Review Summary

Sometimes I forget just how much better B+W filters are than others. I again tried a more budget-oriented brand and finally had to replace it. These polarizers are just so good - very pronounced effect, smooth turning, no perceptible color cast, and I have never, not once had a B+W filter get stuck on a lens. I have used the top -of-the-line polarizers from B+W, but honestly this entry-level model is all I need for my professional work.

Circular polarizing filter is a must for landscape photography. The B+W was a great choice. It fits snuggly on the lens but is easy to take off when not needed. Allows plenty of light onto the sensor while blocking reflections from water or chrome. Gives nice rendering of colors without being overly saturated.

An excellent choice

Circular polarizing filter is a must for landscape photography. The B+W was a great choice. It fits snuggly on the lens but is easy to take off when not needed. Allows plenty of light onto the sensor while blocking reflections from water or chrome. Gives nice rendering of colors without being overly saturated.
Under the clear, expansive sky, capture the vividness of nature's palette with the 105mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter, a quintessential tool for both amateur and professional photographers. This high-quality filter enhances the purity of inherent colors, boosting color saturation to create images that pop with life. Its durable construction ensures longevity, while the effective multi-resistant coating (MRC) minimizes unwanted reflections, glare, and lens flare, sharpening your images for a pristine finish.
The versatile nature of this circular polarizer makes it a perfect match for a broad array of lenses, particularly beneficial for wide-angle shots where the risk of vignetting is mitigated by its rounded design. Its ease of use is highlighted by the rotating filter mount, allowing photographers to adjust the polarization level in real-time, either through the viewfinder or on a digital display, to achieve the desired visual impact.
In addition to intensifying skies and autumnal hues, this polarizer adeptly reduces reflections from non-metallic surfaces, such as water and glass, revealing the hidden details behind them. This effect is invaluable for capturing the essence of street scenes and candid moments without the need for post-processing manipulation.
Compatible with most modern cameras, the 105mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter ensures that light metering and autofocus functions operate without a hitch, preventing exposure errors. With a light loss of only 1 to 1.5 f-stops, it is less intrusive to your exposure settings compared to other polarizers that can absorb up to 3 stops of light.
Ideal for landscape photography, the maximum polarization effect is attained when shooting at a 90-degree angle to the sun, with a recommended minimum focal length of 28mm in 35mm format to maintain an even effect across the image. When positioned correctly, this polarizer can fully suppress reflections, provided the lighting and shooting angles align with the angle of maximum polarization, typically between 30 and 40 degrees.
Elevate your photography with the 105mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter, an indispensable accessory that promises to deliver crisp, vibrant, and glare-free images.
