Excellent Value
This Legend E-series is currently my favorite pair of 8X42 binoculars. I've also owned the Nikon Monarch 5, Bushnell Legend M-Series, Bushnell Legend Ultra HD, and Bushnell Engage in 8X42. As you can see, these E-series binos are the least-endowed with no ED glass and dielectric prism coating. But it does have fully multi-coated lenses, phase-coated prism glass, and a magnesium frame -- all first-rate features. The optics are not inferior to the higher-priced models to my eyes. I was impressed when I first looked through these binos as I was with the Monarch 5. The Engage, Legend M, and Ultra HD did not impress me as much as I thought they would and wanted them to. The Engage in 10X42 did impress me very much though. Mechanically my E is also tops along with the Nikon with crisp eyecup adjustments, firm and solid pivot and focus knob with no play. I paid $80 at the current Adorama sale price and I could not be happier. I highly recommend these binos.

Good view, case and lens covers could be better
There were good instructions for adjusting the fit and the viewing is good. It is difficult to store with the included lens covers as they come loose with the slightest touch.

Gonna Start Birding (Again)
These a re great binoculars for a great price. A very high-quality build, they're rock solid. Small and relatively light. I had done some birding a few decades ago, and want to start again. But, I didn't want to spend a whole lot, just in case ambition exceeds reality.. These are exactly what i need.

Great overall value.
My score is weighted by the overall value. The fit and finish along with the optical quality seem to be very good so far. Nicely balanced and decent weight. These were bought as a backup pair for a more expensive pair. Without paying triple or more of this price they seem very hard to beat.

Surprisingly Good Image Quality
I purchased this item because of its low price. Out of my surprise, this is a quality built binocular. Its made of metal, all parts are solid and smooth to adjust. Its just the right weigh, feel good and not too heavy. Its very bright and with great image quality (sharp edge to edge, and no color fringe). I wear progressive glasses, and has no trouble viewing perfect image quickly. This is a big thumb up in term of value.

Nice bins to look through, tough to focus and clearly old stock.
I bought these Bushnell 8x42 Legend E-Series because they get decent reviews. And they were a close-out or some special of the day priced item. And while the glass is very good optically - they are quite difficult to focus- lots of resistance and they smell. Smell? yep like they were stored in a damp basement. And since you hold them to your face all day it gets a little annoying- in fact if you share them with someone to see something- expect a comment about their smell.

Bushnell legend E series
Awesome binoculars for the price point, only small issue is the lens caps should be a bit tighter as they tend to come loose.
