E1 3-9×40 muzzleloader scope

Just got the muzzleloader reticle version of this scope. Glass is excellent and has nice solid clicks. 4 stars because the magnification ring is really stiff.

Customer support!

My must share Burris experience....Bought E1 muzzleloader scope for 3 reasons. Reticle subtensions, weight, and forever warranty. Make a long story short (to limit embarassment) I dropped the scope onto a linoleum floor (while attached to 6-1/2 lb rifle) from shoulder height, directly onto the eyepiece of the scope. Much to my surprise....nothing broke. No broken glass. Reticle was fine. Image was fine. Phew!!! Until I tried to turn the power ring. No go. So started the repair process. I returned the scope fully expecting to pay for my mistake, but Burris wouldn't hear of it. In about exactly 2 weeks a brand new scope showed up at my door at no cost. I didn't need another reason to buy Burris products, but now I have more more than enough reasons. THANK YOU!

Perfect

I bought two of these at once. One on an in-line and the other for a Ruger compact 308. The both preformed to burris quality. I will admit. I do purchase my share of Leupold too but I always I find Burris to be nose to nose at the finish line. Except with Burris I get to keep a few more bucks in my wallet.

Clear view

I put one of these on my AR15 and couldn?t be happier. You can easily see the crosshairs in low light. Bought a second one for my 350Legend. And with the Burris forever warrenty you don?t have to worry about anything.

Great Scope

Got the scope yesterday, mounted today on my new Ruger .308 and the scope is fantastic. I never expected anything less. I bought my first Burris, over 30 years ago and I still use it. It's still crystal clear and has never had one problem, ever! Which is why I always go to Burris, I never look at different brands. Getting a 200 dollar Burris scope that beats a 1000 dollar scope is money well spent.

Great scope!

I have had my second offbrand scope in 17 years go out on my muzzleloader 2 days before season, went to local huntin shop seen the 450 bushmaster version decided I would try it in hair of a moment. Seaons only a week here anyway. But Black powder is one of my favorite seasons, and I truly enjoy muzzleloading. Went to range had it centered In bullseye at 50 in 2 shots. Ive shot bout dozen shot so far with it. Seems to shoot better than it has in a long time, I think my last offbrand scope wasnt very good to start with. In 2021 primers are hard to come by. I wont mess around with a cheaper scope on a muzzleloader ever again if I dont have too.

Great scope, better than many higher priced scopes

These are my 4th and 5th E1s. One on a Remington 700 BDL .30-06 and the other on a .270. I've really come to respect the E1 series. The glass is clear from edge to edge. The focus adjustment doesn't require turning the whole eye piece. And like every Burris I've ever owned, I've never had to re-zero from year to year. They always stay zeroed. There is no better scope for twice the money, and very few better at three times the price.

Best value out there

Mounted this to a Weatherby Vanguard with Burris rings. Visually awesome looking. I have an older Fullfield II and I appreciate the eye piece not rotating when zooming. Crystal clear and new reticle is very cool. I appreciate that the least expensive Burris scope has not compromised quality whatsoever.

Excellent Clarity

I bought this scope at a local retailer on 40% off clearance sale. The glass is excellent; focus is perfect from center to edges. Brightness is excellent also. I have fired about 100 rounds with the scope, and it holds zero. The only reason I am giving it only four stars is because my scope has 1/2" clicks at 100 yards. The manual says 1/4" clicks at 100 yards. I called the folks in Greeley, and they said it was impossible that my scope had that mechanism in it. Well, I have been shooting a number of rifles and a number of scopes for almost 50 years, and I am telling you this scope has 1/2" clicks at 100 yards. No two ways about it.

Great Value in an all around hunting scope

This scope compliments my vintage Ruger 77 in 35 Whelen nicely. The E 1 Reticle is ideal for quick target acquisition as well as size and distance estimates. Clear sight to the extreme edges and 30 mm tube Combined with 40 mm objective allows for closer mount to bore, longer eye relief for a stout recoil like the 35 Whelen.

Dissapointed

Purchased the scope with intentions of installing it on a new muzzleloader. Once it was installed I noticed that the vertical crosshair would stop moving 20-25 clicks prior the turret bottoming out (when moving the crosshair to the left only). I put 25 rounds through the gun and was never able to get the gun sighted in with this scope installed. As with the other Burris scopes that I own the glass is very clear and the look and feel of the scope is good so I don't know if this is an isolated problem with just the scope that I bought or if their quality control has slipped.

Won’t zero in at all!

I can’t get it to hold zero and the turrets are terrible they don’t clic to tell me if it’s actually moving or not.

Best Scope on a Deer Rifle.... Period!

I have three Burris scopes on three Weatherby rifles. I put an E1 Illuminated on a Weatherby 270 WSM a few years ago mostly because the scope was somewhat interesting looking. The rifle happens to be a tack driver and the glass was, typical of Burris quality; outstanding. So that was at the range sighting the rifle in. Fast forward, in deer camp a few months later, the illumination and floating etched reticle of this scope for shooting through lanes inside pines and hardwoods is as good as you can hope for. Upstate on NY whitetail bucks appear mostly at first and last light, finding the reticle with the shadows of forest in the field of focus and picking out a target at 100 yards is close to impossible. In the early morning and the late afternoon as the sun is setting I turn on the illumination and eliminate the worry of where the reticle is. As the day gets lighter or darker I just adjust the intensity of the illumination with the knob on the left side of the turret. As far as holding zero, even on a snappy 270 WSM, no problem at all. In two years I have had to make zero adjustments on this scope.

Best scope I have ever used..... hands down

I have several high quality scopes. Burris, Nikon, Leupold, Zeiss etc. I have more Burris glass than anything else. Probably six. The E1 illuminated 3-9 is a perfect eastern inside the timberline scope. I put this scope on an older S1 Stainless Weatherby Vanguard SubMOA in 270 WSM. The rifle is a tac driver! The combo of this E1 on that rifle is hands down the best bolt action rifle I own and the best rifle to hunt with. The scope is crisp and clear a s a bell. The E1 reticle centers my eye, and the red light illumination option is perfect for getting the reticle on a deer through the woods. Our club land is all mixed hardwoods and pines. We get nice lanes of 100 to 200 yards that whitetails and an occasional black bear cross through. The E1 optic is very fast acquisition and transmits a lot of light for early first light and late last light opportunities. This rifle and scope combo have become my go-to deer rifle. I recently got my hands on anther S1 Sub MOA that has a C4 Burris on it. I will be swapping that scope out for another E1 illuminated. If you are hunting similar country or light conditions to this, I strongly suggest you consider scope as a first choice for glass.

EXCELLANT SCOPE!

This is my second purchase of this scope. I have one mounted on my AR and just finished mounting the second one on my Winchester XPR .338. I have high end scopes but for the money and most importantly the quality this is a very nice scope that is easy to dial in and can handle anything that the high enders can do for a fraction of the $

Saved My Elk Hunt!

I originally had to buy "the other American" scope for my custom 338 win mag, that cost 4x the price because Burris doesn't even offer a Plex reticle on any of the higher-end scopes. I guess everyone is now a wannabe sniper with all the mildot, bdc and other gobbledegook in a hunting scope... I went to put down a 4x4, wounded by another hunter, at 45 yards. The vx5hd was off 3' rt and 1' low! I dispached the poor elk with my 357. After verifying the vx5hd is junk, I raced, an hour and a half, to Flagstaff, AZ to find ANYTHING to replace it. I found this gem on clearance at Sportsman's! Less than half a box to sight-in, with a tighter group. 4 day later I dropped a 5x6 with one shot at 294 yards in a snowsquall. This Burris fullfield E1 3-9x50 Plex reticle will now stay on my custom hunting rifle!

Phenomenal Glass. Wow!

I've always wanted to own a Burris and finally bought one, and I was amazed at the clarity, brightness, and craftsmanship. I own a Swaro Z5 and a NightForce NXS series, among others, but after buying a Burris Fullfield E1 i'm never gonna over-spend on a fancy named scope again. There's no point. Burris glass is simply amazing for the money... it cant be beat. I can't say it enough, it's just unbeatable for the money. I'm a Burris fan for life now! I don't see why i'd ever need to over pay for another brand ever again. Thank you Burris!

Disappointed...

This is my second Burris scope and I must say I'm very happy with the first one I bought.(Scout) The thing is the windage adjustment simply doesn't work on my brand new Fullfield. Now...I'm sure it will be repaired or even replaced but...I'm trying to contact Stoeger Canada (who's in charge for warranty service here) but it's not easy. I'll keep trying...and will hopefully get my scope fixed. For now, it's hard for me to recommend this scope to a friend.

Illuminate 3p#4 -favorite reticle

This model E1 is not listed on Burris website. I had been looking for this exact reticle in other brands and was happy to find it made by Burris and on sale at a crazy low price. I have just mounted it and am about to go bore site it. I have an older Fullfield 6x40 with a 3p#4 non illuminated. It is my oldest scope and every time I think of replacing it I look through it and decide to keep it. Exceptionally nice glass who, if price factors in to review, should make it a five star. Quick review of pros and cons. Several pros, perfect reticle with 10 settings of brightness on the dot. Every click in between turns the dot off and the clicks are nice and tactile. Turrets: I will mention the caps which might sound silly but several scopes have caps that are a pain to screw back on. These are very accommodating . Turrets are nice low profile with excellent knobs that are easy to grasp and turn. The adjustments could be a little crisper but are plenty distinct enough to let you count. Overall happy with them. The dials are labeled nicely and are attractive. I only found the weight listed on one site and it says 13oz. Seems about right. The industrial-ish power ring makes it a little rear heavy. Placement means it won't upset balance of a light rifle. The magnification numbers, like the brightness numbers, are hard for me to read. This isn't a big deal as the zoom is done by 'feel' anyway. On The brightness knob, you can compare setting #1 to setting #10 by reversing a single click. I am sure I won't need 10 settings but what the heck. The power ring is stiff and I hope lightens up with use- but perfectly usable as is. Eye Relief is wonderful at all powers. Mounting is a breeze because of that and because the turret is seated in the middle of the tube maximizing the ability to move the scope forward or backwards as needed before securing the rings. I could not do a very scientific brightness test having not yet taken it to the field. I do expect I will be able to shoot hogs after sundown using this scope. Now- off to the range to zero her in.

The Burris Optics Fullfield E1 3x-9x50 Ballistic Plex Riflescope permits greater precision when firing as it allows for very easy correction not only of the vertical but now also of the horizontal point of impact misalignment. It provides a simple, uncluttered method for determining both trajectory and wind compensation. A series of cascading dots to the left and right of the reticle help compensate for crosswinds. The dots represent a 10 mph crosswind (+/- 1.5" at 400 yd.) for most hunting cartridges. For a 5 mph crosswind, halve the distance between dot and reticle. For 20 mph crosswind, simply double the distance.
