If you you're not a heavy user of the printer, as I am, you can really only expect less than a hundred pages from a set of ink cartridges. Often less. Don't know where it goes. So I pay about $30 every few months when my printer tells me there's no ink, again.

I have had my Brothers Printer for fifteen years and have only used Brothers Replacement cartridges. I have never had need for service to my printer.

I have had brother printers, they had them on our job. Laser were first and inkjet was the latest for detailed printing and making my own photos.

This is the second time I"ve purchased LC201CL 3 pkg. They do not have the locking guard and the in in 2 is empty. I purchased on Amazon first, sent them back. Second one I purchase at Office Depot same thing. Do you not make ones with the locking devise on????

I don?t print at home very often but with grandchildren I am starting to do more. I had purchased some new ink cartridges, but never installed. I recently tried to print out some color and replaced with new cartridges. Unfortunately, they had expired and the machine will not acknowledge that there are brand new ink cartridges installed, so it won?t print anything. I continually have my ink cartridges expire before I?ve used even a quarter of them.

Many times machine says empty, I keep printing until is refuses to print. Then I remove cartridge and shake it. (Also make sure printer is level) Sometimes I get a few more prints out of it. Whenever possible I print black and white only. Remove unnecessary graphics from printing.

Reading all the one star reviews is comforting and dispiriting. It?s obvious that these ink cartridges are inferior. I replace more ink cartridges than printing paper. What a crappy product. I just wrote to their customer service today before reading the terrible reviews. It?s depressing to know I?m stuck with an inferior product. No more Brother printers for me.

I just bought ink . I put it in my michine and iI went on a trip for three weeks I came back and I started to do some printing ansd a sign came on that said I was low in ink. . I purchased this ink from Staples and within 12 pages of printing it ran out of ink. I also purchased the XL thinking I would be able to print documents with just black in, however that also ran out after a few pages. I will be searching for an alternative ink provider. It is frustrating when I am in the middle of printing and all of a sudden I get a ink needed message!!

Just put a new cartridge in and barely got 100 pages. I print in grayscale and ink saver mode. This printer has cost me more money in ink then the original price of the printer. I am reading that everyone is having the same issue with Brother ink cartridges and when they reply to your review they tell everyone the same thing. Page size, font size etc. BS Would give 0 stars if able. I will be getting rid of the Brother printer and purchasing another brand printer. And they never answer emails.

I printed a few pages and out of ink. I buy Brother Brand Cartridge so I will not have problems, but I would have to buy these by the case load to keep printing. I'm not sure if I will have to buy another printer.

I purchased a brand new Brother color ink cartridge set from Staples for my J885DW. I got exactly 10 pages of color prints before the ink completely ran out. This is unacceptable. I have had other cartridges that upon install did not show 100%.

A few months ago, I bought this 3-color set and a black cartridge. All 4 cartridges emptied out after just I printed out about 10 pages (black and white, with no color) because I print infrequently, and apparently the cartridges all dried out. A month ago, I bought another 3-color set and another black cartridge. This time the printer would not recognize the yellow cartridge, with error message that it is empty even though it is not. (I had not printed any color pages, and there is plenty of yellow ink in the clear square window.) Also, I can't print out any black pages (grayscale printing setting) because the one yellow cartridge is erroneously recognized as empty.

The inks installed on Monday, 3 colors plus 1 black. We printed 1 page black. Currently all 3 colors showed about 75% left and the black about 85%. This is crazy! The previous sets of ink were gone after printing less than 50 pages black and maybe 20 pages color (it?s maybe 10!). What?s up Brother? Fix it!

I ordered this ink and installed it into my printer. I printed one document in color and it only came up in faded black and white. The printer then prompted me to perform a cleaning, so I did. It then printed out a test sheet for the ink which only showed up with the black toner. It prompted me to do the same again and the same thing happened. After this I received a message that the cyan and yellow were empty. I called Brother support and they told me that the 2 cleanings could have emptied my 260 yield ink cartridges and that I needed to buy new ones. I explained that I had only printed one thing with the new cartridges and she told me I would not receive a refund and needed to buy new cartridges. Very frustrating.
