Recently purchased a new laptop, but I have an older LaserJet printer. I was having problems finding a driver. Decided to connect via the lpt1 port using a standard driver. The parallel printer adapter allowed me to connect my new laptop and old printer.

Product was available. It shipped almost immediately. And I received it before I expected it to arrive. It was in perfect condition. I attached it to the printer and voila printing problem solved!

This cable was really nice and seemed to do what I wanted it to do? However it felt like I was paying off a lot of money for something I could've picked up elsewhere.

I installed this for an elderly lady who had an older Epson parallel printer that she wanted to use with a new Windows 8.1 computer system. It worked just great!

A quality product, not sure about its future as parallel ports are rapidly disappearing from all products & being replaced by USB ports. I bought this to connect an old workhorse printer; unfortunately, the manufacturer no longer provides updated drivers that work with new PC running Windows 8. Thought this cable would provide the solution, but it didn't.

I saw some comments saying that it was incompatible with their HP LaserJet printers. I wanted folks to know that it absolutely, positively works with LaserJet 4000 & 4050 printers. Bought 2 cables. My only con is that it is 6' so I had to rearrange one of the work areas. If you read and follow the directions to the tee, it will work exactly as described. Pinky swear. The first installation I did, I skipped a step and it didn't work. Note: use Windows Update to grab the printer where applicable if it isn't on the list

Solved a problem connecting an old HP LaserJet parallel printer to a new Macintosh running OS-X 10.7.4. Needed a parallel to USB cable and this one did the trick. Read several comments on Mac bulletin boards about how difficult this was, but with this cable, it turned out to be easy.

I connected the cable to a 20 year-old HP LaserJet 4MP printer and to my new computer and, after following the written directions that came with the cable (a very important step, I discovered), found that the printer worked as well as it ever has. I'm delighted with the purchase.

Finding the correct drivers for the LaserJet 1300 printer for this cable was a little tricky, but the HP Universal Print drivers worked perfectly.

The product works perfectly. I expected it to be the LPT port, and it ended up (obviously) being the USB port that I needed to point the printer to. The biggest problem with this product is that if your using it, you are probably using it with an old printer that windows 7 or newer may not have drivers for. look first. I had to hack a driver to get it to work.

If you sign on to the computer as administrator and allow Windows Update to go out and find the driver for the cable and the printer, it works flawlessly. I tried two other brand names before this one and they did not work with certain printers.

Adapter works fine until the printer goes on standby. Once it does, the drivers are unloaded and the printer must be restarted followed by a restart of the PC. A real pain

The best thing is that it works. I have a new laptop with W7 64bit and my old printer (laserjet 2100) only has a parallel connection. Despite the fact that it was an adventure to get the driver right the cable works great.

Read and follow easy instructions that are included with adapter. I connected the adapter to my PC running XP pro and a HP 4 plus laser printer. The PC found the printer - I first had to change the USB to a printer port - this step is in instructions. I printed a test page - it is just that easy to connect and use a printer that requires a parallel port on a PC that has only USB connectionsp

This is what you need to hook up an older printer with a centronics port to new computers with only USB ports. Plug the cable in, tell it to use virtual USB001 port, tell it what printer you have and you're done!

The Cable to Go6.0' USB IEEE-1284 Parallel Printer Adapter uses the USB port on your PC or hub, so your parallel port remains free for a zip drive or scanner. If you have multiple printers, you can eliminate the need for a switchbox by connecting each printer to a USB port. The device is fully transparent to the user and is ideal for true bi-directional communication. This adapter auto-negotiates hardware recognition for faster protocol setup and is fully plug-and-play compatible.
