Sometimes I forget just how much better B+W filters are than others. I again tried a more budget-oriented brand and finally had to replace it. These polarizers are just so good - very pronounced effect, smooth turning, no perceptible color cast, and I have never, not once had a B+W filter get stuck on a lens. I have used the top -of-the-line polarizers from B+W, but honestly this entry-level model is all I need for my professional work.

Circular polarizing filter is a must for landscape photography. The B+W was a great choice. It fits snuggly on the lens but is easy to take off when not needed. Allows plenty of light onto the sensor while blocking reflections from water or chrome. Gives nice rendering of colors without being overly saturated.

An excellent choice

Circular polarizing filter is a must for landscape photography. The B+W was a great choice. It fits snuggly on the lens but is easy to take off when not needed. Allows plenty of light onto the sensor while blocking reflections from water or chrome. Gives nice rendering of colors without being overly saturated.
Find the secret to capturing radiant white clouds against a deep blue sky or the vibrant hues of fall foliage with the 39mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter. This high-quality and durable filter, produced by the reputable brand B+W, is a crucial tool for both analog and digital photography. It enhances the purity of intrinsic colors, significantly increasing color saturation for a more vivid image.
The B+W polarizer filter is designed with rotating mounts, allowing you to visibly control the polarization effect directly in the viewfinder or on the monitor display. This easy-to-use feature provides a fascinating image enhancement without the need for post-processing.
One of the most effective features of this versatile filter is its ability to reduce reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, and glossy paint. This makes objects and people behind surfaces like shop windows and car windshields visible again, adding depth and clarity to your photographs.
The B+W polarizing filters are circular polarizers, compatible with nearly all modern cameras, making them a versatile addition to your photography equipment. They are designed to avoid exposure errors when beam splitters are used in the light path for TTL exposure metering or autofocus.
The filter's multiplying factor with HTC is 2 to 3, equivalent to 1 to 1.5 f-stops, offering more control over your image's exposure than other polarizers that offer up to approximately 3 stops.
For landscape photographers, the maximum polarization effect is achieved when shooting at a 90-degree angle to the sun. And for an even effect in the picture, your focal length should ideally not be less than 28 mm in 35 mm format.
In an ideal situation, with the help of a properly oriented polarizer, reflections can be completely suppressed. This ideal situation refers to when the lighting and shooting angles are almost the same and correspond to the angle of maximum polarization, usually 30 Degree to 40 Degree.
In conclusion, the 39mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter is an essential tool for any photographer looking to enhance their images' color saturation, reduce unwanted reflections, and improve overall image quality.
