I'm a big fan of B+W filters so I knew when I started to get into M glass that I was gonna need a few. For one thing I wanted an ND filter to be able to achieve some creamy bokeh shots and it does exactly that. Very well made, filters 100% recommend.
You can enhance your photography and videography experience with the 86mm Master 803M ND 0.9 3-Stop MRC Nano Neutral Density Filter. This high-quality B+W ND filter is designed to reduce light intensity by three f-stops, making it an excellent choice for shooting in bright light conditions where a suitable aperture cannot be selected, or when a specific, small depth of field (DOF) is needed.
The filter's unique design allows for a distinct water flow effect, making it perfect for capturing dynamic landscapes or creating a wipe effect in your photos. Crafted from finely ground and polished special glass, this ND filter ensures optimal optical quality without negatively impacting the performance of your high-quality lens.
The filter utilizes advanced thin-film technology, which not only provides the pure ND filter effect but also includes a coating combination that optimizes the filter's performance. This coating combination includes a multi-layer anti-reflective component with seven layers per filter side, effectively preventing unwanted reflections that can compromise your image quality.
As the final layer, an outer layer with dirt- and water-repellent properties is applied. This layer not only offers comprehensive protection for the filter but also simplifies the cleaning and maintenance of the filter pane.
The 86mm Master 803M ND 0.9 3-Stop MRC Nano Neutral Density Filter ensures uniform light attenuation across the entire visible range, delivering optimally color-neutral image results. Please note that ND filters should not be used for direct visual solar observation due to the risk of blinding, as they allow UV- and IR-rays that can harm the eyes. For direct observation of the sun, special sun filters are available from astronomy suppliers.
