Known Problem with MFC-J6555DW
This is my 2nd Brother Printer. Bought this thinking it was as good or better than 1st. Not the case. Something broke inside the printer, so they sent a new one. Same noise happened again. If there is a known problem, please fix it and not just send a new one.

Despite the noise, a pretty decent printer
We did quite a bit of research, and settled on Brother for the best value with the most features. We're counting on ink to last longer than with our recently retired Epson. At the momnet, the only downside is that it's just as noisy as other ink jet printers. I wish someone could manufacture an inkjet printer that is as quiet as a laserjet. Print quality and paper size features are great.

Great home office solution
High quality machine w/ 11 by 17 support. Brother doesn't force customers into their ink subscription program, as HP tries some hard to do.

Great and fast Printer, little to complain about
Great Printer!! Ink Capacity is outstanding, fantastic speed, printing 2 sided automatically is wonderful; only glitch is expected the paper selection to be more intelligent, printing large format is cumbersome.

Family Multiuse Printer
This replaced Brother MFC-J5530 that lasted 4 years. We love our new printer. We use the printer for homeschool, sewing patterns, photos, recipes, records and documents and other crafts. The print quality is amazing, photos look good, even on plain paper,

Device connection
Does not connect to devices well. Overall I've had a hard time getting it to stay connected. When I reconnect it's a whole process.

Versatile Reliable machine
Altho larger and heavier than the machine it replaced, I have found that the J6555 produces a consist, well priced image.

Large, difficult to operate copy machine
The instruction manuel is overer 600 pages. It is difficult to follow because it gives too many choices when all you want to do is FAX, or copy with the proper orientation, or etc. When we were able to reserect my old machine, I use it to fax in a fraction of the time. Using it is not intuitive.

Difficult to use and no Customer Support
Unfortunately, at our office we have had a hard time with our new printer. Sometimes it prints so slowly that we have to use our old one, so we keep our old one plugged in in the back room in case we are in a hurry and need something printed faster than the Brother printer is capable of. We also can't seem to get the scanner portion to scan directly to our emails which is important in an office environment. I am not the most tech-savvy, but I know my way around a printer/scanner and I have never had one so difficult to use. Even our IT team hasn't been able to fix the issues we have with the Brother printer. But, the part that is the most frustrating for me, is that I reached out to customer service for help and they completely dismissed me on multiple occasions. Their job is to help and that they absolutely did not, so that is where the majority of my two star review comes from.

Print Powerhouse
Our work entails very high-volume printing. The this model came out we purchased one and have now purchased another of the same model, they are work horses as far as printers go.
We not only print hundreds of daily work orders for our business but also create our own Christmas cards, Occasion cards, Business cards and more. This printer does it all.
And for scanning documents, link to your computer and away you go, scan, save and email when/as needed.
We keep it clean, always change the ink per instructions.
We will purchase again as our needs grow.

Great Tool
This printer is now our third one for our company. It works great for all of our standard sheets as well as our 11x17 printing that we do a lot of. My only wish for this printer is for it to have a second tray rather than keeping the tilt out back feeder loaded. This J6555DW series printer also does a great job of wireless scanning of both letter and tabloid size sheets and all the features have worked as advertised

Lousy customer service
Overall, I was going to give the product a 5 but customer service a 1. That has now slipped down as I've had the product for a while. This is my second Brother printer/scanner & the first was great. This one is a constant frustration switching between the ledger size & letter size. After 3-5 hours of wait time each time (no joke), they don't seem to be able to resolve. So, customer service is nonexistent.

Nice....but frustrating when printing checks.
Use at work. Only problem is that when printing checks, many times the printer picks up more than one at a time and screws up the numerical sequence causing a lot of extra work and wasted checks due to VOIDs. Also, don't like having to close output tray to put paper in. No single sheet (ie check or letterhead) insert capability. Have to close output and open paper tray to do anything. But really nice printer.

Ok paper handling (minimal jams) & ok text quality
Automatically duplexes 11x17. Text is good, not great. The MFC-J6935DW I had seemed to be better. Ink usage is fair. Maybe about the same as the J6935DW. It's going to be very expensive to refill this printer but I decided not to switch to Epson because the paper handling on the Brother seems to be much better and jams take more time and cause more problems than expensive ink.
I wish the text quality was a little better since I use it to print books and journals for my small bookbinding business. I ran the J6935DW into the ground and I guess I took its text quality for granted. With this model, even at "Best" quality, text seems fuzzy with some dot pitch gain-even on my good quality papers, which are the same as I've used for both printers. I also miss the extra paper tray, but for the price difference between this and the model above, I am ok.

Junk - Look at Others
Junk - Black print head went bad in less than a year. Real tough to keep throwing ink at it with the prices for the refills. Seriously disappointed that I can spend that kind of money on an all-in-one and it doesn't even make it past the starter inks that came in the box. How is this ok?

Fabulous for general office and fine art
This is the second of this line I have purchased and all I can say is that it delivers. I can scan, copy, print photos and for me this important -- fine art prints. I am an academic and an artist and I can make gorgeous prints with this little machine.

Not worth the effort
How on Earth does this have a 4 star average? This thing is in CONSTANT need of something: alignment, nozzle cleaning, ink... I'm not exaggerating when I say it needs some attention half the time I use it. If you don't use it regularly, the nozzles get clogged. It also warns you prematurely that ink levels are low, probably in an effort to sell more ink. Likewise, DO NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE or you will not be able to use generic inks.

iPrint & Scan Document Rotation Failure
There needs to be a manual setting for setting the image rotation of scanned documents within Brother iPrint&Scan application. Presently, a setting of "None" or "Auto" Image Rotation results in the image rotated incorrectly by 90 degrees. This is especially the case when the original document lacks text as is the case with photos.

Great printer for multiple needs
Great printer. I use it to print labels for greenhouse pots. It is able to handle the heavy, glossy blank labels. The ink system is great. Cartridges life is good. Scanning is great. Prints documents fast and high quality.

This is a physically big machine with equally big performance. Prints, scans and copies surprisingly fast. Super fast and easy to install. Large ink reservoir is just another plus.

Excellent printer; outstanding scanner
I do a lot of scanning of magazines, and often they are too large for a standard scanner. Therefore, I chose this Brother printer because it has a very large scanner. I have not been disappointed. The printer works very efficiently. I must confess that I had some difficultly in getting the printer set up because the instructions are not the most user-friendly. If you are not tech savvy, you might have to get someone to help you. However, I am pleased with the printer, and it is filling my needs.
