I always thought polarizes are all practically the same... I was wrong.... This filter is so good I'm sticking with Kaesemann's (B+W) going forward. The pearl slows the lens at least by 2 stops (maybe even 2.5) on a 50mm f1.8 ii Canon The Nikon slows the lens at least by 1.5 on both L lenses 24-70 (gen i) | 70-200mm is (gen 2) 2.8 The B+W 0.5 stops on a 35mm f/2 is usm I own: An old school Pearl Linear Polarizer 52mm Nikon circular polarizer II 77mm (This one) B+W MRC F-Pro 67mm

Typical polarizes absorb approximately two stops of light. This new design only requires one stop! That's greater depth of field, a higher shutter speed or lower ISO. Take your pick. It's well made, but I would purchase the lower profile version if your lens is below 24mm on a full-frame camera.
