I purchased this Brother printer because Consumer Reports said it was the most "ink friendly" and wouldn't put me in the poor house. It has proven to be true over time.

I have same problem as previous review. I hardly use color printing.if ever. First printer I own that requires replacing color at same time as black. What good is black 2 pack . I still need color all the time. Would neverNEVER buy Brother again.

Have been using these cartridges w/ MFC-J450DW. I use the printer rarely for grey-scale printing.. I am very certain that the color ink cartridges gradually empty themselves without any color printing. Perhaps it happens when the cartridge heads are cleaned, but it seems like a scam that costs me more money. Would love for the company to address this concern.

I have to keep it turned off or else it cleans itself almost daily and uses up the ink doing that. The only reason I bought this is to have a color wireless printer. I have spent way too much money buying cartridges when it eats the ink cleaning itself. I hardly ever need the color function so this is a waste of money.

Until recently I have no problems, unfortunately since I placed it in my home office it occasionally loses Wi-Fi connection. I must say the tech help is the best. Always patient and helpfully.

This printer is the 2 one i have gotten. I bought the old model of this one several years ago. after having 2 other brands.. Brother is and will be the only brand / model i will buy. I like the new wireless system on this one , being able to do my work and not having to be attached to the printer.

I had used perhaps ten brands since 1983, before settling on Brother inkjet and laser printers about 5 years ago. All were straightforward to install and are working well with my and my wife's computers. The 450 is the first I've used in wireless mode.

I like my new printer so far, I haven't had it for long now. It has done what I asked it to do. I think the paper tray could be more substantial, the paper guides are difficult to maneuver. And it is not easy to get the paper out when re-loading with envelopes. It would be much easier if there were a finger dip in the tray.

Paper feed sometimes erratic. The printer pulls in too many sheets at once. Periodically goes to "Offline" status. When "Off line" it is very difficult to get it back on line.

I got this printer for use at home and use it for printing out papers for my college classes and have tried out just about all the features except for the fax. So far this printer has exceeded my expectations. It was extremely easy to set up and connect to my wireless network. This is probably one of the easiest to use printers I have owned.

For a non-tech person, this machine is too complicated. Taking out the paper tray is not smooth. Turning the printer on and off is confusing.It is difficult to tell when the machine is off or in sleep mode. The printer does not respond quickly enough to the commands so one starts over and then finds out the printer is just SLOWWWWWW responding. The printing speed is slow.

I purchased the printer not knowing what to expect as this was the first time I purchased a Brother product. It was so east to install and easier to hookup to the wireless network, the wizard did it all. I have had problems trying to use the scan and fax from computer feature but that is more my problem than a problem with the printer.

Loved it from day one. With so many wireless devices around the house that need quick prints, it was why I ordered this printer. The only thing that still freaks me out is when it cleans itself. Black and White or Color are flawless.

I bought this printer mainly because of the automatic document feed. I wish I had bought another brand. The document feed works fine, the color printing leaves a lot to be desired. The colors all look washed out. Scanning is a royal pain. I have never been able to get it to scan properly. The aggravation with this printer is so high I'm considering going back to my old printer even though it doesn't have the automatic document feed.
