The BlackRapid FastenR-T1 for Manfrotto Quick Release plate is a great addition to my setup. I am often switching between walking around with my camera on my BlackRapid Strap and mounting it on my tripod. With the FastenR-T1, there's no time spent putting the quick release plate back on or taking it off when the tripod is used. Although a bit expensive, it is a great investment that I do not regret.

This is one of those items you wish they sold at time of purchase. It makes it much easier to go from my Black Rapid strap to my 3LT tripod. Just wish I hadn't waited so long to purchase it. I have had great success everytime I've chosen Adorama to make a purchase.

I use this with a Black Rapid sport2 strap in conjuncion with my Manfrotto 496rc2ball head. I can go from strap use to monopod or tripod use in the blink of an eye.This makes a complete system for me. No matter the shooting day I'm always ready.

I bought it 2 months ago to fit with my 3leggedthing plate and tripod, as well as with my black rapid rs of course. I don't know if many people will need that, but I think this should always come with the black rapid straps (or come as the original thing, and not the other one). Just a very useful and nice piece of metal that changes life (when you use BR and have the convenient tripod).

Please don't attach your Black Rapid strap to the ring on your Manfrotto quick connect. It's not made for it. Pay the extra money and get the right thing. It's just not worth the chance. How much money is hanging there?

If you routinely use a monopod and or a tripod with a quick disconnect system along with a camera strap such as a Black Rapid, you need this little gem. It replaces the 1/4X20 screw that holds the very popular Manfrotto PL-200 quick release plates to your cameras or lenses. They then have a small "bail" that flips out to provide a place to hook your camera strap onto. The bail is strong enough to support even the heaviest cameras and lenses. The entire combination allows you to go from camera bag to monopod/tripod and then to a camera strap without having to fiddle with screwing things in and out. Its quick, simple, and safe. And this setup is also very trim without having to deal with big mounting contraptions bolted to your nice gear.

One of the biggest pit falls to me of camera straps that mount to the tripod mount on my camera is that I am always swapping the mounting plate and strap on the camera. Then I discovered the Blackrapid strap. They fact that they made a strap that works with the mounting plate system of my various heads helped convince me that this was a product made by photographers, for photographers.

The fastener is a great idea, but doesn't seem much stronger than the original one. It allows you to use the monfrotto plate with the black rapid. Keep a close eye on the screw and washer over time to make sure the camera stays secure!
