Had this lens for a few years. I bought it with a film canon A2. It's performance on film was always very good. I was recently taking photos of a house with my 17-40mm L lens, a very, very good lens and put this lens on to get a different perspective and it just blew me away at how good it is. In fact the slightly less saturation took some of the blue away ( snow in pix )I know I will be using it more often on my 5D mk ll. Oldie but goodie and it's built like a tank.

Ultra-wide zoom lens with portrait-length telephoto capability. By having multiple lens groups move during zooming, the lens was made compact and lightweight. The ashperical element suppresses distortion. High contrast is maintained at all focal lengths and sharp images are obtained.
