It didn't work. I've only needed to use it once since purchase and it was unable to scan to pdf anything. Kept coming up as total black page rather than text.

Software is a little clunky, but the scanner itself works great. However, it doesn’t seem to be able to scan something much longer than a legal size piece of paper.

Not a great scanner but lives up to expectations and fulfills my needs except I cannot find 2 of the accessories and inquiries about purchasing replacements are not answered. I have very sophisticated scanners but are all too big for the niche this one fills. The manual, like many from Asia, leaves me perplexed; had to contact support more than once because of manual illegibility. For the price, size and performance, I would buy it again but put the flimsy, plastic-wrap accessories in a safe. You lose them and it's say?nara brother!

I was involved in Indy Car racing for years and had many books of photos which I wanted to digitize. I wanted something small that I could just put on the couch as I was watching TV. I have now scanned 1500 pictures with no jams, great color, does both glossy and matte equally well. I would definitely recommend this scanner to anyone. It's also very quick. It scans pictures at 300 dpi with 24 bit color. Can't beat it for the price.

I have owned a business for 34 years and settled on Brother products as the best, Likely purchased 30+ devices. This Scanned is my first Brother item that may be DOA. I had been trying to set it up occasionally, but moved to using my mfc 6870W or Mfc 5520 for scanning.

Been using this scanner since June 2018. Bought a new computer (Mac OS 10.15 Catalina and the scanner no longer works. I have tried all steps laid out on the Brother website to troubleshoot.

Brother says this scanner works with MacOS 10.15, but it does NOT! There is no 64bit driver - not on the DVD and not on their website. The download for the driver uses a 32bit packager that new Macs can't extract. So do NOT waste your money with a scanner that doesn't work for you if you have a Mac that is 10.15 or above.

According to the user manual the driver available for this scanner will scan multiple pages to a single pdf file. NOT TRUE. I bought this scanner because I wanted a lightweight scanner which would scan multiple pages to a single pdf and now I feel cheated.

This little machine does what it says it will do. Fast set up. Easy, quick operation. Much easier to operate than the old flat-bed scanner it replaced. Convenient size for traveling, too.

Scanner worked really well until I tried to update to the latest firmware. Once I clicked on the executable to perform the update, it started going through the steps and then... nothing. The scanner now won't power back on. It appears to be totally dead. I have tried everything, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and software, emailing support, and calling into support. Just got off the phone with the guy who said it was broken and if it was outside the 12-18 month warranty, I was out of luck and would have to pay for the "repair" myself. Highly recommend you don't do the firmware update. Very unhappy with the entire ordeal. Won't be looking to buy Brother products again anytime soon.

this product needs an instruction booklet, or download on the computer, to make the first-time operator less frustrated.... once I figured it all out, it became obvious that printing the actual pages would be difficult...then there seems to be no way to reduce the size of the fonts so that it doesn't take a volume of paper/ink to print the final product.... also, how to delete the first few "saved' entries so that only the final report could be printed on a few pages.... keep trying, please!

Very fast scanning. Duplex works nicely. Nice extra software. Wish the power button scanned with one touch, but still incredible. Very portable. Wish it had more than 600dpi, though. Great for receipt storage. I really appreciate that I can remove it from my desk when I don't need It!

Great interface with Mac’s, one step email when you scan...quick and easy and you don’t have to create a document with the scanner Manufacturer to save items. Simplistic and thorough, highly recommend.

small, lightweight, fast. Since it is powered via USB you can keep it in a desk drawer and just take it out and plug it in when you need it. In my opinion the resolution is good enough for photos, I haven't had any problems with paper jams, it scans little 1.5" x 1.5" as well as a full sheet, just line the edge up with the guide and it catches the paper, hit the scan button on screen and it feeds right through.

I need ability to select scan area from a page. The software is pretty good but I have to be careful. When going from one page to the next it will change your inputs rather than say "out of bounds." If my X offset added to X width is too large it will change one of them to who knows what. So, I learned how to do it. Otherwise, it's great. Compact, quiet, easy, accurate, portable and quick.

I am quite pleased to have purchased the 720D scanners. I don’t need a big contraption that takes up a lot of room, so this slim model is proving perfect for my needs. Another plus was the patient, efficient online assistance I received during my install. As they say, “It’s all good.”

Not so much for me. Scanner scans fine, so if you want just a portable scanner, then this is great. but the software to take receipts to digital, or the business cards to outlook, this is the poor part. I didn't get the business card software, and the link support gave me sent me to instructions to load my cdc (the one i don't have. the receipt software is just goofy. you scan it in pretty easy, but the OCR part is where you move boxes around to try and help it figure out what is what on the receipt. just moving boxes takes about the same time as typing it in, and it gets no faster after you do a few. and then the boxes are not resizable or changeable in order. so you cant put them where you want. but it all pretty much means the scan to a receipt part of the scanner is not useful unless you want a bitmap of the receipt.

Scanner works fine for most jobs but after six months or so will not scan drivers licenses. License is fed in and stops momentarily half way through, resulting in massive distortion of the scan. Got rid of one and bought another, same problem developed. It's a shame since I otherwise have been satisfied with it.

The Brother Mobile Scanner is great for scanning longer documents that won't fit on a flatbed scanner. It is easy to set up and not too big for transporting. It fits standard width documents

I needed a duplex scanner to scan signed documents to PDF for FAX submittals from my computer. Also for electronic record keeping. The only improvement is that I would like is for it to create an OCR'd PDF. I was spoiled working with high end scanner applications, Excellent PDF's for the price
