B&W product quality good as usual. However, Nikon Coolpix P900 does not permit through the lenses viewing, adjusting the polarization is useless.

I use a polarizer quite often to reduce glare and create a very pleasing image.

Another fine B & W product. The threads are perfectly machined and the CPL functions smoothly.

I am a long time B+W owner. I recently purchased a new lens which used a smaller filter size. Based on my years of happiness with my current B+W polarizer, I again purchased a B+W polarizer. I value their attention to detail, high build quality, and superior optics.

The polarizing filter is best used for bright sunny days. The filter will help render images with vibrant colors

If you buy a $1,500+ lens, don't compromise with a 30 dollar filter. Buy something comparable to the amount you spend on your lens. I hope this makes business sense.

Works just like you would expect - screw-on attachment and adjustable polarization by rotating the filter.

This is a well constructed and robust filter. I also have a handful of B+W ND filters and enjoy their products very much. It is important to me to use a filter that does not shift my color. A number of filters on the market do horrible things to your color and are pointless to use. Polarizers have a particular use, so make sure you understand the specific purposes of this type of filter before purchasing.

This works as expected. When you spend hard earned money on the glass you need to protect it, this does that for me.

Yes, you could spend a couple of hundred on a name brand filter from Canon or Nikon or Hasselblad, but this is definitely a good buy for the money. Good threads, not the kind that tend to cross-thread, and a good smooth rotation. Would recommend to a friend!

I had all 77mm lenses but then added a 24-70 2.8L 82mm along with a 16-35 2.8L so it was time to add a new Polarizer. I knew B+W products were good but this is really excellent. Quality through and through and it does what it's supposed to do. Adorama is easy to deal with online but sometimes you need to talk to a rep and mine was super helpful. Great service and highly recommend this polarizer.

I use only my Canon's Manual setting, and I use long lenses infrequently. This polarizing screen, while it delivers what it promises, darkens my viewfinder sufficiently that I have great difficulty seeing my exposure information. If I were not retired, this would be a hindrance, as it slows down the shooting process. In addition, the threading on the screen does not meld easily with the lens. This, again, slows me down. That said, the screen removes reflections to provide me with outstanding color rendering.

This filter worked well while in Florida shooting scenes that included both the blue sky (with varying degrees of clouds) and ocead waters. Helped greatly to limit reflections off the water and to enhance the contrast between the blue of the sky and the white of the clouds.

Excellent quality and performance. Great value for the price. I prefer B&W for consistent high quality filters, at reasonable prices. I recommend this filter.

During our last trip to Sedona, AZ, I did a little experiment of my own: for every red rock, I took two photos, one with this B+W polarizer and one without. Immediately afterwards, right on the camera's monitor, I could see the marked difference in the photos. I don't need any reviews or persuasion on which filters to purchase. For me, it's B+W all the way.

This is a good quality filter with no surprises. Comes in a case that I can use in the field, even with gloves on.

You Get What You Pay For

Used for landscape color correction/enhancement in skys, and for detailing stream beds. B+W filters are top quality, and multi-coating enhances durability and consistency in all outdoor situations. You get what you pay for; quality gear equals quality results.
Superior CPL
By Lawrence W.
[Use on a digital SLR.] Use mostly outdoors. Cuts haze and pops colors. Most useful to enhance the sky on landscape photos. This filter is made very well. The threads fit perfectly. The glass is multi coated to help prevent lens flare. Makes backlit shots easier. The best circular polarizer I've ever had.
Highly efficient standard circular polarizing filter for all cameras with beam splitters in the light paths of their TTL exposure meter and with autofocus lenses. Circular polarization has the same pictorial effect as linear polarization, but allows for proper exposure metering and/or autofocus distance settings.
B+W Polarizers increase color saturation and reduce reflections. The neutral gray color and plane parallel polarizer material guarantee optimal image results. High-quality optical glass ensures excellent pictorial quality. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is positioned in relation to the sun. Filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8.
Linear and circular polarizers both consist of a linear polarizer foil but differ in their construction in the following way. Modern SLR cameras have a beam-splitting prism that sends part of the incoming light to the meter and part to the viewfinder. The effect is that the light entering the meter is partially polarized by the beam-splitter. A linear polarized placed on the lens of such a system will act as a second polarizer and block light to the meter by a degree dependent on the angle between the prism and the polarizer on the lens.
The result is incorrect exposure/aperture values from the meter. The circular polarizer circumvents this problem through the addition of a 1/4-wave retarder or delay, foil. This ensures that the linearly polarized light is changed into a rotation that appears unpolarized to the meter, resulting in proper exposure/aperture readings.
Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC)
MRC by B+W is not only an extraordinarily effective multiple layer coating, it is also harder than glass, so that it protects filters from scratches (for instance when cleaning the filters) and it is also water and dirt repellent, thus facilitating filter maintenance.
Mount
This filter uses their standard B+W rotating F-Pro filter mount, which has a front accessory thread and is made of brass. Compared to the earlier standard mount introduced in 2001, the F-Pro mount has become thinner.
Now it can be used with wide angle lenses, including most 24mm focal lengths on a full frame body, without vignetting. Another advantage of the F-Pro mount is it's modified retaining ring, which is no longer threaded in from the front, but holds the filter glass in place from the back. When removing a filter or lens hood that has been screwed on too tight to the filter, the retaining ring is not at risk of loosening.
