Shopper : Can you tell me if this will be compatible with the new Samsung phone and the Iphone 5? ThanksDONOVAN K : It comes with a micro sd adapter and one that it says is for a blackberry (which looks like a micro sd, not sure what the difference is). If you were using an Iphone, it would require another adapter to make it work.MARK K : I confused this device with another device I recently ordered. The cable coming from this unit ends in a micro USB male plug. If the smart phone you have has a USB cable that can be adapted to interface with a micro USB, this should work.MARK K : I have not used it with either of those phones. However, the cable that connects to the unit ends in a female USB port. As such, any device that uses a USB cord to charge can be plugged into the port. I am not aware of any modern smart phone that does not use a USB charging system. Hence, it should work for all of them.VENKAT K : I have not yet used it , but checked with my Samsung phone and it should work. I think the same goes for an IPhone if it has an USB connection.CARL E WEEMS J : Yes, it is compatible with all i-phones, including the new 5. It is compatible with any phone that will charge from a usb port or usb charger. I use with Powerex 2700mah rechargable AA batteries. Good backup solution

I tried to update my previous review but could not understand how to do it, therefore adding my experience in this review. Used it few times, worked as intended, charged phone fast but needs a new set of AA batteries after one full charge of cell phone. Without replacing AA alkaline battery in charger after one backup charging of cell phone it stops cell phone battery to go further down but does not charge it. To me it is acceptable and after understanding this fact I carry additional 6 AA batteries for emergency situation.

Great cell phone/GPS backup solution

I am using this battery pack with Droid Razr android phone and my daughter borrows for her android phone on long days out. I have not used any other cell phone backup battery pack before, therefore can not claim how great this one is but it is well made multipurpose battery pack, works as intended and expected. Allowing use of AA size batteries eliminates need of carrying a charger as needed with other lithium battery backup packs. Charging time will vary phone to phone and freshness of AA batteries but it is very comforting to have almost unlimited charge in cell phone. It worked with my GPS too. I will recommend it to anybody wants a flexible cell phone backup solution.

The best external powerpack I've used

I used this for my android big phone which eats battery like crazy. With other powerpack, the cant even recharge it to full, but with this one, I can charge 1.5 times to its full battery level. Of course the bad thing using 6 AA battery is the dimension is a little bit bulky.

Faster charge than from USB on a PC!

Couldn't believe how fast it charged my cell phone! I am VERY satisfied with this charger and would recommend it to anybody! I use NiMH batteries and they last for at least three complete charges.

Excellent solution for those who travel

I'm now free from looking for electrical outlets in airports. When loaded with 6 AA batteries, this unit is a bit heavy, but it fully charges my iPhone 4 once, and will extend the life of the phone on the second round for quite a while. I never travel without it.
