Brother MFC-L2820DW - Excellent machine

Finally fed up, after years of having to perform multiple runs of print head cleaning every time I wanted to use my inkjet printer, I decided to spring for a laser printer for home. The MFC-L2820DW was relatively easy to set up on my home network, and every printed page is crisp, clean, and easy to read. Plus, every time I print something, I'm thrilled at the ease and convenience of just printing a page without all of the messing around with ink jets and their far-less-than-ideal results. Okay, so, maybe I'm easily thrilled, but I do wish I'd made this change years ago. Now, I'm sort of wishing that I'd gotten the color version of the laser printer. Later, maybe.

Terrible, missing installation & setup documents

The unit performs fine, but it came with no unit specific installation/set-up instructions. Worse, installation required the unit's IP Address, which was no where to be found, and there were no instructions as to how or where to find it. And the Brother webpage was absolutely useless. So, if you are not a knowledgeable IT Professional (i.e., a Certified Geek), this unit is NOT for you - unless you want a brick.

Great all in one

After getting sick of ink jet printers clogging, I bought this. I was prepared to spend more but this printer had great reviews. To install it, you basically turn it on and download an app. This is a great printer and copier. I have not had a single problem. I haven't tried the scan function yet.

A no hassle printer - really

After spending too much on ink and dealing with near constant inkjet problems (paper not feeding, scanning crooked, print not clear enough...), I chose this printer. I don't miss color, love the clear type, duplex printing is seamless, scanning is flawless, no midnight ink runs, I love this printer. For my small business, it's priceless. Great value.

Brother L2820DW Printer Review

Printer working good after setup. Setup process made difficult by lack of printed user manual like previous model. Had to stumble through online information from Brother and Microsoft. Not instantaneous by any means. Allow plenty of time. Looking forward to it being as reliable as the 7820N which still works fine but no driver available for Windows 11

can't download software

I have had my printer for a month and I can't figure out how to connect wireless so I have not been able to download my software to use the fax and scanning features. I have called three time to the help desk and have not gotten a return call. Not sure where to go from here.

Great all round printer / scanner / copier

Excellent all around printer, scanner and copier, and a great price. It's a huge upgrade over my prior HP, and much more affordable long term with the toner prices. Everything just worked out of the box - printing from Windows, Chrome and iOS and scanning also. Automatic duplex is amazing- will halve the amount of paper we will use!
