Excellent product. Easy to operate. Quality printing

Great printer!

Love the Tank printer, much more economical especially with the feature to default to eco mode. However, the open time on the brother app can be long and the update process can be really long.

Great machine

After two other printers within months of purchase and nothing but continued problems, we purchased this Brother printer and couldn't be happier. Hopefully it will give us years of dependable service.

Well done Brother!

Good but hard to connect. Two Macs (desktop and laptop) and Windows work computer had issues connecting. Deleted and re-added device. Download of software was inconsistent in options available to download. More creating, installing, deleting finally got the devices to connect. First time I had this much trouble connecting to a Brother printer. Previous experiences were great.

Easy to set up

Excellent printer but, like most hardware these days, it arrived without instructions other than how to turn it on. Finally found a YouTube with someone who spoke English without a heavy accent that I could understand and slowly have learned how to use its various functions. I especially like the scanning feature that includes OCR.

Whatever Happened to 'Owner's Manuals?'

I love this printer! The wireless feature couldn't be more perfect!! Wasn't hard to set up, no internet issues, and printing straight from phone is amazing.

Very convenient

This is a great printer. Except that it keeps paper jamming. I have followed all instructions.Nothing seems to fix it long term. I have to repeatedly unjam the stuck paper and try again. I usually get about 2 printed lately before it jams again. Thats an inconvenience. I'm hoping I don't have to invest in fixing the printer as it's used minimally.

Printers Jams

Works great. The only issue so far is trying to update. I get a notification and when I try to update it gives me an incorrect password message. I've not changed it and I'm reading it right off the back of the machine. Most annoying!!!

Update issue needs resolution

Very nice printer. Have only one issue with it. It doest print on both sides of the paper. Miss this feature from my older printer. But overall the printer is quiet & quick

Quiet & quick (only prints 1 page side) printer

Setting up wireless internet is difficult. Once connected printer does not always stay connected.

DO NOT BUY any Brother printer. The software the force you to install is invasive and annoying.

I have had the MFC-J1205W now for about a month and overall am very pleased with the speed and quality of the print. Currently I'm frustrated with the printer because for no reason I can find - the wifi has stopped working, and I don't believe there is a way to print with a USB connection. Two days ago I reloaded the printer driver and partway through it started printing stored print jobs. Frustrating!

Fast and Quiet - but . . .

Although the print quality is quite good, this printer is awkward to use. The paper feeder has to be removed to insert paper, making it a real pain to insert 1 sheet to print on scrap paper. Also the printer never seems to shut off, a waste of energy.

It does not connect to Wi-Fi after trying multiple times. But the print quality is pretty good.

Wi-Fi connection issues

This printer is easy to set up and use. So far, the ink is lasting through heavy use. However, I find the colors to be somewhat washed out looking, not vibrant. This is concerning since I'm an art instructor and use printouts of photos for art references.

Mostly good

This is by far the simplest easiest most direct printer I have had. Two side printing is a snap. Reloading ink is so easy. I would recommend this printer.

Best choice for excellent service simple operation

Printer works fine now but we had to call geek squad in from Best Buy in order to get it on our wireless network. Very little instruction provided by manufacturer.

Works great but difficult to set up on network

Excellent printer copier-good clear copies. Easy to operate and set up.

Excellent copier

They advertise it as one year of Ink included. I ran out of Ink one month After having it. Was the main reason I purchased the printer. Also in order to print double-sided, you need to print one side, take it out, flip it, and then put it back in to print the other side, very inconvenient. Finally, they make it impossible to find a phone number to call to speak to somebody regarding the situation.

Was a great printer, for about a year. Will not connect to WiFi anymore. Had to purchase a cable to use it.

Stopped connecting to WiFi

Printer is hood but the orinter driver apparently never gets installed in windows 11. The iprint icon in the tray always say printer driver needs installed and it never changes. Install program never completes znd always stops at you need to.install the driver. Good printer. Horrible software.

Good deal!

Bargain price on this model, looks identical to the pricier MFC-J1205W; I heard the 1215 was made for Walmart. Very good print quality; I did some labels and found the matte paper setting with normal quality to be nearly as good as the best quality, fine for my purposes.
It's compact, which was important for me, but not as fast as my old HP Deskjet; however, I was glad to be rid of the HP - expensive cartridges and constant problems with refills or aftermarket ink. The tank-type cartridges are smarter, and being able to replace a single color is great, with HP you throw the whole tricolor cartridge away when any one color runs out. Nice that you can get different sizes too.

Great print quality and small size; economical

So much better than my previous printer. Prints with ease.

Best printer

My main printer, a Brother MFC-J5855DW, works well with my iMac Combo desktop and MacBook Air laptop. The MFC-J1205, however, does not. My computer technician was also unable to make it work, and concluded that it is incompatible with these machines. Now, it's just an expensive, oversized copier.

Not happy

After two years the ink system quit working. I can print black only at this point. Called customer support who thought there may have been something wrong with the color ink cartridges so they sent brand new. This did not fix the problem and since the unit was out of warranty suggested I go buy a new one.

Quality Product and Support

Very good printer but it is NOT wireless. I had a wireless from another maker and all it said was "offline" all the time so I got rid of it and got this Brother one which was advertised as wired. The only thing was it did not come with the wire to connect it to my pc so I had to find out what it needed and order one from an online supplier. So please, next time include the wire that is needed to hook it up. I had to wait a number of days for it to arrive so I was without a printer.
