Ready for rigging, the Blackmagic PYXIS Essentials Kit is a clean and compact option for Blackmagic filmmakers. Featuring our Universal Dovetail, the Essentials Kit converts your PYXIS into a multi-mount rig - for both DJI gimbals and Manfrotto tripods, at the same time. And if you don't need either mount and want to shoot handheld, then the included Top Handle and Top Plate give you a convenient setup. Built from anodized aluminum for consistent performance, the Essentials Kit is perfect for simple setups, but can easily be expanded for more robust rigs.

Clean Rigging
To create the perfect PYXIS cage, you need to start with the right foundations. Our dedicated PYXIS Top Plate offers a range of deep customization options, all without obstructing the PYXIS' air vents. Covered in accessory mounting points such as industry-standard 1/4" and 3/8" threads as well as MAP M4 points and QD sockets.

Complete Compatibility
Moving from the top to the bottom, we've included our Universal Dovetail - which is absolutely an essential for most filmmakers. The Universal Dovetail allows shooters to transition from Manfrotto tripods to DJI RS 4 gimbals, all without any tools or changes to the setup. It's compatible with DJI gear racks for extra fine-tuning, and you can slide the PYXIS along the dovetail to better balance it with larger lenses.

The Blackmagic PYXIS Essentials Kit is designed to work with all variations of the Blackmagic PYXIS: 12K and 6K. However, the only element that is incompatible with other cameras is the Top Plate - which is designed to fit the shape of the PYXIS body. Both the Create Top Handle and Universal Dovetail are universal, and can be used with other camera setups.

Get a Grip
For those low-angle shots where a gimbal or tripod won't cut it, keep a steady hold on your camera with our dedicated Create Top Handle. With an ergonomic rubber grip in the handle, you can comfortably hold the PYXIS for extended shooting sessions. It features its own array of mounting points; including a Cold Shoe mount and QD sockets, as well as compatibility with our Master Handle Extensions.

- 1/4"-20 Create Top Handle Mk II -
The Create Top Handle is a convenient addition to any camera. Mounted via two captive 1/4"-20 screws - spaced 50mm apart - the top handle can be installed onto a range of camera top plates. With a rubber handgrip for comfort and ARRI-standard threads lining the handle itself (as well as a cold shoe mount), this top handle is a versatile and convenient addition to your rig.

Part of our Create range, this Top Handle provides nearly limitless customization options for almost any camera body. Installed via two captive screws, the top handle is an easy addition to your rig: providing a stable option for both rigging and transportation.

From there, you can build out the handle itself with extensions. Add a monitor mount using the cold shoe, or use the 1/4" and 3/8" holes to add further accessories to the top of your camera.

Made from anodized aluminum with a rubber inlay on the grip, this top handle is a comfortable and convenient accessory for camera builds of any complexity.

Cold Shoe Mount
Alongside screw-in threads, the top handle also provides a cold shoe - ideal for supporting monitor swivel mounts, microphones or wireless receivers.

Highly Customizable
With MAP M4 points as well as the 1/4" and 3/8" anti-twist threads, this top handle provides huge scope for configuring your camera rig. There is also a mounting point on the base of the top handle for additional accessories such as our Top Bar Bracket.

Customize without Compromise
The PYXIS Top Plate offers a range of options for refining your rig. From industry-standard 1/4" and 3/8" screw threads to more specific options such as MAP M4 or QD socket mounts. Each features the relevant locating pins for secure attachment, and are arranged in the ARRI pin-lock standard array. There are also dedicated 1/4"-20 mounting points for Top Handles, optimized for balance, as well as along the sides for attaching side plates or Cheese Plates.

Clean Installation
The Top Plate attaches to your PYXIS via three 3/8" screws, which are captive within the Top Plate to avoid them being lost when loosened. Once attached, the Top Plate sits comfortably on top of your PYXIS, with ample ventilation thanks to the dedicated cutouts.

Cross-Compatible Dovetail
A frustrating feature for many filmmakers has been the slight differences between Manfrotto and DJI plate standards. With our new Universal Dovetail, you can use the same mount for DJI RS 4 gimbals and Manfrotto 5 Series tripods with ease. The spring-loaded gear rack for DJI gimbals makes it easy to mount to compatible gimbals, and a safety stop ensures that the dovetail doesn't detach by itself.
