Best filters made

I cherish each and every one of my B + W filters.

Some issues

I find two problem issues with this filter. 1. When using this polarizer filter, I usually attach it onto a B+W UV-Haze filter that is already in place on my lens as protection for the lens. The threads of the polarizer filter lock tightly onto the UV filter making it very difficult to remove the polarizer filter. 2. The polarizer filter lens cap does not stay in place on the filter while it is attached to the lens. It is too loose and simply falls off leaving it unprotected as you move about with your camera.

I would buy this brand everytime.

Using the filter to shoot Lake Superior and surrounding waterfalls. Worked great to ruduce the glare off the water. The adjustability in the filter allowed me to control the amount of glare reduction. This filter performed better than what I expected.

Lens Cap Issue

B&W Filters have saved damage to my lens so I when wanted to try a poloarizing lens purchased this lens. My other B&W allow me to use my existing Canon lens caps, but this one does not. It's a minor thing, but it's being returned because of it.

Worth the extra $ for the B+W

This is a great filter! It is worth the extra money to get a high end brand like B+W compared to the lower end filters. Highly recomended!

Great polarizer

This is a great polarizer. The only negative is that the slim filter does not fit with your normal lens cover. It comes with its own cover but it is the cup over type that drops off very very easy. I have dropped it many times during my vacation - had to hold the camera with lens up to avoid it dropping. Think twice about buying the slim version. Single-coat has issues with glare when shooting near the direction of the sun. I get more glare than when using my multi-coated UV -- this is expected and why single coat cost considerably less.

A must for landscapes

Doesn't vignette on the Nikon 10-24, deepens leaf colors in landscapes, etc. Essential for almost anyone.

I'd Buy It Again

You can't go wrong with B + W. You are going to pay a little more, but I've found that this is money invested well. I've purchased cheaper filters in the past and found that they don't last, are of poor construction, or don't screw on evenly.

Quality and Good Value

Thin rim reduces incidence of vignetting, especially on zoom lenses extended to mid-or-outer zoom ranges. The press-on cap doesn't always stay on; it is important to see that it adheres around the whole diameter of the filter frame.

Not impressed at all

Not worth the money. Totally unusable. Everything is hazy and blown out when using this. Take the filter off and voila, everything is beautiful again. I had purchased this expecting it would enhance outdoor landscape photography shots. Not at all! Waste of my money.

Good Filter

After using Cokin polarizer filter, this one looks much better. Only thing I don't like is removing it from my other filter. It is really hard.

Nice glass, well constructed

I bought this to fit my Sigma 10-22mm, so it needed to be thin. A couple of test shots showed no vignetting at the widest setting on my lens and it gives more consistent polarization than a Tiffin CPL I have.

Filter worked well. Note - A Nikon 77mm lens cap will NOT fit on this lens. It does not grab the sides of the lens. Other then that the lens worked as expected

About B + W 77mm Polarizer Slim Mount Coated Filter

• Polarizer filters evenly increase color saturation of all colors (except black and white), creating deep, rich scenics.
• They add contrast for dramatic skies and ariel shots.
• Polarizers also eliminate glare from highly reflected surfaces like glass and water.
• Polarizers are two part lenses that rotate, allowing you to select the degree of additional saturation, contrast and glare reduction desired.
•They come in two varieties.
• Circular-for all types of cameras (required for beam splitting metering systems commonly found in auto-focus SLR's and in most current TTL Slr's; check your camera's manual).
• Linear-for rangefinders and older SLR metering systems.
