Shopper : What does the Gray Market mean? Is it still "new" ??Glen H : http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=FAQ#Grey Market InformationNICK K : I never buy grey market items. Your investing in a great piece of equipment, get the full warranty.DAVID M : Not sure exactly what Gray Market means, but the lens is brand new and awesome....it is my go to lens and stays on my camera at all times and only comes off when I need a different shot and goes right back on. A must lens for a Canon shooter......Dave Unscene Productions
bert y : will this fit on my canon 60d and my canon t1i?RICHARD S : Bert,
I'm not fimilar with the t1i, but I do believe it will fit the 60D. Why not check with Adorama they could tell you exactly.
I use this lens on my 20D and 7D bodys. I love it. It just about stays on the camera for just about everything.
Good luck and enjoy.
RickKYLE B : Yes, it will work.
Because those two cameras are crop sensor, as opposed to full frame (like 5D or similar), the viewing angle will be longer (zoomed in more) than true 24mm-70mm like on a full frame camera such as 5D mkII. The crop factor is 1.6x on your cameras, so you multiply whatever the focal length of the lens by 1.6. So 24mm becomes roughly 38mm, which is quite a bit longer (less wide) and 70mm becomes 112mm. So you actually have a 38-112mm lens.
None of this is a big deal unless you're wanting a wide angle, you won't really get that from this lens on your camera. If you want wide angle on a crop sensor camera like yours, you should look at Sigma 17-50mm 2.8. This is a great lens, good price, and you will actually be able to get a wide angle view at 17mm on your camera. 17-50mm multiplied by the 1.6 crop factor becomes 27-80mm, which is close to the same as 24-70mm.
I hope this makes sense and I haven't confused you. Basically do you want a good lens that can go as wide as your kit lens or are you okay with it not being as wide and having a little more length?SIR DAVID G. S : Both of your camera's are EOS models and you shouldn't have any problem the EF 24-70 f/2.8L USM on both camera's. If you any other question just to make sure i would call Canon USA at 1-516-328-5000.MARK J : The Canon 24-70 f2.8 is an EF lens which illuminates the full-frame sensor, such as used on a Canon 5D Mk II or Canon 1Ds Mk III. It is compatible with cropped sensor cameras such as 60D, although the focal length conversion factor of 1.6X, due to the reduced sensor size, means that the effective angle of view, when mounted on D60, corresponds to 38.4-112 mm (35 mm focal length equivalent).HAI N : The answer is definitely! I actually did a of research before bought this lens. It works perfectly fro me with my Canon 60D. I do not have Canon T1i; however, my dad has Canon T2i and it works great as well. I hope that will answer your questions. If you looking for a great portrait lens, this is a good choice. Enjoy your lens and take some wonderful pics.
Ron R : I am looking at the 24-70mm F/2.8 and the new 24-105 F/4. Will the nwe 24-105 lens give me the fast focusing for taken pictures of people running or just moving and walking?KYLE B : The focusing is pretty fast, I haven't used the 24-105, but the f stop difference between the lenses, to me is a lot more important. Shooting at f/4 may not be an issue for you, but I many times I prefer f/2.8 or lower to get more separation between foreground/background and subject. If you need the extra length of the 105mm then you have to consider that and that may be the lens for you. If you're shooting sports or something like that then you might want/need even more length than that, in which case a 70-200mm f.2.8 is crazy awesome. It's one of Canon's best lenses, IMO. The version II is expensive, but you can pick up a used one for 300-400 more that the 24-70.
The 24-70 autofocus is as fast as I need it to be.carmen p : I have the 24-70mm F/2.8 and I absolutely love it. It's a very SHARP and fast lens. It's very versitile. I highly recommend it!!!!GARY E : All of the Canon L lenses are nothing short of fantastic. I own the 24-70 f/2.8 and have nothing but praise for its quality and ease of use. If you're asking for a recommndation, consider yourself served!WILLIE O : The ability to capture action is acheived with the shutter speed. While the 24 105 give a longer focal length the 24-70 2.8 is a faster lens because the larger aperture allows you to use it in low light situations. Its faster in the sense you can use a faster shutter speed with the same ISO as the 24-105 F4 and get good exposure.RICHARD S : I have the 24-70 2.8L and have had it on my 20D and 7D bodys. I have used it inside to photograph my sons hockey games. They move pretty quick and the rinks aren't always that bright. Never any problems with focusing. As I move following a player it stays sharp.
If you are asking about the 24-105 I can't answer about that one.
