Boss KATANA-100 100W 1x12 Combo Amplifier for Electric Guitars

With 100 watts of power and a custom 12-inch speaker, the Katana-100 delivers a commanding range of gig-worthy tones that gracefully slice through any band scenario. The amp also excels for home playing, with a uniquely efficient design and innovative Power Control that provides inspiring sound and response at low volumes. In addition, the Katana-100 includes integrated access to a huge range of BOSS effects, which are customizable using the free BOSS Tone Studio editor software. And with the amp’s powerful Tone Setting memories, you can store your favorite amp channel setups and effects combinations for instant recall.

With its built-in BOSS effects and recallable Tone Settings, the Katana-100 lets you perform anywhere with just a guitar and amp. Connecting to BOSS Tone Studio via USB provides access to 55 effects that are fully customizable for your needs. Going beyond standard distortion, delay, and reverb, the selection also includes powerful tone-shapers like pitch shifting, ring mod, slicer, and more. You can load 15 different effects in the amp at one time and use up to three simultaneously. Four Tone Settings let you store custom amp and effects setups for instant recall, and you can always jump to the current panel settings at the touch of a button. It's also possible to connect optional footswitches and expression pedals for hands-free control on the gig.

BOSS is proud to now introduce Software Version 2 for the Katana Amp Range (KTN-Head, KTN-100, KTN-100 2x12 and KTN-50 versions) This feature packed update now adds many user-requested additions and enhancements that help further cement BOSS’ name in the amplifier market. This is an extremely powerful enhancement that increases your tonal flexibility.

A big request from end users was to extend the range of user presets available on Katana amps. Using the panel switch or any BOSS Footswitch (FS-6, FS-7, FS-5L) users now have DOUBLE the amount of channel presets on board for live use. The KTN-50 increases to 4 preset channels, and the KTN-100, KTN-HEAD and KTN-100/212 increases to 8 preset channels. This is also great for people who want to store more in their amp without the use of a PC or MAC.

THREE new added effects expand the total effects to 58. This update adds two built from scratch effects; PHASER 90E and FLANGER 117E as well as a new delay model SDE-3000 based on the legendary Roland rack unit.

Via BOSS Tone Studio you can now control the Line Out “Feel” that comes from LINE OUT / HEADPHONES / USB. Trickled down from the flagship Waza Head technology, so many players now use amp simulators regularly, and this features now gives you high quality recorded tones without the need for mic’ing up your amp. Three different microphone voicings; REC, LIVE and BLEND allows you to get the best recorded tones from Katana. Huge advantages for Live use as well.

Also trickled down from the flagship Waza Head technology, using BOSS Tone Studio users can now select between three speaker resonance types to help with low end response and alter the overall tone. It can also be used help KTN-HEAD match to an external speaker. VINTAGE, MODERN and DEEP offer three distinct sound and cab styles.

Using BOSS Tone Studio you get GLOBAL EQ which can be moveable between PRE or POST your effects chain. Alongside this, new EQ effects pedals appear under both MOD and FX pedals meaning you also have TWO highly flexible EQ’s to place anywhere in your effects chain alongside your Global EQ settings. As before, you can use a GA-FC foot controller in effects mode, meaning you have switchable EQ at your feet

Katana’s reverb mode has now been upgraded to feature DELAY, REVERB + DELAY and REVERB ONLY. Using Boss Tone Studio now allows you to change, per patch the Reverb Controls functions allowing you to have two different delays on board, either SEPERATELY or TOGETHER alongside tap tempo controls. New mixes of Dual delays and reverbs can now be created for new spacious and lush delays.

Many users asked for a more flexible effects loop to integrate with a wide variety of set-ups. Upgraded EFFECTS LOOP EDITING can now be achieved in Boss Tone Studio for better integration. Effects loop VOLUME can be set per channel and it can also be moved PRE or POST effects chain allowing you to get the most out of your effects on the floor and inside the Katana (KTN-100, KTN-100/212 and KTN HEAD only)
