Review: Burris XTR II 3-15x50 (SCR-MIL Illuminated Reticle) Build & Design The XTR II is wonderfully built. Even though it's now discontinued, it still feels modern-solid, rugged, and surprisingly lightweight for a tactical optic in this category. The turrets are crisp with positive clicks, tracking feels reliable, and the illumination controls are intuitive. It gives confidence right away that this scope can handle hard use. Reticle (SCR-MIL Illuminated) The SCR-MIL reticle is one of the standout features. It's clean, precise, and very usable for both tactical and precision applications. The illumination is sharp and not overly bright, making it practical in low-light situations without washing out the target. Performance at Low Magnification At the lower end (around 3-6x), the scope really shines. The glass is clear, edge-to-edge performance is strong, and sight picture acquisition is quick. At this range, it feels like you're looking through a high-quality optic, making it excellent for closer shots or hunting scenarios. Optical Quality at Higher Magnification This is where the main drawback comes in. At 10x and above, the brightness noticeably drops. The image can look dim-almost like wearing tinted sunglasses. While still usable, this dimming effect makes long-range shooting in less-than-ideal light more challenging. For a scope in this class, the expectation is better light transmission at max magnification. Comparison to Nikon FX1000 Compared to older optics like the Nikon FX1000 series, the Burris XTR II comes across as the more modern, feature-rich scope. The build quality, turrets, and reticle are all superior. However, when it comes to the single most important factor-glass clarity-the Japanese glass in the FX1000 completely outshines the XTR II. The Nikon delivers brighter, crisper images at distance, making precise impacts easier. That's the one area where this otherwise excellent Burris falls short: the actual reason you use a scope, which is to clearly see and engage your target. Final Thoughts The Burris XTR II 3-15x is a scope with excellent build quality, a great reticle, and strong low-to-mid magnification performance. However, its optical limitations at the high end prevent it from truly competing with premium glass. For the price (especially at closeout deals from EuroOptic), it's a very good value for shooters who want durability and features over top-tier glass clarity. Pros: ? Solid, lightweight build ? I would gove ZERO stars if i could. Update on my Return! Sent email on the 30th asking about my refund that was supposed to be issued on the 29th. I was sent an email back asking for a tracking number. Then a few minutes later said disregard the other email. No information on my refund. That was the only question I asked. Then sent an email on the 1st no response. Called and the phone was answered by a very rude and disrespectful man. Was told to "Let him Speak". Then talked to a woman and she advised that my return is being processed! They have had it since the 15th of October at 1039 in the morning. Now my refund will be issued sometime next week now! We will see. Customer service is horrible!

Purchased this sight on September 30th. Put on my bow and the range finder would not hold true after a few shots. Come to find out that the range finder was loose inside the housing. I first called to try and speak to someone. No response. Then emailed no response. Called again finally spoke to someone and they advised me to email them from the order email I received from them. After doing so I finally received an email back with my RMA number. Mailed the sight back on 10/11. They received the sight back on 10/15. No response about receiving the sight back. Emailed to see what was taking so long to get our refund since they had it back for 4 days . No response. Called and asked what was taking so long. I was advised that it says on their website that it takes 2 weeks to refund after they receive the item back. If they need 2 weeks to determine if the item is defective or if it was user error before refunding my money then i should get the option of trying the item for 2 weeks before paying for the item. Customer Service is very lacking.

I bought this because I have a hard time judging distances ( I have glasses) and where i hunt the deer move a lot so a rangefinder would be impractical. fortunately this solved the problem. the range does take some finagling to line up, but once its all sighted in its perfect. i typically shoot between 7-80yds and it works for all of them. the only thing wrong is the button Velcro is useless, i eventually just used epoxy to keep it on.

Have one of the first Oracle's and absolutely love it. I've been hunting the mountains and long open range for Elk and Red stag to dense thick bush for Whitetails and Moose. This sight truly is a game changer for me. Will be ordering the Oracle 2 and will write a full review once I receive it. I'm increasing my shooting weight and FOC to 620 grains and over 20% FOC. I'm looking forward to storing multiple arrow profiles with to see what I can max out the distance shooting setups.

I loved my Oracle and I cant wait to try the 2. It sounds like they improved the only thing I had an issue with and that was the lowest brightness setting wasn't quite low enough.

Bought a xtr 2 in 3-15 so far the glass is great!!! Took it out for the first tracking test and it failed miserably, however it did return to absolute zero! Gonna take it out again and play with the parallax adjustment some more a perform a second test. If optic fails to track again it will be sent back to the factory. Two stars for now hopefully this will improve after the second test.

I purchased the 3-15X power scope "only" six months ago; however, I have put thousands of rounds through the gun to include a sniper school. The scope allows me to consistently shoot .159" groups (Fed GM 168gr .308 in a stock Ruger Precision). The scope was good for center mass hits at a 1,000 yards and I suspect I would have hit the 8" circle if I had not shot it up at shorter distances (600 and 800 yards) with the same gun. I also used the scope to make accurate shots at night during the low-light shoot/no shoot portion of the school. This long range performance exceeded my expectations for a 3-15X scope. I'm so satisfied with the performance of the XTR II that I was hoping to hold out for the XTR III to put on my new 6.5 CM but I couldn't wait so purchased a second XTR II but in 5-25X.
