Bought this to replace a Burris Signature HD 5-25x50, needed a bit more focal length. This has DCH reticle. I have this scope is on a pellet gun, yes a pellet gun.....I'll never shoot more than 300yards and being an F-Class scope was worried with the 50yard minimum focal length, but the focus is fine, the glass is excellent, sharp & crystal clear. This scope defiantly helps with great zoom, and the precise turret adjustments aid in pin-point bullet (slug) placement...definitely makes hitting that golf ball at 200yards much easier than before & those pesty Chippies don't stand a chance now. There's always a faster car but they usually cost considerably more.....hard to find a better scope, especially in this price range - great value for the dollar.

I have previously rated this scope a 1 out of 5 due to a reticle shift. I'd like to update on this as Burris has since replaced the whole scope at no cost to myself. Their customer service is great and it's worth noting should you ever have an issue. As for the new scope, it's been going strong for a couple of years now with no issues at all. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of the illumination. Instead of illuminating the whole reticle, it's just the two cross junctions on the reticle and they're not very bright (even at maximum and I've had to use a different scope for night hunts. As for hunting or competing normally, i'd highly recommend this scope. the 40 power magnification has got me through a couple of really challenging stages with a good advantage.

I bought this several months to go atop a custom rifle. Looked at all PRS utilized scopes and decided on the Burris XTR II 8-40x50 because of the high-power magnification and the 1/8 MOA adjustments. It also has a zero stop and built for a 20 MOA canted rings. It passed elevation and box tests with ease. It's a real treat to have when shooting past 600 yards, great for ELR shooting. It's easy to adjust parallex, magnification and elevation and windage. I recommend it.

I have actually had this XTR II to the range a lot. It is easy to see through the scope is very clear and the adjustments to elevation and windage nice and crisp. I will purchase another XTR rifle scope.

I’m in love with this scope!! Only problem is, it’s a illuminated scope and it won’t illuminate. So just got it, got it Mounted cited in now I’ve got to take it off and send it back in

Excellent glass for the price. Would have been 5 stars but these do not come with any kind of cover. Kind of surprised me.

I was unable to get this scope to sight in. I removed a cheaper scope from my AR(which was actually shooting dead on) and purchased this more expensive scope. I used the exact same mount. I didn't even remove the mount. I dropped this new scope in the same rings and was unable to get it sighted in.

This is a solid piece of equipment. The visibility is awesome, it's crisp and clear. Elevation/Windage changes result in audible verification.

I bought this scope for an upcoming hunt. My existing scope only had a cross hairs reticle. features the Ballistic reticle. The reticle rapidly compensates for wind, elevation out to 500 yards. This feature worked perfectly for me and I'm sure it will help in my next hunt.

I am very pleased with the XTR 40x scope thus far; but while ready to take it out further than 100 yds, the ballistic website program only allows reticle analysis fir scope heights (center bore to center scope) up to 3” max, but a SCAR17 with 1-1/2” Burris signature rings for 34mm tube yields 3.42” height. Burris said they are checking into this, but there is no firm commitment yet to update their website to suit 3.5” height. I may be forced to buy my own ballistic computer program; although Burris advertised support of the scope on free website.

Previously used Nightforce Comp (great glass) but the thin reticle would disappear in a mid to heavy mirage. Regardless of glass quality, if you can't see the reticle, you will not hit the target. Tried the XTR II 8-40x50 and found the glass was about 90% of the NF Comp but the reticle was perfect. It's always framing the rings on the target regardless of the magnification setting due to the FFP. First purchased my first XTR II 8-40x50 in 2017, my 2nd early 2018 and just recently received my 3rd. in 2018, this scope help me win the Australian National F-Open, Australian National F-Open Grand Agg and the Mace Medal F-Open at the Australian National.

I got a chance to use my new scope this weekend and could not be happier. The sight picture is sharp and clear. It easy to sight in and has held true through the 15 rounds I put through my 308. This is my first Burris scope and so far I am very happy with it.
