Questions & Answers

Ed S : Hello,Is this camera totally dark at night ?(no red light glow) Thank you.BILL P : No Ed. it is not. It shoots a red flash that is invisible to wildlife but not to humans. bummer for me too.DEBORAH K : No red light glow - but there is a flash when it takes picturesSHANE K : Yes, that is why I Bought mine. When you set it up , it will take pics even when don't think it is. It is stealth so no one will see anything.(like a red dot) Hope that helpsGARY G : I am not sure about this model, but by looking at the leds I would say no it isn't..DEANNA C : yes, it is totally dark at night, it uses infrared optics to capture the photos.JAMES T : There is one small green light that stays on in the front of the camera to signify that the batteries are good. When an object passes in front of it there are red LED lights that come on when taking the picture. You also need an SD card because the small amount of memory in the camera is not enough to take a picture. I tried testing it in my house and it worked, but when I tied it to a tree to get pictures it didn't work. The weather has been bad so I haven't set it up again. You will also need to purchase 4 "C" batteries and also a special cable the fits in the side of the camera and the other end attaches to your computer to download the pictures from the camera. The pictures are grainy, but you can make out what it was you took the picture of. When you buy the SD card make sure it is the right one for the camera. It has to do with the speed of what the SD card can handle. I went to Walmart and they had one listed for the camera.BOBBY R : This camera is what we red blob. When it triggers you and wildlife will be able to see a red glow. Bushnell does make a Low Glow camera that can only be seen within five feet and that is Model 119476 which is a 2012 camera. If you can find a 119466( There are a few left) they are just as good and some say better than the 476.GARY G : Absolutely.I have the back maxMIKE B : Hi Ed, I have three of these and really like them. My cameras are dark till they snap a Pic. The night vision LED's will glow red to get the shot. Hope that answers your Q. RegardsDEWAYNE B : While I have not witnessed the camera taking pictures at night, I have seen the pictures it takes of wildlife and people, and it only appears to omit infrared light.BARRY S : hi ed i believe this is the exact same cam that i have with the exception of the hd . I am 99 percent sure this cam will have a red glow when triggered. the hd has to do with picture quality.to be 100 percent sure I would pull up the owners manual on line, hope this helpsNANCY C : When a picture is being taken, the red lights come on for about 1 to 2 seconds. When no picture is being taken, the camera is totally dark.JOHN Z : The IR flashes when the camera is triggered.BRUCE L : Yes. No red light glow. JOHN P : It is not totally dark. There is a red glow when taking picture or video at night. NATHAN J : Hello Ed, I walked in front of my camera after dark and when it took the picture I could see red but only if I looked directly at it. Overall I am very pleased with thus camera and I'd recommend it to anyone. Good luck and happy hunting!

Highly Recommend. Excellent Value for the Money!

I have 4 of the Trophy Cam E3 Essential trail cameras on our 90-acre property. Two of these cameras are over 8-years old and still going strong. I just bought 2 more. My experience is that they are very easy to program, the picture quality is good both day and night and lithium batteries will last up-to 1 year. I haven't found a comparable good value in any other non-cellular trail camera.

Great cam

Our back woods are alive here in the Pacific N.W. and this camera hasn't missed a shot. Very easy to set up. Still haven't played with all the settings, but the photos are good quality. Agree with using the lithium batteries, especially in the cold weather.

Bushnell Trail Cameras

I purchased the Bushnell E3 product because I have Bushnell trail cams still operating after 10 years in the field under very challenging conditions. I have photos in temperatures as low as -40F (very surprised camera and batteries kept working). The range of operation from summer through winter has been impressive using Energizer lithium batteries. Within my Bushnell collection I own two Bushnell E2 trail cams that have performed flawlessly. Great picture and video quality. The similarity between the E2 and E3 is difficult to tell the difference. The overall Bushnell quality combined with the great E3 sale price is hard to beat.

Great Trail Cam

Trophy Cam E3 is an Older model but the only one I look for, I have tried 3 other manufacturers and didn't like any of them, these are reliable, and the easy to program and large screen I can read. I sure hope these will be available for a long time to come.

One of the best selling

One of the best selling points for me in the Trophy Cam is the ability to set the camera for activate during day and or night time hours. This is a great feature for collecting predator activity during i.e. night time hours eliminating excessive photos not needed during the day time. I am surprised that not more emphasis is on this feature in their adverting.

Highly Waterproof.

This camera is highly waterproof. After my husband accidentally directed the snow blower towards it, it ended up packed with snow. After I cleaned it off and dried it out, it worked great and has been working great for over a year.

Why buy anything else?

These are my 7th & 8th Trophy Cams Essentials. Some of my originals are out 365 days a year. Two are factory refurbished and they work great. I've stuck with them because they give me no grief, the stills and video's are excellent. They just keep working and don't seem to quit. For the price, you can't beat the quality. They're all you could ask for, why buy anything else?

great camera

I have been using bushnell cams for over 10 years and the trophy series is the best and these are no exception the lower the megapixels the better the pics will be, I have a core low glow with 24 megs and the pic Quality is not as good and at $90 you better grab several up. Some people say they are difficult to use but I find them the easiest to use, if your having trouble find someone that uses them and have them show you how and you will see just how easy they are, I can set one up in less than 60 seconds and have it up and running.

The Trophy Cam E3 is

The Trophy Cam E3 is probably the best trail cam I have ever used. Fantastic picture quality and fast trigger speeds. I have 4 of them, now 6. Not sure where these last bunch of E3's came from as it was my understanding this model was no longer available. Ordered directly from Bushnell. What a great product!

Academic research

By Nicole C.

We are using them for a academic research project. So far we have not had any issues with them.

The Bushnell Trophy Cam HD Trail Camera (Camo) is designed to capture wildlife in excellent detail, regardless of the weather or shooting conditions. Featuring HD video, Field Scan 2X and one-year of battery life, using the Trophy Cam HD is an easy way to see what's going on outside while you are away.

You can expect brighter and sharper nighttime images, from up to 60' away, due to the incorporation of 32 LEDs into the Night Vision Flash. Whether game wanders into view and sets off the live trigger, or comes along during one of the two Field Scan 2X time-lapse intervals, Trophy Cam HD will have no trouble capturing them at any time in the day.

With a trigger speed of 0.6 seconds, intervals of one minute to an hour and the introduction of Field Scan 2X, you will easily be able to cover key times in the day, without missing out on the action. Within a fraction of a second, the camera will have been triggered and the game captured in a photo or HD Video.

To maximize the consistency of photo and video capture in all conditions, the Trophy Cam HD is weatherproof and has an Auto Passive Infrared (PIR) motion sensor that automatically regulates sensitivity based on the surrounding temperature. The PIR can also be adjusted manually between low, medium and high sensitivities.

Date, time, moon phase and temperature stamps allow more data to be compiled on the weather conditions - giving you better, more detailed information on what kind of conditions bring wildlife into the area, while GeoTag records GPS coordinates to aid in tracking. Whether you're tracking down that big buck, or simply an outdoor enthusiast, the Trophy Cam HD is designed to be detailed, fast and easy to use - helping you find what you're after.
