Ideal for landscape and portrait photography, this filter allows for a wider aperture and slower shutter speed, resulting in a shallower depth of field and a beautifully blurred background.The 702M filter is crafted with a soft edge coating, reducing the risk of vignetting and producing more natural-looking results. It's essential to position the horizon line not too far from the center of the image due to the increased difference in brightness this filter provides.Constructed with optical glass, this durable filter features a multi-resistant coating (MRC) by B+W. This extraordinary multiple layer coating is harder than glass, protecting your filter from scratches, even during cleaning. The MRC also repels water and dirt, making filter maintenance a breeze.The 702M filter uses the standard B+W rotating F-Pro filter mount, made of brass. This mount has a front accessory thread and is thinner than the earlier standard mount introduced in 2001. Invaluable filter. I use this constantly for landscape photography. I would have liked a 3-stop or more version.  

One improvement would have been if the filter was marked to show level position. 

I marked mine with a tiny white dot of paint to show the level position.
