much to really spark your creativity! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I have not been able to cut fabric without the fabric being chewed up. My local store, just across the street, who is a Brothers dealer, won't give me lessons because they do not sell the CM350. NOT GOOD!!! I would pay to take lessons to learn all about this machine.

A friend has this machine and we borrowed it a lot for a fundraiser I work on. So, I decided to purchase my own. The one thing that really bothered me was that it no longer came with a Users Manual, of course you can get it on-line which is what I did, but that meant I spent a lot of money printing out the manual, so that is why I gave it 4 stars. I myself need the manual because there is a lot of different options and I need to refer back to it. Anyway, the machine it?s self is wonderful. I?ve used it to make favors for a bridal shower, letters for boards, the possibilities are endless. I have not found what I am to use on the mat after it loses it ?stickiness ?. I have looked in the manual but could not find this anywhere, it could be me? This is becoming a bit of a problem as some of the pages are starting to curl up before going into the machine. However, I just ordered a new mat. I can?t keep doing this, so I do need to find out what to use on them to make it sticky again. I have tried to point out any problem just to let you know, but again, the machine is awesome in what it can do!! Just really wish it would have come with the manual. with how much it costs $, but that?s just me, it may not bother someone else.

I am just getting started with this machine but I have owned other cutters in the past and this one seems to be loaded with more features. Having the internal scanner makes many jobs so much simpler.

The only problem that I have is the inadequate word explanations describing what to do . It is confusing to a person who has never used this machine before. Once I learned what to do on my own. It works very well. It is however confusing at first.

I ordered my machine and had it for less than a month. I tried several times to try to figure out the machine, and even call Brother to get some guidance on how to use the machine. I was told that I had to purchase the card to use the designs in which I think is very extreme considering the price of the machine already that should have been with it. I youtube to get information on how to use it and still felt that it was very difficult to figure out for ME. It does give enough fonts, once I save things to my flash drive I still could not pull them up on the machine when I inserted the drive. After many hours of trying to figure it out I got frustrated and sent the machine back.

It's Loud, the extra parts are expensive (mats, blades ect.), For the price i would expect it to include more than one mat... And the included mat ruined most of my paper because it was TOO sticky. It really only worked with vinyl. And foam paper, but still need to get that EXTRA blade because this one's not deep enough. So all in all, as soon as i make enough profit from it im upgrading to the latest model.
