Great company, great filter

Using a NDL can achieve some wonderful effects, but like all things in life, it?s not as easy as it seems, especially getting a perfect focus.

Product Review Breakthrough ND 10 stop filter.

Absolutely fantastic.  Read this entire story, please.  I was out along the North Umpqua River in Oregon making photographs of waterfalls.  I often leave my DN filter off to compose and focus.  My 60 year-old eyes need the extra brightness.  I was screwing this filter back in when it slipped out of my fingers and fell down to the rocks.  I thought as it fell, "Well, that's it.  $100 bucks gone."  But, it bounced on its metal edge and fell to the next rock down.  Again, it hit directly on its metal edge and bounced a second time.  When it hit a rock for the third time, again, it bounced on its edge and fell even further where it landed in a crevasse in the rocks covered with fresh moss which, cupped it like a pillow.  As I climbed down to retrieve it, I was sure it would be destroyed.  But to my surprise, it was pristine.  Not a scratch or dent on it.  Its been two months since this happened and I'm still using it.  I'll never buy another brand of filter.  Any filter that can take that kind of abuse and live is worth every penny.  Buy this filter and don't look back.

Awesome

I have used this filter several times. It fits my Tokina 11-20mm and my Tamron G2 24-70. I am pretty much covered in my extended exposure photography. No color casting, the colors on my long exposure photos of 123 seconds look amazing.

Best ND Filter out there

This is my second filter from Breakthrough Photography. The other is their new circular polarizer. The optical and build qualities of these filters are really excellent! I have been using B+W and they are great, but I've been more impressed with these two BP filters in terms of color quality, optical quality, and material use/craftsmanship. Breakthrough Photography's customer service is unbeatable too, as is their 25 year quarantee!

Excellent filter and great value!

The first time I placed it on my lens it would not come off, and I did not over tighten.  I had to resort to using pliers on my expensive lens to remove it, and of course it was scratched so I could not return it.   Now I know what they mean "aluminum tends to bind", spend the extra money and buy the ones made in brass, but despite this the performance is good so I won't disregard this brand all together.

Good performance, bad build.

Highly recommended for lessening harsh lighting conditions by darkening exposure and allows for wider apertures.
Knurled edge provides grip to attach/detach from lens more easily.  5.5mm edge prevents vignetting..

Great Deal Great Filter!

Very happy with this excellent 6 stop ND. It's surprisingly slender & light weight, and screws on and off my Nikon 16-35 quite smoothly. Best of all, I can see no appreciable color shift in RAW files, it truly deserves its neutral density title. Comes in a sturdy plastic case. Everything to like, nothing to gripe about. It will cost you, but it should be tha last 6 stop ND you'll ever need!

I can't get over how great it felt to screw this filter on and off. The traction that it has built into it is amazing! And the filter works just as good as any of the high end filters that I have owned in the passed!
