Fantastic landscape lens. Sharp corner to corner at all apertures. I use it with 5DSr.

This lens is about perfect ( if not cheap! ) The quality of the optics, the fact that it is NOT a fisheye makes it possible to take very wide photos such as landscapes without distortion while keeping all parts of the picture in focus.

Best of the best wide angle lense in all senses of the word. I always wanted Canon to find a way of using filters which I saw very remote, but when I got my R5 Canon made possible with the Drop-in Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. Good going Canon!!!

I have tried this lens on my Canon 5d mk3 and it was astounding. Sure wish I had pulled the trigger and purchased it then. I'm not of Canon jacking up the price for this lens at all. After all it a F4 not a 2.8. Not made for the R mirrorless yet.

I am a professional and I own this lens for about three years. I shoot home interiors for multiple listing. I could not do the job that I do without this lens.

Bought this 3 months ago and I have used it extensively, both on land and underwater. The lens is used with my 6d Mk III and pictures I’ve taken are outstanding. Yes, it is expensive. Yes, it is heavy. That being said, the quality of the images even at the edges are crisp, with less than expected distortion. If you have the budget I would highly recommend this lens if you are looking for a wide angle lens.

I am a professional landscape photographer that primarily shoots ultra-wide scenes. I've shot almost exclusively with the 16-35mm f/4L IS for the last three years. That lens is a steal for what it produces. That said, sometimes 16mm simply isn't wide enough. The 11-24mm f/4L has been on my dream list for quite some time. I stumbled upon a splendid deal for that hulking piece of glass on Adorama and decided that it was finally time to pull the trigger. And...I couldn't be happier! Wow. The difference between 11mm and 16mm is not insignificant. Creatively, 11mm has opened up my world to a new range of possibilities. I intend to revisit some of my favorite shooting locations with the 11-24mm to work up new compositions. Contrast, color and sharpness is on a par with the 16-35mm. The corner-to-corner sharpness is superb.

Changed the game for my business! It has amazing sharpness! A must for a serious architectural shoot. The only problem is you have to be careful with composition sometime because it can really go wide and distort the edges. I love it!!!!

I'm a Architectural photographer and this is perfect! The only issue i've had was shooting very larger rooms wide open, sometimes I have to zoom in on post processing. I love it!

This was a big purchase, but what a beautiful lens. The wide angle field is extraordinary and the images are outstanding. Skip the 16-35 and go with this magnificent lens.

A great sharp lens for wide sweeping views of landscape and architecture. Wish it was f 2.8 :-). I have been very pleased with the overall performannce and sharpness of the lens. I wont get into the technical aspects of what makes this a great lens (you can read reviews for that) but here are things to keep in mind that was a learning experience for me - I knew most of it but using it live vs reading about it are two different things. And these are not complaints - just for you to consider for buy or not buy decisions. 1. First off, this is a heavy lens. Get used to it. For what it provides no way around it. 2. Second - this is a huge lens. I was shocked at how big it was but looks perfect on my Canon 5D IV :-). 3. This lens is wide - very wide. If you are in a public crowded place trying to get a photo without people - good luck with that. I live in Chicago and there are many places of architectural interest to me - and I find it difficult to frame a shot without people in it because it is so wide. But because it is wide, I am also able to get dramatic shots that others appreciate. 4. Distortion - I had to learn and work harder to frame the shot without bad distortion. Again not complaining but it was a learning experience and I had to adapt to it. 5. Vignetting - At wide open, be ready for vignetting. Yes I have heard fan boy reviews that says there is very little to no vignetting - dont believe them :-). At this wide angle and wide open there is vignetting and not something that is straight forward to fix in Post. It is fixable - just not a single click in LR. 6. Again this is not a complaint - but you cannot use filters with the lens - not unless you invest in something very specifically made for this lens. i.e. you cannot use your lens filter system like Lee. 7. Well - I do have one complaint though - LENS FLARE. Oh my god - does this lens have the worst lens flare?. Yes it does. At angles, this lens produces the worst lens flare and some of it I just give up trying to correct in post. 8. Dont try to take portrait or event photos - you wont be happy with the distortion. I was experimenting with it and I learnt my lesson :-). 9. And remember this is a specialty lens. Useful for landscape, architecture, real estate photos - not a general purpose lens. Hopefully you all find this review useful/helpful. I have had this lens for about 4 months - love it overall.

One of the BEST lens purchases I have made. It is sharp all the way to the edges and is perfect for my full frame sensor.

This lens is unbeatable for near/far compositions. It really excelled in giving a unique POV for landscape photos. And 11mm landscape astrophotography is another amazing area this lens makes possible.

I purchased this lens few months ago and using for landscape. That's was amazing, super wide picture, sharp, details. The feeling of holding hand is very good. The lens is suitable for architecture I just regret that is has no IS mode.

Love it!!! Wide angle capability that helps get the entire scene in but is NOT a fisheye / with less linear distortion. Well worth the price.

2017-03-03T08:37:15
Until I looked thru it, I wouldnâ??t believe I saw no linear distortion at 6 feet from the lens. This is better than single focus 12 mm and the like. As I use it for architecture, this is important. Canon broke the 20 mm barrier almost 5 decades ago with their 19 mm FL lens. It had very minor handlebar mustache distortion at the edge of the frame, but that was half of what Pentax and Nikon offered at 20/21. Of course, one would not notice that except for photos of buildings or the like. The new lens gives me a travel case of only 2 lenses, 11-24 and 24-105, of course, both Canon.

2017-01-23T07:26:10
This lens covers a lot of ground. It is sharp from the near foreground to infinity. At the more ultra wide settings near the edge of the field objects get stretched out, but this should be expected. I wish this would have a close focus of 8" instead of 11-12", but that is me getting used to the lens and is not the fault of the lens. This is a great answer to shots requiring something wider than the 16mm or 14mm found on other Canon Lenses. It was a long time coming. The fit and finish of the lens is professional and what you would expect from other EF lenses.

This 11-24mm lens is very sharp and a joy to use. Be warned - it is heavy. I now have to decide if a ($) polarizer assembly (the front lens element is not flat) is going to be necessary. Working with this extreme wide angle lens is challenging, but it allows me to produce unique images. Helpful in the competitive marketplace for photographic images.

I am a architectural, nature & cityscape photographer. This lens takes my creativity and composition to new heights. Just an amazing width coverage, balanced, no distortion even when taking shots at 11 mm.

This lens is an extraordinary achievement in wide angle optics. I have used this for both landscapes and interiors; and it is brilliant. Even wide open the edge sharpness and lack of vignetting must be seen to be believed. Although the folks at Canon are often slackers when it comes to new camera releases (i.e. the unremarkable 5D Mark IV), their lens development is second to none.

Unbelievable Lens. This is a major step up from my 16-35 f2.8.

I own the Canon 16-35 f/2.8 along with the Canon 16-35 f/4….. and also the Canon 14mm f/2.8. I have been waiting for the new Canon 11-24 for about as long as I can remember as I love photographing wide-angle all over the world, being a travel photographer. The new 11-24 is just about as sharp as the incredible 16-35 f/4 and it is the most beautiful piece of glass that I have ever used in my life. It is big and heavy, but it almost doesn't matter as you know that you have one amazing lens in ...

Great Lens
By Loren
I have been doing virtual tours for a local real estate agent for the past 3 or 4 years. I started with the original EOS 5D and a Canon EF 17-40mm, f/4L lens, and soon upgraded the camera body to the 5D Mk lll. I continued to use the same 17-40 lens. The problem with the 17 x 40 lens was that most of the time I had to stitch 2 shots together to show rooms in their entirety. This was time consuming, and even using PhotoShop to stitch the pictures, distortion was almost always present. I hesi...

With the Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Lens, you can unlock the full potential of wide-angle photography. This lens, a part of Canon's esteemed L-series, is the widest zoom lens ever produced by the brand. It boasts an impressive wide-angle range of 11-24mm, making it the perfect tool for capturing breathtaking landscapes, intricate interior shots, and offering unique perspectives on both near and distant subjects.
The lens features an innovative optical design, including Super UD and UD lenses that effectively correct chromatic aberration. This ensures your images are free from color fringing and produce high-contrast, sharp results. Four aspherical lens elements work tirelessly to minimize distortion, from the center of the image to the periphery and throughout the entire zoom range.
The lens is equipped with a Sub Wavelength Coating (SWC) and an Air Sphere Coating (ASC), both of which significantly reduce flare and ghosting. This ensures your images maintain high clarity and contrast, even in challenging lighting conditions. The 9-blade circular aperture diaphragm creates beautiful, soft blurred backgrounds, adding depth and focus to your subject.
For quick and silent autofocus, the lens features a rear focus system and ring USM. This lens also allows for manual focusing even when in AF mode, providing you with complete control over your photography. With a minimum focusing distance of 11 in./0.28m at the extreme telephoto end, this lens delivers exceptional performance and results, even when shooting in tight spaces.
Built to L-series specifications, the EF 11-24mm f/4L USM is both durable and rugged. Its design is highly dust and water-resistant, making it a reliable companion for shooting in various environments. Fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements reduce smears and fingerprints, keeping your lens clean and ready for action.
This compact lens includes an integrated hood and is compatible with all EOS cameras, making it a versatile addition to any photographer's kit. The Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L USM Lens is a must-have for photographers seeking superior performance and truly expressive images, regardless of the setting.
This lens bundle also includes a 3Pod TREK Series Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod and Ball Head, providing stability for your shots, and a cleaning kit to keep your equipment in top condition.
