As of the date of this review, the P-touch Editor 5.x is not compatible with Windows 11, and Brother technical support is slow in responding to the fix. Very disappointed!

I have had the QL-500 for several years and it is a very dependable printer. I don't print a lot of labels, but enough to give it a workout. It's print is very clear, it never jams, and the Windows app is easy to use

When my label printer of 17 years wouldn't work, I figured I was lucky to have had it work flawlessly for so many years. I was distraught to think I would have to replace it with some "newest and greatest" replacement model. When I saw the exact same model I rejoiced and bought it immediately (I still have supplies I won't have to trash. I am so grateful to Brother for not "improving" this already perfect and simple product. I have produced every kind of Postal and identification label without a single malfunction since 2003. Readers should know that as I prepared to donate my old unit, I discovered there was nothing wrong and it is working perfectly at the Senior Center in town. I'm guessing the problem was with a connection after I moved my office and I was too stupid to figure it out, but I will never know. I will never need to replace this label printer and of that I have no doubt. I have marketed, sold, installed and consulted in office technology for 45 years and I have never encountered a product which did what it claimed to do without failure and for so long as the Brother QL-500.

P-Touch 5.1 crashes on save file with Mac OS X Catalina. Also there is no way to choose DK-1201 rolls or any other DK roll that I can see in P-Touch

I love the flexibility to print different size fonts and images all on a single label. Very handy. I looked at a lot of label printers and very few had these features and at such a reasonable price. Very happy with it.

I bought this recently to replace the same model I have had for many years. I needed the latest software to load to my new Windows 10 tower. It works great and can use all my previously saved label files.

I use this for office labeling and for posting names of our employees who deserve recognition up on a pole we have in the office. This little label maker works great and is easy to use! Customer service is great too, they've been very helpful and easy to connect to both times I've needed to call about an issue.

Both the hardware and software were easy to install and use. It's fast and prints clearly, and takes up very little desk space. It was also reasonably priced.

I was able to hook the label maker to my computer with minimal effort. The ease of using it fascinates me. I would recommend this label maker to any business that wants to save time. It is very affordable.

The label maker works well. The software is not the best, but it is serviceable. The company seems to think if you buy a product they need to try to get you to buy more and keeps you deleting stuff. Generally I would expect that if I bought a labelmaker, I would not buy another for at least 2 years.

As I enter "seniors" territory, the Brother QL-500 has been a great aide in helping address envelopes, label file folders and attach notes. In addition, not having to replace ink cartridges is a huge plus. The only suggestion I would have is that it would be nice to be able to have more than one size label in the printer at the same time.

I have had my QL-500 for a very long time. I have been through three computers and my faithful QL-500 keeps on giving me exceptional performance. I really need to expand my use and order more sizes of labels because it certainly does well already with the few sizes I use.
