The megapixel VB-M600D is an indoor security camera that offers easy installation and superb image quality. It is equipped with the Remote Adjustment Function which allows the Pan/ Tilt/ Rotation/ Zoom and Focus to be set from a remote location after installation. The 101 degree wide angle lens on the VB-M600D was designed to maximize the cameras low light performance, allowing it to provide color video down to .03 Lux and black/white video down to 0.001 Lux.

This ONVIF version 1.02 conformant product also offers an impressive range of sophisticated On-board Video Analytics, including Moving Object Detection, Removed Object Detection and Abandoned Object Detection. The cameras 1.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor provides images with four times the detail of a VGA security camera, yet it can be streamed with low bandwidth utilization and disk space usage thanks to the H.264 Codec. ONVIF version 1.02 Conformant
Third party integration is simple with the VB-M600D because it's ONVIF version 1.02 conformant. Compatibility with this standard protocol, as well as WebView - Canon's network camera protocol, enables the user to create a system which best meets their needs, with equipment from different manufacturers and third party recording software. It also simplifies the work of system integrators by expanding the ability to use third party recording software.

This XML based standard systematizes the protocols of settings for camera, control and information acquisition. Among the functions supported are camera search by WS-Discovery, authentication by WS-Security, RTP streaming of video (JPEG, H.264), audio (G.711), events (including PTZ and Camera status) and Multicast. Network settings, camera system parameters, rebooting external IO control and preset home settings are also supported. In addition, SSL communication and setting of intelligent functions are also possible.

Remote Adjustment Function
The VB-M600D features the Remote Adjustment Function which saves time, energy and ultimately money by eliminating the need to set the Pan/Tilt/Rotation/Zoom and Focus during installation. Controllable from a remote location, installers can place the camera where it is best suited and then fine-tune the image area captured as required.

On-board Video Analytics
The VB-M600D is packed with features which enhance its functionality and usability. Among the most useful are its sophisticated On-board Video Analytics, enabling the camera to detect Moving, Abandoned or Removed Objects in its range of vision and also detect attempts at Camera Tampering and changes in Sound Levels. For added control, the VB-M600D also offers a Privacy Mask function which allows the blocking of certain areas of the camera's field of view, to protect from inadvertent intrusions of privacy or password theft (even during P/T/Z operations the specified areas will be masked).

Thanks to the VB-M600D's impressive algorithm highly precise detection is achieved by using polygonal and rectangle shapes to specify up to 15 areas of detection (as opposed to only using rectangle shapes like some competitor models). Additional flexibility is provided in that notification of a detection can be made through the network from the camera using a number of functions including automatic recording, e-mail transmission, uploading video to a specified target server and events in ONVIF by the RM server. It is also possible to combine a number of detection functions for simultaneous notification.

Moving Object Detection: Suspicious person who is trying to break in to the building is detected.

• Camera Tampering Detection: Changing the camera's angle and obstructing the surveillance visual with spray-paints or cloth is detected.

• Privacy Mask Function: Certain areas of the camera's view can be blocked, enabling fine security countermeasures against invasion of privacy and password theft by the camera.

DIGIC NET Processor
All encoding and transmission is performed with Canon's proprietary hardware-based compression engine called DIGIC NET. This powerful processor allows the VB-M600D to simultaneously deliver both H.264 and JPEG video in high resolution 1280 x 960 at the maximum frame rate of 30fps - with no loss in frame rate, unlike many competing models.

H.264 Codec
The H.264 Codec of the VB-M600D provides superb image compression, delivering high resolution images with small data size, thereby resulting in low bandwidth utilization. The benefits are obvious, with an infrastructure cost savings as well as reduced data storage capability needs, all while maximizing the quality of the video image.

Smart Shade Control
When faced with the challenge of capturing an image which has a bright background, the solution is found in Canon's exclusive Smart Shade Control or SSC. It automatically compensates for the problem, adjusting the contrast of the darker areas without losing the brightness of the lighter areas. It will substantially reduce the instance of difficult to read or hidden information.

Auto Day/Night Capability
As the available light changes, the Auto Day/Night feature allows this camera to automatically adjust to maintain optimal image quality. This feature of the VB-M600D is especially useful for installations near doors, windows or skylights as the Auto Day/Night function can achieve up to 40x increased image sensitivity.

Power over Ethernet
The VB-M600D supports IEEE 802.3af compliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology, which allows the use of a single LAN cable to both power the camera and transfer video and audio data when connected to a PoE switch. By eliminating the need to run AC connections to installation sites of the cameras, installation costs are kept to a minimum. In addition, there is more flexibility in placement of the VB-M600D and this offers a convenient way to provide a conduit for remote control and access.

Full Duplex Two-Way Audio
With the VB-M600D, you can have two-way mono audio communication between the remote monitoring center and the surveillance location. G.711-Law compliant, it offers echo cancellation. This feature allows the camera to serve as an even more powerful component of your security infrastructure.

Built-in SD Memory Card Slot (Automatic Backup Function)
The VB-M600D has a built-in SD Memory Card slot, allowing streamed images from the camera as well as uploaded images to be saved to an SD card, providing a backup in case of problems with the network. In addition, when issues occur system logs are also created and stored on the SD card for future troubleshooting.

HTTPS/IPsec Support
For security in network communication, the VB-M600D supports both HTTPS as well as IPsec encryption.

RM-Lite Network Video Monitoring and Recording Software
