Just imagine the power of a high-gain icon, now evolved with the innovative touch of Waza craftsmanship. For over a quarter of a century, the MT-2 Metal Zone has held a prominent position in the BOSS lineup, becoming one of the most influential compact pedals in the music industry. Its sales are only surpassed by the legendary DS-1 Distortion.
The MT-2W Metal Zone Waza Pedal, crafted with precision in Japan, takes this iconic pedal to unprecedented heights of tonal range and versatility. Its standard mode offers an enhanced version of the original mid-focused Metal Zone tone, while the custom mode brings a new, broad voice that aligns perfectly with the diverse high-gain styles of today's music scene.
Since its initial release in 1991, the MT-2 Metal Zone has been cherished by guitarists worldwide for its rich, thick distortion and unique mid-focused character. Its innovative dual-stage gain circuit has inspired countless pedal designers over the years. The pedal's groundbreaking three-band EQ with parametric midrange offers deep sound-shaping capabilities, covering a wide spectrum of high-gain styles.
The MT-2W Metal Zone Waza Pedal, like all Waza Craft pedals, enhances the original BOSS analog design with refined features for superior performance and versatility. The dual-stage gain circuit boasts a discrete design with meticulously chosen components, delivering premium tones with increased clarity. The EQ has been fine-tuned for a smoother midrange tone and unique Q values, specifically designed for the pedal's Standard and Custom modes.
In Standard mode, the MT-2W's dual-stage gain circuit enhances the Metal Zone's renowned mid-driven sound. The attack is more responsive, and the definition and clarity have been elevated. Noise has been minimized, offering improved performance even at ultra-high gain settings.
Switch to Custom mode, and the MT-2W voices the pedal for a vast, wide-ranging sound, making it an ideal choice for any contemporary heavy style. The tone is natural and open, with increased dynamics and rounder lower mids than Standard mode. Even at the highest gain settings, the low end remains full yet tight, focused, and well-defined, perfect for churning out low-tuned riffs.
The Waza Craft series embodies the commitment of BOSS engineers to achieve the finest guitar tones using any necessary technology, from traditional analog circuits to advanced DSP. The term "Waza" in Japan signifies art and technique, and these special edition pedals proudly bear the Waza symbol to represent the zenith of BOSS design and craftsmanship.
