This Bright Tangerine baseplate kit is designed for RED Komodo users wanting to add the quick-release 15mm LWS baseplate with support for 15mm rods. The top stage releases the DJI dovetail, so you can quickly transition to a DJI RS 2/RSC 2 gimbal, and the lower stage allows you to securely lock off the camera onto any ARRI standard balance plate. Amazing build quality, great design. The ability to "eject" from dovetail without needing to slide it off is a game changer. Only grief is there is no east release from body. So you need a larger gear bag, case to store your camera build in.

Great baseplate

After working with another brands quick release riser to LWS, and slowly realizing it wasn't gonna work:
-No anti rotation mechanism (even with two base screws)
-No safety lock on camera plate or for tripod dovetail
-General flex

I was making it work, but after I had a shoot with some big tele lenses I knew I had to upgrade.

I've got the rest of the Komodo cage from BT so the baseplate was the logical move.

The RS3 plate that goes on the camera is solid with anti rotation tabs. I was also able to secure with 3 screws including the lens support. I got the extended baseplate.

The riser has a great locking mechanism.

Then the whole "drop straight down" on an arri dovetail plate is exceptional. Especially with a big heavy setup, not having to thread the needle is great.

Double locking so you can unlock halfway to slide for tripod balancing. 

Nice and stiff. Lens support for a 300mm 2.8 lens and when I wack the lens you can tell the movement coming up from the tripod shifting. With the competitor, I wasn't even able to touch the lens without some visible vibrations.
