Its the GOAT! Brother MFC-J1205W
Left my Epson in the dust. Almost everytime I needed to make a copy with it, I had to clean the heads . After doing that, maybe a few times I would need to replace ink. and/or paper from ink test. which was expensive. Not to mention the fact of having to go and buy it. After all this I finally get to print my copy, With any luck. With my Brother MFC-J1205W I hit the print button....THATS IT !!!!

Horrible product, out of date
This product is so out of date that even when I bought a new one, it will NOT connect to my internet!!! I have this $129 piece of junk that I can't even use and it's brand new!! I am so angry!!

Printer works with iMac but not with MacBook Pro
I have two (3) Apple products: an iMac, a MacBook Pro and an iPad. The Brother printer works well with the iMac, is unusable with the iPad and does not function with the MacBook. I have downloaded and installed the printer driver for the MacBook - twice. The printer sends a message each time I try to print, "printer not found." I can do a "work-around" for printing PDF, but cannot print from "Word" documents or any other non-PDF formats. I am a composer and need the printer to function for music manuscripts, as well as other documents. I have not yet called for support services, but if anyone out there can give some advice or user insights, I would certainly be grateful.

Think Before Buying
This is a difficult printer to set up as you need to use an app and takes patience to get up and going. Also, you can only scan one page at a time. I dislike using it. Also, they are always trying to sell you ink even when 50% full.

Ideal machine for home use. Easy to operate.
Nice simple machine ideal for home use. Easy to operate but I do miss the on screen icon functions available on other brother machines.

Not Recommended
This is the second time in my life purchasing a Brother printer. It is just plain awful. It's slow, colors are not good, and rarely prints clearly. I only bought this because of the price. I hate HP because of ink. But I am on my 3rd printer from them in over 25 years. You cannot beat that, but their ink prices suck. I will never purchase another Brother printer they just stink. But Brother labeling product I use almost every day are fantastic.

Great machine
Love the Tank printer, much more economical especially with the feature to default to eco mode. However, the open time on the brother app can be long and the update process can be really long.

After two other printers within months of purchase and nothing but continued problems, we purchased this Brother printer and couldn't be happier. Hopefully it will give us years of dependable service.

Good but hard to connect.
Good but hard to connect. Two Macs (desktop and laptop) and Windows work computer had issues connecting. Deleted and re-added device. Download of software was inconsistent in options available to download. More creating, installing, deleting finally got the devices to connect. First time I had this much trouble connecting to a Brother printer. Previous experiences were great.

Whatever Happened to 'Owner's Manuals?'
Excellent printer but, like most hardware these days, it arrived without instructions other than how to turn it on. Finally found a YouTube with someone who spoke English without a heavy accent that I could understand and slowly have learned how to use its various functions. I especially like the scanning feature that includes OCR.

Very convenient
I love this printer! The wireless feature couldn't be more perfect!! Wasn't hard to set up, no internet issues, and printing straight from phone is amazing.

Printers Jams
This is a great printer. Except that it keeps paper jamming. I have followed all instructions.Nothing seems to fix it long term. I have to repeatedly unjam the stuck paper and try again. I usually get about 2 printed lately before it jams again. Thats an inconvenience. I'm hoping I don't have to invest in fixing the printer as it's used minimally.

Update issue needs resolution
Works great. The only issue so far is trying to update. I get a notification and when I try to update it gives me an incorrect password message. I've not changed it and I'm reading it right off the back of the machine. Most annoying!!!

Quiet & quick (only prints 1 page side) printer
Very nice printer. Have only one issue with it. It doest print on both sides of the paper. Miss this feature from my older printer. But overall the printer is quiet & quick

Fast and Quiet - but . . .
I have had the MFC-J1205W now for about a month and overall am very pleased with the speed and quality of the print. Currently I'm frustrated with the printer because for no reason I can find - the wifi has stopped working, and I don't believe there is a way to print with a USB connection. Two days ago I reloaded the printer driver and partway through it started printing stored print jobs. Frustrating!

Paper feed awkward
Although the print quality is quite good, this printer is awkward to use. The paper feeder has to be removed to insert paper, making it a real pain to insert 1 sheet to print on scrap paper. Also the printer never seems to shut off, a waste of energy.

It does not connect to Wi-Fi after trying multiple times. But the print quality is pretty good.

Mostly good
This printer is easy to set up and use. So far, the ink is lasting through heavy use. However, I find the colors to be somewhat washed out looking, not vibrant. This is concerning since I'm an art instructor and use printouts of photos for art references.

Best choice for excellent service simple operation
This is by far the simplest easiest most direct printer I have had. Two side printing is a snap. Reloading ink is so easy. I would recommend this printer.

Works great but difficult to set up on network
Printer works fine now but we had to call geek squad in from Best Buy in order to get it on our wireless network. Very little instruction provided by manufacturer.
