The main purpose of this filter is to reduce the amount of light entering the camera lens. This allows for a wider aperture and slower shutter speed to be used in bright conditions, making it ideal for landscape and architectural photography where a shallow depth of field and capturing movement are desired.
The multi-layer anti-reflective coating is designed to reduce reflections and glare. This results in improved image quality and contrast, helping to deliver crisp, clear photos.
The 10-stop density allows for greater control over the amount of light entering the camera lens. This enables a wider range of exposure options in challenging lighting conditions, including the ability to create a shallow depth of field or to capture movement in a scene.
No, this filter should not be used for direct solar observation due to the risk of eye damage from UV and IR rays. Special sun filters from astronomy suppliers should be used for safe direct observation of the sun.
The dirt- and water-repellent coating provides protection for the filter, making it more durable and longer-lasting. It also simplifies the maintenance process, ensuring that the filter remains clean and clear for consistent use.

After decades of photography I've only recently begun experimenting with ND filters. When I decided to try this out there wasn't even the briefest hesitation that I would choose B+W. They've been my brand of choice for UV filters for the last twenty years, and I feel absolute confidence in their quality and value.

I'm a big fan of B+W filters so I knew when I started to get into M glass that I was gonna need a few. For one thing I wanted an ND filter to be able to achieve some creamy bokeh shots and it does exactly that. Very well made, filters 100% recommend.

Under the precise craftsmanship of high-quality optics, the 43mm Master 810M ND 3.0 10-Stop MRC Nano Neutral Density Filter stands as an essential tool for professional photographers seeking to elevate their imagery. This durable filter offers a substantial light reduction of ten f-stops, surpassing the capabilities of standard ND filters like the B+W ND 106, and enabling photographers to transform dynamic scenes into ethereal masterpieces.
The effectiveness of this filter is evident as it turns the bustling motion of city life into a serene tableau; running water softens into a silky veil, and pedestrians on busy streets are artistically rendered into ghostly silhouettes or erased entirely. Such creative control often necessitates extended exposures, sometimes up to a full minute, making a stable tripod an indispensable companion for the use of this filter.
At the heart of the 43mm Master 810M ND filter lies a finely ground and polished special glass, ensuring that the optical quality is preserved and that the filter complements rather than detracts from the performance of high-quality lenses. The innovative thin-film technology employed in this filter not only achieves the desired neutral density effect but also incorporates a multi-layer anti-reflective coating. This coating, consisting of seven layers on each side of the filter, effectively minimizes reflections and glare, thus enhancing image quality and contrast.
Furthermore, the filter benefits from a versatile and reliable multi-coating combination that includes an outer layer designed to repel dirt and water. This feature not only provides comprehensive protection for the filter but also simplifies the maintenance process, ensuring that the filter remains clean and clear for consistent use.
The uniform light attenuation across the entire visible spectrum ensures that images captured with the 43mm Master 810M ND filter are optimally color-neutral, preserving the true hues and integrity of the scene. Versatile in its applications, this filter is particularly well-suited for landscape and architectural photography, where control over depth of field and the ability to capture movement are paramount.
Please note that ND filters, including the 43mm Master 810M ND 3.0 10-Stop MRC Nano Neutral Density Filter, are not suitable for direct solar observation due to the risk of eye damage from UV and IR rays. For safe direct observation of the sun, specialized sun filters from astronomy suppliers should be used.
