Fine for a printer, but if you need a scanner...

As a printer it works fine... As a scanner, the software isn't great. It does a poor job of handling odd paper sizes, especially when you use the glass rather than the automatic document feeder. The auto-feeder can skew the pages even when you're careful setting the alignment. All in all, it's not awful but it's annoying and given the opportunity, I'd probably purchase something with a better scanner interface.

A hit and a miss

I bought two machines. One is working fine. The other is a complete failure. It is jamming every page and only good for scanning. Due to travel I have missed return window so stuck with it.

Great printer for the money and ease of use.

I wish I had bought this as my second printer. We basically use it to print my wife's music for choir. I had an Epson XP830 printer before and for what I spent on their color cartridges I could have bought 3 of these printers. We love this printer, so fast and clear. Very Easy to set up.

Great printer!

This printer works much better than the horrible HP printer I recently purchased. This printer prints very quickly! It saves me so much time. The one thing you have to watch is, if you are printing a big job, don't let too many printed pages stack up or it will jam. The toner seems to run out quickly too, so I recommend to get the extended toner. Otherwise, I love this printer!

Can't update because for some stupid reason you need a password for updating the printer??? The default password on the machine doesn't work, don't bother with Brother.

Works well, but Buttons are Confusing

This device works well, looks good, but the buttons and sequence of what to press in which order is confusing. I just guess. The scanning works well and (unlike my previous Epson) this unit pulls a stack of documents through the top without jamming.

Overly Complicated

The hardware works great, that deserves 5 stars, but the driver, setup and web interface is so much more complicated then it needs to be. I do not recommend for low-tech users or users without constant WIFI access

Nice printer!

This printer is replacing a Cannon ink jet printer as I finally got fed up with clogging ink jet nozzles! I don't really need color prints so this black only laser jet is perfect for my applications. Setup was quick and easy and with the Brother app I really enjoy the ability to print directly from my cellphone. I should have bought this years ago! Used it a dozen times so far and its not obnoxiously loud and takes up a reasonably small footprint.

Great Price Point

Outstanding product - relatively easy set up. Only minor irritant is typing in WiFi password using up/down arrows with ok button? once you figure out that layout - not so bad? great copy & print features - simple to use. If you are looking for a black&white printer - this is it.

Great product, great service!

This is my first laser printer purchase. I purchased it for business use and opted to try the toner subscription program as well and I couldn't be happier with both. The toner arrived so quickly and they even gave an option to haave an extra sent if you use a higher plan which gives me the peace of mind that I won't be stuck without the ability to print so my business is always prepared. I highly recommend this printer for the quality, the cost and, most importantly, the commitment to customer service. I'm so glad I took the chance on this printer and service.

Well, I can finally print off it

Replaced a bricked HP. Will never get another one. Brother had a difficult startup to get connected with computers. Never did get wireless to work, went out and bought a cord to connect to a computer so I could use it. Will have to figure out why later. Haven't explored scanning at yet. Owner's manual online difficult to use and navigate. Print quality is great. Just wish connecting to the computer was easier.
