This Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 zoom lens, in my opinion, is an outstanding walkabout lens on my Canon 5D Mark II. Image quality is a tad below an L lens, however, very acceptable.

After extensive use, I determined that the 28-200 zoom range is ideal as an all around lens for me on the Canon EOS 5DM2. Image quality is almost comparible to Canon's L-series.

Zoom range is excellent for the images taken on my 5D Mark II. Most images are made 8x12 and a smathering 20x30. The image quality is a tad below the EF 24-70mm f2.8L but is visually acceptable.

I specifically bought this lense for travel since I didn't want to carry around more than 1 lense. It fit this function greatly and this lense is good for general purpose use of family picts, etc. The major negative to this lense is that it is a slow lense which requires me to use a tripod at low light settings, which otherwise I would not need. Sharpness is not great either; it's ok. In hindsight I would have bought a prime lense for this price.

an excellent product, a little heavy, but not enough to complain about. Deffinetly an excellent choice for the photographer on a budget.

The 28-200 lens has been a favorite of mine for many years. I used this format with several film cameras with great results. I have found that with my Canon 30D Digital, I am getting more like 45-320 mm results which means that I will need a wider angle lens for those close-in shots. I find this lens excellent for 95% of my needs. I rate it four stars only because it does not have the image stabilizing feature

Good working lens -- with IS, the short barrel and crisp autofocus I've gotten sharp handheld shots down to a tenth of a second (though not every attempt there).

Take good picture all the time and very clear.I use it in my EOS 5D canon camera. Canon made a good lens.

Although the price was good, I prefer the internal zoom function over this one. I never realized how convenient it is to not have the lens stick out further, and be subjected to the sand and grit of the western desert and beach sands and dirts. If you can swing the extra $$ for the internal zoom functions, do it. If not, this lens will get the job done, just make sure to keep it clean, and away from blowing dirt.
