At first I was skeptical that a rechargeable battery could replace the alkalines I use in my equipment, especially with manufacturers warning that rechargeable will perform so badly. However, these batteries work. My primary use for these is with my Tascam DR-40. I could easily burn through three dozen alkalines in a weekend. I've run some simple tests using my DR-40 and the rechargeables last as long or longer than the equivalent alkalines. I also recommend the Maha PowerEx MH-C801D for recharging these batteries.

I use this for my speedlights and notice that my speedlights recycle much quicker than before and give me less problems. These batteries are a must have.

Sure, it's a tiny bit of trouble to charge batteries but . . . it's better than buying fresh batteries time and again. Eneloops work better than any others i've tried.

Throw away all your other batteries. These stay charged while not in use and are great. I never use any other AA battery for photography. Nick

We've been using Eneloop batteries for several years, and love them. We already had close to 30 (I don't know exactly how many because so many of them are in clocks and toys and cameras and what have you), and have had virtually no problems. But life being what it is, we've acquired new electronic items that require batteries and were running low. When I saw the 8-pack of "improved" Eneloops, I couldn't pass them up. How do you improve on near perfection? How about a battery that will recharge 50% more times? Or one that holds that charge longer? Or that stores more energy than the previous generation? This new Eneloop does all three. To sum up: We love Eneloops, and had no complaints about the previous versions. This newer version is even better than those are.

I've been using these in a pair of Sunpak PZ42x flashes without any problems. I loaded them up right out of the package without charging them and they had plenty of power. I haven't had to recharge them yet.
