Nice little filter I've been using with my Nikon D80 and 18-135 lens on a tripod. It shortens depth of field dramatically but it's just the nature of this magnifying glass. It's perfect if you don't want to spend all kinds of money and still have some fun either with plants, insects or else...

Used this filter to compensate for the effects of a dome port in an underwater housing. Works well, good construction.

Diopters are optical close up lenses that make macro photography easy.
When added to a lens they greatly narrow the depth of field while reducing the minimum focusing distance of your lens.
The effective focal length of the dioptere are:
+1 = 1000mm
+2 = 500mm
+3 = 333mm
+4 = 250mm
+5 = 200mm
