I love this lens. It's tiny, bright (f/2), and has great IQ. Mounted on my M50, it's easily small enough to put in a jacket pocket and take anywhere. It's a great all-around focal length too. I would say it's a must-have if you have an EOS M camera.

Bought it for the size factor, but it's also a sharp and reasonably fast lens, especially at this price point. It stays on my M50 more often than not. Easily fits a large pocket or under a zipped coat, as I recently did on an outing in inclement weather. The bundled goodies are a nice bonus as well, especially the software. Highly recommended.

My fault, I was thinking this lens would work with my EOS 80D. It doesn?t. It is for mirrorless cameras and will cost you $$$ to mail back as Canon does not supply return postage. I?m thinking of switching to Nikon.

This Canon EF-M 22mm lens is awesome! This will be my go-to lens while out and about on any given day, as it produces high quality images in a small package! Shipment was well packed and delivered quickly as promised.

I love this little lens. It's not quite as wide as the Sigma 16mm, and obviously doesn't have a fast of an aperture. But it is wide enough and fast enough for what I am doing right now, and the tiny profile just makes it a pleasure to work with.

This lens is phenomenal! With an f/2 aperture, I can take sharp photos with beautifully blurry backgrounds. It is tack-sharp, fast, has great low-light performance, and can take wonderful portraits and landscape shots!

Purchased this lens because it's faster and more compact than the M50 kit lens. It's already met my optimistically high expectations. It's been great for capturing photos of my two young daughters. I'd highly recommend this lens to another beginner looking to expand their EF-M Lens collection for their M50.

Great lens for the eosM50. I don't think I will be using either of the kit lens ever again.

Best lens I have for the EOS M mount! Great size, makes my M50 a pocketable cam like a point and shoot. Great for indoors with the f/2 aperture. I love it. Its a Must-Have!

This is a great lens for the EF-m system. Fast, sharp, just amazing. The size is incredible. With it on my M50 its the size of a point and shoot. I absolutely love it for candid's and street photography. I haven't taken it off the camera since I got it.

Great little lens. Small, light, sharp, fast-focusing. Perfect for everyday 'take the camera with you everywhere' practice. I wish it had manual focus but then it would lose some of the portability.

This is a great little pancake lens for the Canon M-mount APS-C camera line. I use it on the Canon EOS M50 and I love how light and compact it is. The Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens is compact and has a bright aperture of f/2. It doesn't exhibit a lot of distortion which is normal for a wide-angle lens. The 35mm equivalent field of view is great for capturing more of the background in your photos. This lens does produce some vignetting wide open at f/2 but gets better around f/2.8 to f/4. The resolution in the corners also seems to improve when stopping down to f/2.8. Overall, I highly recommend this as your first lens you pick-up after you purchase any Canon M-mount APS-C camera.

While I'm not a pixel peeper, the lens is sharp wide open. Small and compact, it fits easily into any bag. The f/2 max aperture and 22mm focal length is great for situations where the EF 50mm f/1.8 (with adapter is too long due to space limitations.

I’m not a pro. I like it because it’s small fast and producing crisp pictures. My go to lens for canon m50 body.

Besides the kit lens 15-45mm on the camera, I immediately purchased the 22mm because if its f2 stop. I do not regret that purchase a bit. The lens is magnificent, especially if you use it indoors where you need better f stop. When I shoot indoors, I do not take it down. I do believe it makes better, faster, and sharper pictures. Another benefit of having this lens on is that the camera becomes ridiculously small, yet takes pictures with the quality of more expensive camera. CANON, PLEASE MAKE MORE NATIVE EF-M LENSES. We need them desperately. We need especially lenses with lower f stops. Something like f2 (or f1.8 18-55mm would be ingenious (or why not f 1.8, 18-150mm). They may be too expensive but I'm sure people will buy them. Currently the lowest f stop has the 22mm. Even the 11-22mm has f3.5. We are basically left with one decent lens, namely the 22mm.

Great lens for EOS-M
By KansasShooter
If you own an EOS-M you either already have this lens or ought to. The 22mm focal length, equivalent to a 35mm on a full frame camera, and f/2 maximum aperture makes this a very versatile lens. My EOS-M does backup and 2nd or 3rd camera duty on video shoots where the STM focus on this lens is quiet, quick, precise and very useful during either full-time auto focus or touch-screen focus racking. Optical performance is very good, not the sharpest lens I own, but plenty good enough for any task ...

Good overall lens for everyday use
By DanielSF
Due to its small size as a "pancake" lens, I keep it on all the time since it's small. I end up moving closer to the subject if needed, so I don't miss the zoom as much as I thought. It's fast, so I get good background blurring.
