Avoid this product.
Received the "Replace Drum" notice three months after replacing one. In that time, I printed fewer than 1,000 copies--nowhere near the promised 12,000. Now I learned that my printer, HL-L2390dw, is being discontinued. I'm going to buy a new printer, and it won't be a Brother. Tired of paying high prices for toner and drums.

Expensive cost
The drum is expensive for the number of rated copies to be made. Couple that cost with the toner and paper, the per-copy cost is over $.05 per page. Maybe this is acceptable for a small volume user, but not for an office setting where some printing projects are higher volumes.

Would like darker print results
Because my vision is failing due to age-related Macular Degeneration, when my printer indicated a need to "replace drum," I purchased to unit and my daughter who has a masters degree in computer technology replaced the drum unit. I was disappointed with the results as it was not as dark as I was hoping it would be so I asked a tech repair person to see if he could make the text print darker and he was able to do that but the next day it got dim again. I use e-mail and the printer to make copies of my work as a sort of diary that I can enlarge and read.

Good product
The drum we ordered was delivered when promised and has been working ever since we installed it. Not as convenient as running down to Walmart for a replacement, but there was plenty of warning time on the used drum.

Brother is the worst company I ever bought from
Replacing the drum was what appeared on the screen of the printer, so that's what I ordered. All it needed was the toner cartridge. So I ordered the toner, installed it in the original drum. I requested a return of the unused drum and was denied a return because it wasn't damaged. That makes no sense at all. Therefore, will never purchase anything from Brother again.

I have bought this drum at staples and office depot they work as advertised to reset drum counter you got press arrow up and ok than you should see drum press ok then arrow up then ur drum counter is reset and noficaton should disappear hope this helps I never had any issues with this drum I will buy it again in the future

Ran out of ink after less than 300 pages
Is this supposed to be a joke? Just got the printer and starting printing and this thing ran out of ink after only about 300 pages? Where is the 12,000 pages worth of ink?

OEM parts are the only way to go!
OEM parts are the only way to go. I have tried using other 're-manufactured' or 'new' (non-Brother) parts (toners & drums) but they don't last or even work out of the box. I know it's more $$ but in the long run the OEM toner and quality parts from Brother are the only way to go for trouble/frustration free operation. They will save you time and frustration.

Easy to change the drum
I had to replace my drum, and the directions were easy to follow and the new drum is working well. Brother customer support was helpful as well.
