Get a Grip
The FX5 Base Kit forms a complete Sony FX5 cage, giving you plenty of rigging real-estate without compromising on camera size. Our Right Side Plate contours to the camera for comfortable handheld shooting, as well as a selection of 1/4" accessory mounts. On the other hand (literally), the NATO Wing Grip sits offset from the camera: making it easy to hold for handicam shots whilst also offering easy access to camera inputs. And of course, it is covered in bolt-on and quick-release rigging options.

Easily Handled
Though we have our own robust range of Top Handles, we know that there are plenty of FX5 users shooting with the camera's native XLR handle. We've designed our Floating Top Plate so that you don't have to choose between rigging and handling. Once secured around the XLR handle, the support posts at the front and rear help stabilize the plate for even the shakiest of shaky-cam shoots.

Open Rigging
Our FX5 Bottom Plate is forward-facing in more ways than one. Of course, the camera is kept aligned by two mounting screws and anti-twist lips; but the built-in Arca compatibility means you can also mount it to a huge range of options. If you're running a stripped-back rig, just clip it into an Arca tripod, or you can attach it into our OpenRig ecosystem if you're wanting to go truly cinematic.

Low-Profile
For a more stripped-back setup, the FX5 Base Kit helps you keep things clean. Rig the essentials with the Corner Top Plate, with a QD socket for straps and a Cold Shoe slot for a microphone, eye-light or monitor mount. And for hooking that monitor up, the HDMI Clamp included in the Base Kit prevents loss-of-signal by holding your cable in place.

The cage maximizes access to the camera's buttons and inputs, with dedicated cutouts for dummy batteries, drop-in filter housings and cable management.

Go Vertical
The Sony FX5's Open Gate sensor means you can shoot for almost any aspect ratio. But if the client only wants 9:16, or you're DOP-ing a vertical drama, you can mount the camera vertically for maximized resolution. Add our NATO Clamp for Vertical Shooting to clip the Wing Grip, so you can get the right angle at a right-angle.

For FX5s featuring the detachable EVF, the Floating Top Plate is incompatible - though the Corner Top Plate can be used without issue.
