After securing your RED KOMODO camera onto the DJI Extended RS 2/3 Dovetail Plate, you'll experience swift transitions between gimbal and tripod setups. This high-quality, sturdy dovetail plate is specifically designed to support RED KOMODO cameras and DJI RS 2 & RS 3 gimbals, providing a seamless shift from the LeftField baseplate to a handheld gimbal. The extended length of the plate, measuring 145mm (5.7"), assists with optimal balancing on gimbals. It also features a slot designed to securely support lens adapter mounts, enhancing the versatility of your camera setup. Constructed with anti-twist wings, this reliable dovetail plate integrates with the locating indents on the RED KOMODO, preventing the camera from twisting on the plate. Rubber pads on the top of the dovetail add an extra layer of grip, ensuring stability and durability in any shooting scenario.Despite its robust design, the DJI Extended RS 2/3 Dovetail Plate is lightweight, weighing only 110g (3.8oz). This is due to the meticulous machining process that removes any excess weight without compromising the plate's strength and functionality. The front of the dovetail features 3x M4 threaded holes, compatible with the DJI Focus Motor Mount Kit. This allows you to maintain your focus motor setup, even when detaching from the baseplate. When paired with the DJI RS 2 & RS 3 Riser & LeftField Universal Baseplate, the RED KOMODO is positioned at the correct 15mm LWS height standard, ensuring optimal camera performance. This dovetail plate is compatible with the DJI RS 3 Pro, RS 3 & RS 2 gimbals, making it a versatile addition to your camera equipment.

We got this because we wanted to quickly move our Komodo between rails setup and gimbal. We also needed the extended baseplate so we could secure the Metabones RF lens adapter. 

This baseplate does this specific job well, but I still find the price a bit ambitious for what it is.
