Review Summary

Sometimes I forget just how much better B+W filters are than others. I again tried a more budget-oriented brand and finally had to replace it. These polarizers are just so good - very pronounced effect, smooth turning, no perceptible color cast, and I have never, not once had a B+W filter get stuck on a lens. I have used the top -of-the-line polarizers from B+W, but honestly this entry-level model is all I need for my professional work.

Circular polarizing filter is a must for landscape photography. The B+W was a great choice. It fits snuggly on the lens but is easy to take off when not needed. Allows plenty of light onto the sensor while blocking reflections from water or chrome. Gives nice rendering of colors without being overly saturated.

An excellent choice

Circular polarizing filter is a must for landscape photography. The B+W was a great choice. It fits snuggly on the lens but is easy to take off when not needed. Allows plenty of light onto the sensor while blocking reflections from water or chrome. Gives nice rendering of colors without being overly saturated.
What sets the 60mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter apart is its ability to enhance the vibrancy and purity of colors in your photography. This high-quality filter is a crucial tool for both analog and digital photography, designed to augment the intrinsic colors of your subject, whether it's the radiant white clouds against a deep blue sky or the rich hues of fall foliage.
This versatile filter features a multi-coated coating, effectively reducing reflections and glare from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, and glossy paint. This results in improved image quality and contrast, making objects and people behind these surfaces visible again. It's a fascinating way to enhance your images without the need for post-processing.
The 60mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter is a circular polarizer, compatible with nearly all modern cameras. It's designed with a rotating mount, allowing you to visibly control the polarization effect in the viewfinder or on the monitor display. This feature ensures that exposure errors are avoided when beam splitters are used in the light path for TTL exposure metering or autofocus.
With a multiplying factor of 2 to 3, equivalent to 1 to 1.5 f-stops, this durable filter outperforms other polarizers that only reach up to approximately 3 stops. It's worth noting that the maximum polarization effect is achieved in landscape photography when shooting at an angle of 90 degrees to the sun.
The rounded design of this easy-to-use filter reduces vignetting and provides a more evenly distributed filter effect, resulting in a more natural and pleasing image. In an ideal situation, with proper orientation, reflections can be completely suppressed, usually at an angle of maximum polarization between 30 and 40 degrees.
In conclusion, the 60mm Basic Circular Polarizer MRC Filter is an effective and essential tool for any photographer looking to improve their image quality and color saturation.
