I?ve had this scope for a few months and I?m just overall disappointed for the price point. Not very good glass and it becomes unusable in lowlight for a hunting setup. I am bummed because I really wanted to like this optic. I really like the SCR reticle but unfortunately that?s about the only thing I like about this scope. I think for someone shooting on nice sunny days at the range it would be ok but for hunting it?s a no go for me.

I have used this scope extensively and find being able to shoot in wind at all distances to be easy. Shoot at a rock for wind, move the scope and done.

I have other XTR II and they are awesome. This one now so much... Going in for repair/replacement already (42 rounds on rifle). So far CS has given me a canned response on how to mount a scope and what rings to use... hopefully the warranty process starts going smoother.

Kinda of a pre-review as I have not received my Ruger PRS to mount it on yet. However, I can tell you the unboxing was great. Very high quality piece of equipment. Have called Burris on multiple occasions with just general questions, and their support is second to none. With the Burris Forever Warranty how could you wrong! I will update or write another review once I field test the product.

Great scope, I bought 4 so far and love them. Fyi don't over torque the front scope ring when mounting. It can bind the focus adjuster within the scope body somehow.

I bought my XTR 2 in 5-25x50 for my Ruger Precision 6.5 CM. Couple that with some American Rifleman rings, and everything looks and functions as intended. I had 19 Mils of elevation before zeroing, and afterwards, I have 16. People have stated this scope is only good for short range hunting and what not, but with the numbers above, that's simply not true. Thousand yard + shots are easily achievable with this scope, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Glass is clear, magnification is nice, reticle's crisp. I'd definitely buy another.

I am installing a XTR II 5-25×50mm on a Remington 700 5R rifle, 6.5 Creedmor. I will be using a EGW 20 moa rail. I want the scope as close to the barrel as possible. Which size rings do you recommend?

One of the best scopes at this price point, performs like a scope costing twice as much. Match this scope with Burris XTR Signature Rings and you get an unbeatable combo.

This scope has super clarity, tracks flawlessly and is super easy to use. Turrets are as good as they come. So impressed that I bought a second. BTW I also own several Leupold MK4's and several Ziess scopes. Burris is as good or even better in most cases.

This is a wonderfull scope. I almost purchased a vortex scope, but my friend showed how wonderful this scope is on his rifle. Hence, I changed my mind and got this scope. 338 Lapua Mag + Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle + Burris Scope = The Best

Mounted the XTRII 5-25X50 in Seekins Precision rings and rail on a Bergara 6.5 creedmoor. 6 rounds fired exactly at center target at 100yd would end up in 2 groups 3 shots touching exactly 3" apart staggering hit location between each shot. Disassembled firearm, retorqued and loctited all mounts/hardware, retested firearm at 100yd with same results. Removed Burris and installed Nightforce ATACR 5-25X56 F1, sighted in scope and took 1st place in a 1000yd steel shoot competition 3 days later (10" & 4" steels @ 1k). I also have the Burris XTRII 4-20X50 on a 300wm that has had no issues which is why I purchased the 5-25X50.

I purchased the Burris Eliminator 3 with upgraded software, and COMPLETELY love it. I can’t say enough about Burris optics, to the point that whenever I’m at the range, people want to check out my scope. I’m always bragging it up and a few friends have purchased Burris scopes after seeing mine and taking a shot with it mounted on my 6.5 Creedmoor. And a few of them were completely sold on there Vortex optics, until they checked out my Burris. So when Ruger Precision Rifle announced that they are making the Precision Rifle chambered in 300PRC I knew I needed a new scope for that rifle and optics to get me out to a mile. So I just purchased the Burris XTR II 5x25x50 MOA with SCR reticle. And to put it mildly.... I am stoked to get it mounted and stretch its legs out to see how it performs. Thank Burris

Had a friend new to PRS buy this on recs from other shooters and was so impressed after setting it up I bought one and have now sold my ATACR and bought a 2nd XTR II. As far as the guy who said his wasn't tracking correctly it actually was spot on. 1 MOA is actually 1.047" at 100 yards, not 1". Had he extrapolated the tracking target results he'd of found he had a very tight setup. Oh well you can lead a horse to water.

My name is Shad Kimbrell, I shoot for Hart Rifle Barrels in the PRS. I have been using the Burris xtr II 5x25x50 from the beginning. This scope has yet to fail me and it has been skull dragged though just about every field condition you can encounter. Rain, mud, heat, cold and beat against everything from wood planks to concrete blocks. Still tracking.......

I shoot 300-1670 yards currently working towards 2250. I have the xtr2 5-25 mil-r and love it. At my current skill level which probably advanced novice I can shoot every bit as good with this scope as my buddy with an atacr. 10 out of 10 at 1000 with a 10" group is pretty good. Sure his $2900 scope might have a few features this one doesn't but when what matters is the poi and group size the price and performance far outweigh features for our uses. And customer service has been phenomenal.

Had this custom built .338 Lapua rifle built and topped with the Burris XTR ii and never looked back. Shooting anything under 300 yards and this scope will laugh at you.

Bought this scope back in February. Had high expectations. Sold a second focal plane Leupold Mk 4 to put this on my rifle. I had issues with the eye box at full power, scope was very sensitive to eye position behind the scope. Land you head is slightly the wrong spot and you get massive amounts of distortion. Caused severe eye strain. I just couldn’t deal with the eye relief issue. I bought a Leupold Mk5 and the Burris is on eBay

I bought the Burris xtr ii 5x25x50 with the scr moa reticle. It is extremely clear and is razor sharp. It tracks so well. I built a .308 ar-10 with the intention of stretching it out to 1000 yards. I put a lot of time and research into parts I put on the gun. I only buy the best. You can’t go wrong with Burris scopes. I have never shot past 100 yards until a couple of days ago. I zeroed the scope at 100 yards then consistently shot 300 and 500 yards with ease. It was too easy. I compared this scope to several other brands at the same price range. I chose Burris because of the total elevation it offers, the glass quality, and how rugged it is. You can’t hurt this scope. While I was shooting my gun fell over. Everything was fine the scope still tracked perfectly and no scuffs or damage to the glass or anything else. I guess my only complaint is that the scope caps fell off due to the muzzle brake and I didn’t know it then the next shot cracked the cap at the hinge and now my front cap doesn’t function like it did. Does anyone know where I can get another one I can’t seem to find Burris scope caps. Either way this is my first Burris scope and it won’t be my last.

I bought this scope 3 years also for my competition rifle and it's outclassed a lot of more expensive scope for tracking and holding true in adverse conditions. I recommend this scope every chance I get.

I bought a 5-25 with 8 mils per rev. I've had it for several years on an ar10. It has never lost 0 and always dials true. It's been hauled through everything mud, water, snow, ice it's been dropped kicked and sat on still solid

Where precision and rugged reliability converge, the XTR II 5-25x50 mm riflescope stands as a testament to advanced optical engineering and performance. Designed for the discerning competitive shooter and tactical operator, this riflescope boasts a robust 5-times zoom system, allowing for versatile magnification adjustments from 5x to 25x, ideal for a wide range of shooting scenarios.
Crafted with a 25% thicker tube than its predecessor, the XTR Riflescope, this model ensures enhanced durability and a solid platform for the high-stakes demands of long-range shooting. The 34mm tube diameter not only provides a substantial structural rigidity but also allows for a greater range of windage and elevation adjustment, giving shooters the confidence to make precise shots at extended distances.
At the heart of this optic is the first focal plane illuminated SCR Mil Reticle, which dynamically scales with magnification changes, maintaining the correct trajectory compensation and proportional reticle size at any power setting. This feature is crucial for shooters who require consistent, accurate holdovers and windage corrections, regardless of the magnification level.
The XTR II is equipped with dimensionally-matched precision adjustment knobs that offer a tactile and audible response with each click. The Zero Click Stop technology is a significant advantage, allowing for a quick and easy return to zero after dialing temporary elevation and windage adjustments.
Optical clarity is paramount, and the XTR II does not disappoint. The high-performance optics are enhanced with Hi-Lume multi-coatings, which elevate target resolution and contrast while optimizing performance in low-light conditions. This ensures that the shooter's view is crisp, clear, and bright, even as daylight wanes.
Durability is further reinforced with hand-fitted internal assemblies that are triple spring-tensioned, providing absolute shockproofing against the harshest recoil and maintaining zero under extreme conditions. The riflescope's resilience is bolstered by its vibration resistance, ensuring reliable performance whether you're engaged in a prolonged vehicular patrol or navigating rugged backcountry terrain.
In summary, the 5-25x50 XTR II Riflescope is a high-quality, durable, and reliable choice for shooters who demand the utmost in optical precision and resilience. Its advanced features, including the first focal plane illuminated reticle and side parallax focus, make it an innovative solution for long-range shooting and hunting enthusiasts who require a clear and precise view of their target at all times.
