An ultrasonic motor (USM) enables extremely fast focusing in near silence, and a floating lens element means consistent sharpness throughout the focusing range.

Thanks to an aspherical lens element, the EF 35mm f/1.4L USM produces images that are distortion corrected. Consistent image quality all over the frame is ensured.
