B+W Kasemann HTC Polarizing Filters New B+W Kaesemann HTC (High Transmission Circular) Polarizer filters provide greater light transmission while delivering the hallmark characteristics of a fine B+W polarizing filter.  Known for reflection reduction and improved color, polarizing filters are valued tools, especially for ever-changing outdoor environments. The trade off historically has been light loss. Use of standard polarizing filters comes with a loss of up to 2.5 f/stops of light transmitted, which can increase desired depth of field or shutter speed. However, the B+W next-generation HTC filters utilize a proprietary layer of specially selected, high-transmission polarizing foil, which reduces light loss to just 1-1.5 stops making them work much better in low light situations. 

It is high quality and performs amazingly well provided, of course, that the reflected light comes from the correct angle.  Apparently I cannot share a couple of photos showing its performance.

Authentic B+W

I knew it would do what I wanted, and it did. I've always been a German optics proponent, whether for day-light or astro-photography. Haven't gone wrong yet.

B+W all day long

This is a good filter, but turning the ring was a bit tight. I added a bit of lubricating oil to make it better, which is why I didn?t give it 5 stars.

BW Filters are the highest quality filters made!! They?re all that I use on my Leitz lenses that I have for my Leica SL2.

The optical clarity of the filter is excellent, B+W always makes flawless glass. I ordered this for taking photos with my Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens and it fits excellently. The threads are clean, precise, and sharp, the rotation of the polarizer element is smooth and flawless. For cutting down reflection glare in outdoor portraits nothing beats this filter in it's price range.

I have been using B+w filters for 25 years and have no regrets.

I photograph my husband's wood turnings for his website and shows.  Fighting excessive light glare on his turned pieces that are highly polished can be an issue.  I was advised to use a polarizing filter.  This filter is great and works like a charm. It only takes a small adjustment to remove the glare while not adversely affecting the blue color when used on a turning.  The threads don't bind when screwing onto the lens and the ring rotates smoothly.  I am looking forward to using it in outdoor photography.

Top of the line quality.

It works great with no color cast that I have seem after shooting hundreds of images. My only regret is that I didn't buy it today vs. 2 weeks ago. It is now cheaper.That's why only the 3 star rating.
