Shopper : will this fit my Nikon AF Nikkor 35mm 1:2D lens?JACQUELINE S : I don't know. Am using it on a Panasonic Lumix lensJASON H : Well it's hard to say ... according to Nikon the "AF Nikkor 35mm f/2D" lens does take a 52mm filter. Whether this is the same lens as yours, your description have a slightly different, I can only assume that YES a 52mm filter should fit.Rustico L : Yes. I use it for my 35 f2.HENDRIK E : I use it for 35mm 1.4D and it works okayDANA J : Yes, this filter will fit that lens.LOWELL B : Sorry, I cannot answer as all my equipment is Canon. Ken Rockwell might be able to.EVAN F : It will. Any 52mm thread filter should fit. BRIAN M : It shouldKENNETH R : Yes this filter will fit as your screw in filter size is 52mm.ROBERT V : YesEARL R : Yes...if your lens takes a 52mm filter.LEE A : Yes, your lens has a filter size of 52mm, so this is perfect! Source : Tech specs for this lens on the Nikon site.JAIDEEP S : Yes it should, as the lens is also 52mm on it front end.
RONNIE W : WHAT SIZE UV AND/OR POLARIZER FILTER WOULD I NEED FOR MY NEW CANON POWERSHOT SX30?ALAN F : Ronnie, your Canon Powershot sx30 has a fixed lens.when you shutoff your camera does the lens have a built in lens cap that covers and protects that lens? If so then you cannot ad any outside attachments to that lens as it will interfear with the built in lens cap.If that camera lens has a removable lens cap look at the underside and it will state what size filter in mm will fit onto that lens. I have a digital SLR that has several different removable lenses-and they all have different sized lens caps -thus I need a filter in mm`s for each different lens --and the cap for each lens shows in mm what size to buy for each lens. Good luck, AlanCHRISTIAN S : Thank you Craig. I omitted the need for the adapter.CHRISTIAN S : Hi Ronnie, I double checked Canon's website and it is recommended you pick up a 67mm filter for your camera. Get those shots! ChristianLOWELL B : Ronnie: I usually use this filter just to protect the lens. I has so little effect on the overall picture. I guess on could use a plain glass (Clear) filter, but by using the blue fileter, it takes a little red out of my pictures and I do mean, very little red. LowellCRAIG M : The Powershot SX30 IS needs an adapter to attach filters such as a Canon FA-DC67A 67mm Filter Adapter. Then you will need 67mm filters.ERIC B : The SX30 doesn't mount standard threaded filters like this. You can use 58mm filters however if you get an accessory like a Lensmate which attaches to where a hood mounts and holds a threaded filter.
Shopper : I have a 50mm 1.8 AF D lens for my Nikon D50. I would like to know if this will fit my lens as I cracked my filter lens?ERIC B : John, the focal length is 50mm, but the filter size is 52mm. The same 52mm filter is used on a variety of lenses like this Nikon 50mm 1.8, the 28mm 2.8, 35mm 2.0, 18-55 zoom, etc. etc.ERIC B : It should work perfectly. I use a few of these B+W filters and am quite pleased.JASON H : Generally, the Nikon D series use a 52mm filters and lens cap ... that said, depending on your lens, there are other common sizes - 62mm, 72mm, and 77mm. For the 50mm 1.8D AF Nikkor lens, it uses the 52mm filter lens.WILLIAM D : I use it on my 50mm f1.4 and as long as your lens uses the 52mm filter size it should work very well. I like the filter and it has served me well, everyone know that German glass is the best and the B&W glass is no exception. The filter is well made and the threads match well, the filter goes on very smoothly. Hope this helps.JONATHAN F : JOHN M - Don't confuse focal length with filter size. Both are printed on the lens so it can be confusing. The focal length is usually printed on the front of the lens, around the circumference of the front element. The filter size may also be there, or it could be somewhere else. The "ø" symbol differentiates the filter size from the focal length. On the 50mm f/1.8 AF D lens, the focal length is printed on the front ("50mm") and the filter size is printed on the bottom (ø=52mm).JONATHAN F : Yes, I purchased this filter specifically for the 50mm 1.8 lens. But you should confirm the filter size of your lens before buying. Look for this symbol: ø (hope it shows up properly - a small o with a slash through it). Printed somewhere on every lens, this symbol designates the filter size, like this: ø = 52mmJOHN M : This filter is too big ,for a 50 mm lens you need a 50 mm filter

Excellent filters

B&W filters are a bit more expensive, but well worth the difference in price.

High quality construction

Very nice quality. Got it as lens protector. How well it does that is debatable. For me the biggest benefit is that the filter is easier to clean than the front lens element.

Learned my lesson

Made the mistake of throwing a "Amazon basic" UV filter on my new lens right before a trip. "it's just a UV filter... how bad could it be, right?" Horrible flare straight-up ruined a pile of otherwise stunning sunrise photos in my set. Didn't catch it until post processing at home. Buy it right the first time. It's not like this B&W filter even breaks the bank. It's a steal and the difference was night and day.

Great Filters

I prefer B+W filters because they clean easier. They don't fog while cleaning. I also like the thinness of the mounting ring. No vignetting.

B+W Filters are the Best!

B+W filters are the only filters I use. Why pay a lot for a good body and lenes only to jeopardize a shot with an inferior filter?

Nice addition filter

I use this more for moisture and damage protection of lens coatings/glass in the field than anything. I notice image improvement on foggy/hazy days, and will use it in tandem with a shade/hood to prevent image flaring.

Great filter

I love that this filter as are all B+W filters are made of metal, not plastic. They are a little more expensive, but have great glass and are in my opinion more durable.

Value

What do I know from color tint? It protects my expensive (TO ME) lens, isnt the cheapest or most expensive. Other people who claim to know something liked it. Images through it are clear. What more could you ask?

Worth it

The debate over UV filters in the digital era will rage on. And while others do so I'll be sitting here not worried because B+W are that good and I have that much confidence in their product.

This UV filter is hard see. It?s that good!

This filter?s glass is hard to see. That is because it does an excellent job with its nano coating of not creating ghost images. And the glass is flat ? real flat! I only get filters with brass rings now because I have learned that aluminum rings sometimes don?t come off without a set of good filter wrenches, which cannot be good for the lens or camera. The rings on the B + W series are brass - the right stuff! This filter is more expensive than a lot of other UV filters, but I don?t want a poorly made filter to degrade the image I can get with an expensive lens.

Perfect.

Other than the lack of the word "Canon," this lens hood is a dead ringer for the one made by Canon. It slips on petals out just fine, and also petals back over the lens so it fits in my over-the-shoulder camera bag. Very affordable. Recommended.

49mm UV Haze Glass Filter.

I like the filter so far. I?ve put it on a macro lens and it seems to be helpful with the light while also protecting the lens. The fit was perfect and the quality is very good.

Quality filters from B+W

Love my B+W filters. Pictures continue to look fantastic through my Sigma Art lens. The brass constructions provides confidence against ring seizing vs the lens threads.

Good protection!

I love it so much!! It was so good I had this put on before my trip. I was at the beach and lots of sand dust and wave sprinkles landed on the filter. Such a great investment to protect your expensive lens!

It works! From experience.

By Becca

I have always used filters to protect my lenses, but recently I (accidentally) put this filter to the test! It was on my Canon 24mm 1.4 L lens when it fell (sans lens cap) out of my camera bag onto a concrete floor, front side down. Yikes. The filter cracked and looked like a spiderweb, but did not shatter. I checked it out and it appeared that the lens was not scratched. However, the impact had dented the edge so that I could not unscrew the filter. After seeking advice from a professional, ...

Wow!! Awesome filter!!!

By CRAIG M.

Quite some time ago while I was considering a Nikon D200, then a D300, (but more recently -- and I'm glad I procrastinated, purchased the Nikon D90!), I purchased a fairly inexpensive set of 3 standard Merkury filters, mostly for lens protection and some UV and haze reduction. HUGE mistake! You get what you pay for. No multi-coating, either. The fit on the Nikon 18-200mm zoom was very good. Problem is: the filter simply did not work. Oh, I got great "effects" from the cheap filter, bu...
