Bright Tangerine LeftField Upgrade Kit from Canon C70 to C80 Camera

Trading up your C70 for a C80, but don't want to throw away your whole rig? With the LeftField Upgrade Kit, you can get the new C80 Top Plate and Side Rib, and keep your existing LeftField 3 Baseplate and Risers. Mounting cleanly and efficiently together, you can minimize the waste in your new setup. The Kit includes the dedicated Canon C80 Top Plate and C80 Side Rib.

The LeftField Upgrade Kit (Canon C70 to C80) replaces the C70 Top Plate and Side Plate whilst maintaining compatibility with existing LeftField 3 Baseplates and C70 Risers - minimizing the cost of upgrading your full setup. The C80 Side Rib shares the same mounting system as the C70's, allowing you to complete your cage without all-new components.

Clean Rigging
The Canon C80 Top Plate and Side Rib complement each other perfectly; with an array of mounting options including 1/4" and 3/8" anti-twist points as well as MAP M4 points, a Cold Shoe mount, QD sockets, NATO rails and 15mm rod support. You can form a robust Canon C80 camera cage, offering customization freedom without compromising the C80's footprint or functionality.

LeftField 3 Compatible
The base mounting point for the C80 Side Rib is the same as that on the original C70 Side Plate, meaning that existing LeftField 3 Risers can still be used to complete your cage. For DJI shooters who already own our LeftField 3 Canon C70 QR Baseplate (DJI RS 4 & RS 3) or the LeftField 3 Canon C70 QR Baseplate don't need to get rid of them.

Locked In
The C80 Top Plate attaches to your camera at three points for added security. Alongside the central flathead screw, there are two screws - marked by padlocks - that help keep your Top Plate firmly in place. Though one of them does slot into the C80's Film Plane Hook, we've got a dedicated slot on the Top Plate itself that means you can still use it for precise measurements.

Compatibility
The LeftField Upgrade Kit is designed for use with the Canon C80, bridging existing Canon C70 accessories. Users who previously bought either the LeftField 3 Canon C70 QR Baseplate (DJI RS 4 & RS 3) or the LeftField 3 Canon C70 QR Baseplate can still use them. The Side Rib can also be mounted to the Canon Riser for LeftField Mini (DJI RS) or the Canon C70 & C80 Riser for LeftField Mini.

- Top Plate -
The Canon C80 Top Plate adds a range of accessory mounting options to your camera. A three-point mounting system secures the Top Plate in place, and the plate provides a range of accessory mounting options without obstructing the C80's native inputs. Featuring an integrated NATO rail as well as a dedicated mount for the Canon C80 Side Rib, the Canon C80 Top Plate can be used standalone or as part of a complete cage.

Relocated Mounts - The Top Plate offers alternative positioning for the C80 Film Plane Hook and Microphone Shockmount.

Enhance your filmmaking setup with the Canon C80 Top Plate, which offers new freedom of customization for your Canon camera. The Top Plate offers a range of accessory mounts including 1/4", 3/8" and MAP M4 threads; as well as QD sockets, a NATO rail and an integrated 15mm rod bracket. Using a three-point mounting system for added stability, the C80 Top Plate is a lightweight yet essential addition to your C80 setup.

In-Depth Customization
But a Top Plate on its own isn't very useful: it's what you add to the top plate that matters. For that, our C80 Top Plate comes jam-packed with accessory mounts. Alongside 1/4" and 3/8" screw threads, there are also MAP M4 and QD sockets - and a Cold Shoe mount for microphones or other accessories. The bar across the front of the Top Plate has an integrated NATO rail, and the front has a 15mm rod console. There are also dedicated mounts for the microphone shockmount and for attaching the Canon C80 Side Rib.

Ideal for Compact Rigs
The C80 Top Plate has been designed to perfectly complement the Canon C80's small footprint. It provides a flat and spacious plane for customization whilst maintaining the core C80 shape and minimizing bulk. The integrated NATO rail provides tactile feedback for centrally-aligned accessories, such as the Short Create Top Handle (NATO).

Light and Durable
The Canon C80 Top Plate is made from anodized aluminum. This provides a great balance of strength and weight, making it resistant to wear and tear without adding too much heft to your camera setup.

Compatibility
The Canon C80 Top Plate is designed to work with the Canon C80 camera body alone. It has a range of accessory mounts making it compatible with a range of third-party accessories such as microphones and transmitters.

The Canon C80 Side Rib expands the mounting options of your Canon camera. It features dedicated 1/4" and 3/8" screw threads, as well as a line of MAP M4 points and a Cold Shoe mount. It mounts discreetly to the left side of the C80 without obstructing any inputs or buttons. Made from anodized aluminum, the C80 Side Rib is lightweight on your rig for convenient customization.

Versatile Accessory Mounting
The Canon C80 Side Rib comes with a range of accessory mounting options for customizing your camera. Alongside multiple 1/4" and 3/8" anti-twist screw threads with industry-standard spacing, there is also a row of MAP M4 points and a Cold Shoe mount for microphones (with a safety pin to ensure a secure hold). There is also a dedicated slot for the HDMI Clamp for Canon C70 & C80.

Customize Without Compromise
The Canon C80 Side Rib mounts to the left side of your Canon camera: offset from the camera body slightly in order to give you full access to all the camera inputs and buttons. Using captive M4 screws and locating pins to help keep the Side Rib firmly in place, all it takes is a few twists of a Hex Key to get set up.

C80 Rigging Options
For mounting to the Canon C80, the Side Rib offers a number of different rig configurations. It has a dedicated mounting point on our C80 Top Plate, but can form a complete cage by mounting to the LeftField Risers. Alternatively, for convenient swapping between Manfrotto and DJI setups, use the Canon C80 Side Rib Brace and our Universal Dovetail for quick and easy mounting.

Canon C70 Compatible
For filmmakers shooting on the Canon C70, the Side Rib also offers compatibility beyond the HDMI Clamp. The Side Rib's mount on the base also works with our dedicated C70 Standard Riser or DJI RS 4 and RS 3 Dovetail for Canon C70.

Lightweight and Durable
The C80 Side Rib is made from lightweight aluminum, which is then hard-anodized for durability. This makes it lightweight on your rig but also durable enough to take the strain of camera accessory mounting. The Side Rib is resistant to the wear-and-tear and corrosion from frequent use, for long-lasting performance.

The Canon C80 Side Rib is designed for use with the Canon C80 - mounting to our dedicated Top Plate - however, it can also be used with our Canon C70 kits as well. C80 users will require:
